First, all persons at MacGregors are top notch on the customer service level, from the phone folks to the technician. When I called originally, I asked if there was an hourly charge, and they indicated it was billed by the job. The problem was that I had a slowly leaking faucet, and after he was done, it leaked even faster. To their credit, the office folks called right back and the tech did come back the next day right away and fixed it, and did not charge me additional labor, but did charge me for the part that could have gone in on the first visit. I think he was trying to save me money, but in the long run, I just wanted it fixed. He did come back and fixed it properly, so I may try them again, but the $40 travel charge, and another $140 for an hour's labor and some gaskets seems like a lot. I then had to pay for the part the next day, so it was a costly little drip! Eric C. 04/07/17 |

The folks at MacGregor Plumbing are all very helpful, courteous, and respectful and Eric C was no exception. He arrived on time and presented himself in a very friendly and respectful manner. I felt that he was calm, centered, and competent. He was efficient doing the job he came for and helped me to consider answers to several other plumbing issues I had. He even did some research after he left my home and called me back with some recommendations.

We had a hot water heater leak, found at 3am. It is so nice to have a company we can call at 3am, talk to a person and get a response quickly. Nice called us back within a few minutes. Early morning wake up due to feeling cold in the bedroom. Quick check of the thermostat confirms the worst - the boiler has shut down and the temp inside is now in the high 50s and dropping. Search online for someone who can do an emergency call and find MacGregor. We're new to the area, so this is a crap shoot as to response and quality of work. Within 30 minutes of calling the after hours number, James called to say he would be at the house shortly. Forty-five minutes after that, here comes the big red truck and a bright-eyed James ready to take a look at the boiler. Removing the panel he immediately identifies the problem as a thermocouple that had given up the ghost. No worries, says he, as I've got the part right here. Within 20 minutes of his arrival, the boiler was back on line. The temperature inside returned to normal shortly thereafter. The service we received was outstanding and the price charged was reasonable given the time of day we placed the call. We will call the fine folks at MacGregor again, if the need ever arises. I was very please when Josh came to my home to do winter service on our furnace. He was on time and finished in good time. He took care not to track in dirt. We went across the street to our rental property and he serviced the furnace there and took care of a problem that could have caused damage to our furnace and put co2 in the house. Great job. We needed to have our furnace replaced in our second home in the Harbor Springs area. After calling other companies in the area (some never returned the call and one even said they were too busy), but MacGregor was very responsive and I was happy to see they were a Bryant dealer as we have a Bryant in our other house. Harry and Stacey have been amazing through the entire process from evaluating the situation, walking me through the proposal, to handling the rebate process with DTE and Great Lakes! Having the WIFI thermostat as part of the deal was great so we can monitor the system remotely and the one year service agreement gives us peace of mind. I drove up to the home the evening after the installation, and what a great surprise as the work was impeccable and you couldn’t even tell anyone had been in the home. We got up on Saturday morning to no heat. I immediately called MacGregor, knowing that this was not a normal work day. The operator who answered was very polite and professional and after hearing our situation said that she would contact the technician on call. Within a short time we were called by the technician and within 1 1/2 hours of our initial call, he was here looking at our furnace. Jim was able to diagnose the problem and provide me a temporary fix to get us through the weekend as the part was not available anywhere. On Monday morning before I was able to call MacGregor, they called me as part of their followup. In about an hour, I had someone here from MacGregor going over my options so that I could make an informed decision. I am very pleased with the service and help that MacGregor provided. 10/11/16 |

On Saturday morning, I went to turn up our heat and only cold air came out (NO HEAT). I immediately called Mac Gregor Heating and Plumbing and got one of their operators. I told them about the problem which they in turn called their technician on call. Within 1 1/2 hours I had a call from the technician along with him showing up at our home within that time to diagnose our problem. Jim G. was that technician and he went right to work identifying the problem. He was very thorough, diagnosing the problem immediately- our furnace was on its last legs. He provided me with a temporary solution along with laying out options for us to consider. Jim was most helpful. He followed up immediately, much faster than I anticipated. In my mind he receives a perfect 10 out of 10 for what he did. My annual service contract with Mac Gregor is well worth the cost and I greatly appreciate the service that I received in resolving this situation. Jim G. 10/10/16 |

Josh and his partner made two service calls to our house during the last two weeks, first to install a gas line for our fireplace and second to install a gas line for a new generator. In both cases the work could not have been preformed better and they were great to work with. MacGregor did the original plumbing and heating installation when we built our house 20 years ago and has done all the plumbing and heating work since installation. Josh and his partner are typical of the personable, efficient individuals who we have worked with for the last 20 years. Keep up the good work.

What a GREAT experience...even if we were without AC for 5 days. It was amazing to see your team go into action and try to quickly get us back into the "cool." Thank you to everyone. They are here installing the AC as I talk Harry. Someone pulled some strings, (made extra effort) and we will have AC tonight hopefully. We can live without AC, our concern is having it available for guests arriving midweek.
Bottom Line: Mac Gregor’s trucks will bring a smile to our heart as we encounter them again and again on the area highways each summer.
