We noticed our radiators were still producing heat even though our thermostats were turned off. Rob helped diagnose the issue over the phone and determined the cause was from the flow check inside the circulator. I decided to replace all 3 circulators and upgrade to a newer high efficiency model which had to be special ordered. After the parts arrived, our technician Wayne did an excellent job as usual. These new circulators are quiet and have an ECM motor that uses up to 85% less electricity. Only the hot water circulator is being used now since the weather is warm, but I am expected to see more savings during the winter when the other two circulators are used for heating. Thanks again Wayne!

After a recent cleaning/tune up of our oil boiler, it wasn't running the way it's supposed to. It would fire up for a few seconds, shut down, try to restart again, shut down, and restart until it finally stayed running. Eventually it wouldn’t be able to start again and the burner would lock up. We would lose heat and have to keep resetting the boiler about 3 times a day. The burner model we have can be finicky when it's not adjusted correctly. I called MacFarlane’s service department in the morning, who said they could have a technician at the house by the afternoon. I was happy to see that it was Rob who showed up. He has worked on our boiler in the past and is always able to figure out any issue. Rob is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert when it comes to diagnosing, adjusting, and fine tuning a Buderus blue flame burner. After dialing in the correct settings, our boiler has been running beautifully, just like when it was new. Thank you Rob!

We recently had our annual service completed by service tech Wayne S. and I must say he performed the most thorough tune-up/cleaning of our oil boiler. He called ahead of time to let us know that he is on his way and would be here in 15 minutes. We have a high efficiency Buderus G125BE Low-NOx blue flame boiler, which requires a specific Buderus service kit to tune-up the boiler and is only to be serviced by a technician who has completed the training/certification by Buderus. Unfortunately, Buderus no longer sells this boiler in the US market so it can be difficult to find a knowledgeable tech. Needless to say, I am always a little concerned when any service needs to be performed. In the past, we’ve had a tune-up/cleaning from a tech that did not have the latest diagnostic equipment for taking accurate readings to adjust our boiler settings. This caused higher than normal CO readings as well as the boiler not running as efficiently as it should. Luckily for us, Wayne has the experience and proper diagnostic equipment. He adjusted the oil pump psi and burner static pressure to correct the CO issue. Not only did he clean and tune-up the boiler, he is the ONLY tech that has ever removed our smoke pipe to do a proper cleaning. By doing so, he was able to determine that a section of the smoke pipe had rotted out. He replaced the pipe and cleaned up the work area very well, went over everything he had done, and was more than willing to answer any questions I had. Our boiler is now running as it should at 90% efficiency. You can now actually tell a difference by the way the boiler sounds when it starts up and also when running…just like it did when it was brand new. Wayne is an excellent technician who is friendly, courteous, professional, and cares about doing the job right. Thank you Wayne!

So my air conditioner stopped working in hottest part of summer. Called MacFarlane energy my oil company and they sent out Wayne S same day in the afternoon. He was so kind knowledgeable and caring. I was nervous to deal with repair men as I am a single mom but Wayne and actually all the service people at MacFarlane are so refreshing and professional and non anxiety producing. I am extremely appreciative that they sent Wayne as he was so knowledgeable and explained fixing everything as he did it. Turns out it was not a major repair so that was awesome too!! Again MacFarlane energy and Wayne exceeded my expectations today so here’s a huge thank you! Great oil ac company great service and thank you awesome Wayne!! Dave was the service tech that did my annual service. Very knowledgeable and friendly. After the service he cleaned up the area very well. I would recommend MacFarlane to anyone who asks. The company also comes out when I have had a problem, with no hesitation.

Wish I could have given 0 star! MacFarlane does not do anything to keep their forced customers happy. Especailly the tenants who are forced to use MacFarlane services because of their landlords' annual contracts. Although I have cancelled my enrollment on the automatic delivery through their website, they tell me that they never received that and filled my tank without my permission. Although they told me that they were going to pull out the oil they never did and told me that they tried to reach out to me but couldn't which is not the fact! These things are not major and could have easily been resolved with a customer focused approach or a better online system which MacFarlane is clearly lacking. What is the point of having an online system if they are not capable to handle!!! By the way this was not the first time they messed up with online deliveries. The thing that really frustrates me was the behavior of the rudeness of the staff. Mr. PAUL did not hesitate to threaten me over the phone to put this into the court and accused me being . This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I am so happy that I moved out and don't have to deal with this company anymore. STAY AWAY!

A very good experience and very well priced....Paul busted his butt for me! His workmanship was pristine! Once the work was done, Paul patiently showed me how to use and caretake the system....Just Awesome - Paul is smart and hardworking and fastidious down to the vacuuming clean-up... I had 2 furnaces replaced and 2 AC units installed in my house by MacFarlane. The installation crew was top notch. They were incredible. They were polite, honest and most of all their work was excellent. They kept me in the loop the entire job. They even saved me a good amount of money by not doing some of the work the salesman thought might need to be done because some of the existing duct work did not need to be replaced. I HIGHLY recomend this company for any HVAC work you need done.

Excellent service, arrived at appointed time. Very knowledgeable and experienced with my type of hot water multi fuel system. Thoroughly inspected every component related to burner malfunction. Cleaned all parts, and was able to diagnose and resolve problem very quickly and had superior work ethics. Cleaned work area after finishing repair. We feel was an exceptional service visit. Terrible manner over the phone conversation. I had the complaints about the service I received today because I was made wait over 3.5 hours. Joel didn't even let me finish what lead me to complain, and instead yelled at me stating that either pay or he'l have the technician take the parts off and leave. No apologize at all because he refused to listen to the entire story which is not even long. I received the call in the morning from Bennet from McFarlane that the technician can come over when I just drop my wife at her office in Jamaica Plain. I told him that I would be back in 25 min to receive the service. But he said he would've put other appointment if I couldn't be available in 20 min. So I told him 15 min, then I was back in 10 min and kept the door open to let the service person in whom I thought could show up any minute. 90 minutes passed and no sign of the service person. Mind you that I had several errands and appointment I wanted to run if it was not for this. When I called, Bennet told me that the service personnel was still at the previous appointment. Bennet assured me that the personnel; Andrew would call me when he was on his way. That's how my three and a half hours of Monday morning was wasted. Joel did not even try to acknowledge the situation and in the loud voice he just gave me the ultimatum of either pay the full amount or have the technician take the parts off and leave. He failed miserablly as the representative of the corporation in the position to communicate with customer.

Had a problem with our steam boiler. MacFarlane did an excellent job. We needed to replace our 37 yr old boiler and get a new one. On the coldest days in late Jan. they turned out to be incredibly responsive and helpful. Got us up and running with a new boiler within just two days and kept right on top of things until everything was done correctly. i especially want to thank John G. and Jimmy M for their hard work and dedication to doing things correctly, and courteously.
