I've been using MacFarlane for 3 years. They have some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. They are polite, helpful and timely. The only "emergency" I had wasn't even caused by my heating system but they came out anyway to help me figure out why my CO alarms were going off simply because they wanted me and my family to be safe. We have always had good service from MacFarlane. Tony came this morning as promised to clean the boilers and prepare them for winter. He answered my questions and addressed my concerns with specifics and followed through with explanations of what he did. He was very pleasant and helpful encouraging me to call again if something was wrong. I have great confidence that his work was appropriate and that we will not have any problems. My A/C quit in the midst of a heat wave, and after reading great reviews, I called MacFarlane on Monday morning at 11. Dan was at my door by 8 am the next morning, quickly saw that all the freon had leaked out and called for another truck to come test for the source of the leak. I was skeptical, since I had never used the company before, but Frank C. showed up a little while later. The condenser was shot. Not a surprise--it's 18 years old. Frank quoted me a fair price (I did my research) for the condenser; an hour or so later, 3 trucks arrived to take away the old and bring in the new, and I had A/C that afternoon. After calling several companies about my air handler (air conditioning not working) and failing to get an appointment, MacFarlane was able to schedule someone to fix my problem the very same day! Frank C was professional and efficient. What seemed like a big problem was solved in less than an hour. He was also willing to answer the questions I had about the system so that I could try and prevent a future occurrence of the problem. The people that come and do any or all work from MacFarlane are just GREAT.
They are kind, do things so well and make suggestions if there are needs for the heating system you have. If you ever need a GREAT COMPANY to come to your home be sure it is MacFarlane Energy and how they take good care, come when needed/wanted and have wonderful workers in the office and coming to serve your system or deliver what you need so your system will have all the warmth you need. Wayne figured out the problem within 20 minutes of arriving. Made an adjustment to the amount of refrigerant in the system to make it run better and actually explained what he was doing. That night when I used the ac, it cooled the house faster than I've ever seen it. I would highly recommend Macfarlane Energy for air conditioning repairs and not to forget the office staff on the handling of the appointment and the payment for the service. Top notch company. Our a/c stopped working on Father's Day weekend, and we asked for repair recommendations on the Needham Facebook page. MacFarlane Energy was highly recommended by several people.We had called other companies for assistance, but MacFarlane was the first to follow through for us. He checked out the systems, added some coolant, but also gave me advice about setting my timed thermostats so that I can bring the zones to a comfortable temperature without overworking the AC units (and my electricity bill). Great service by these guys. The specialist came to our hose on time, and after we had worked with a competitor who told us we needed to replace our entire central AC system because it was 11 years old, and the fixes they could make weren't guaranteed to work.
These Guys seemed much more honest, up front and spelled out our options in detail, in a way that we could understand. On top of that, they were actually pleasant to work with, unlike they other company.
