The best!!! I called them as water was pouring out of my toilet during a major storm. They dispatched Chris and he was in my house working 30 minutes later with a quick fix. My house sustained some damage but without Chris and Lake Cook Plumbing, it would have been a disaster. Chris was very polite and great to work with. I was shocked because that is a situation where a plumber could take advantage by overcharging and suggesting very expensive solutions. I would have paid whatever he wanted in that situation. We had a power outage during a heavy downpour; when the electricity came on, the sump pump did not.
Lake cook plumbing was there to help.
One phone call and we had one of the techs ready to help - thank you to Chris B and the person answering the phone (Annie?).
Both were very friendly and very professional.
Chris's assessment of the problem was quick and honest, which I really appreciated.
Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable in his profession.
We had also had some work done earlier in the year by another one of the staff Mike E(sorry Mike for the late review the card got set aside).
Mike also came in and saw the problem and fixed it straight away.
Mike also gave us some rundowns of items we can look into at a later time.
Both of these men were honest and very helpful.
So for me I would highly recommend both of these professionals for their great work and recommendations.

Cost was the main reason for not really recommending this service again. Sump & grey water pump replacement, and 2 silent check valves cost me $1500. After watching the work be completed, I could have watched youtube and completed the task for about $600. Why didn't I do it myself? We had water in our basement and I've never had a basement/sump pump so we were anxious to get the water out and in the midst of freaking out because the water I didn't think to check youtube. I HAD A WATER LEAK AT THE MAIN HOUSE SHUT OFF AND NEEDED SERVICE QUICKLY. I DIDN'T KNOW A PLUMBER SO PICKED ONE ONLINE WHICH WAS LAKE COOK PLUMBING. GOOD CHOICE. LYNN WAS EXTREMELY PERSONABLE AND HELPFUL. SHE EXPLAINED THE COMPANY POLICIES AND PRICING AND ASSURED ME SHE COULD HAVE SOMEONE OUT WITHIN 2 HRS. CASEY ARRIVED IN LESS TIME THAN THAT AND SAID HE COULD REPLACE THE WATER VALVE WITHOUT DIFFICULTY. HE GAVE ME A PRICE ESTIMATE, THEN CONTACTED THE VILLAGE WATER DEPT TO TURN OFF THE WATER. HE QUICKLY REPLACED THE VALVE...NO MESS AND GOOD WORK. CAN'T COMMENT ON COSTS SINCE I NEEDED WORK DONE QUICKLY BUT IT SEEMS LIKE A REASONABLE PLUMBING PRICE. CASEY WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. Other than the person that was sent out to my address was not able to find my house, so I had to call past the time they were supposed to come to my house to service my toilet, it was an overall good experience. I would suggest that the company makes sure that they visit the correct address when going to service the customer. I waited several hours for the service person to arrive, then they never did. However, when they did get another technician out, Josh was very friendly and completely the work on my toilet quickly and very well! Josh F. 07/22/16 |

Really bad experience. I called Lake Cook Plumbing and told them that I needed to switch gas cooktops. They had installed the first three months earlier, so I figured it might be cheaper or at least easier for them to do. I asked how much it would cost (ballpark) and was told they would know after I paid the $49 for visit. I said feared having to pay the money for nothing if the price was too high. They said there would be "options" and they'd work with me. So I said OK. Sure enough when they arrived they quoted me around $450 dollars, an outrageous price, just as I'd feared. There was no "working with me." Abt had quoted me $149! They did not make me pay the $49., but I'd lost a lot of time waiting for Lake Cook when I could have been calling other places. Finally, I did get another plumber to come out, who quickly switched out the cooktop and charted $125. He was also shocked that Lake Cook had not installed an adapter when they installed the first cooktop, which he said was very dangerous. Needless to say, I will not be doing business with Lake Cook Plumbing again. 07/18/16 |

Chris arrived as quickly as he could and promptly found the heart of the problem regarding clogged drain lines which caused our water/sewer back-up. I called this company based upon the great reviews I read. I was impressed by everyone I dealt with beginning with the person taking their calls. She was friendly, knowledgeable and arranged service the same day I called. Mike, the plumber, arrived on time and within 20 minutes had taken care of the problem. He was courteous, knew exactly how to fix the problem and communicated the information to me so I could understand the issue and the options for fixing it. I found the cost to be fair. Thanks so much to Chris for helping me by replacing my upstairs toilet and moving my piping so that the pedestals could be installed. He went above and beyond by helping to install the pedestals and even fixing a loose toilet paper holder for me. Josh did what I could not do. I had tried for over one hour to simply remove an old kitchen faucet. But, the nuts were "welded" to the metal washers. Josh came in and because he knew what to do, he broke off the bolts from the metal washers and lifted the faucet out. He did this in less than 15 minutes and I was very grateful. I did not receive an estimate until after the job was completed. And it was through email. I was surprised at the price because my job was just changing the broken showerhead.
