Great for reliability and and very friendly. However, place was left in a shambles. He forgot to restart the heat and water heater before he left. I didn't realize this until it started getting really cold in the house. Then I had to figure out how to relight the pilot light on water heater. There were boxes left all over the floor in the basement. Insulation was also left on the floor. We weren't sure where that came from. The kitchen was full of Corian dust, which he told me about and discounted the price if I would clean up. However, other professionals said that the Corian dust was possibly toxic and that there are ways that it is usually suctioned out to avoid such a mess. I'm concerned that some of the dust may get into our food. Finally, I was not informed that I would need an electrician until after he arrived. I had to scramble to find one who could come out right away. A really nice guy but I expect more from a professional. 04/01/16 |

We had our water heater stop working and called them on a Sunday morning, they answered the phone call and were able to arrange to have their on-call service technician come out within a hour. Their technician, Mike, was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose the correct the problem quickly to get us back up and running. He explained everything he did to correct the problem and also what may have caused it. I also asked about the possibility of switching over to a new tankless water heater, he gave me his input and was able to generate a quote for this right on site which was immediately emailed to me. Recently my sewer ejector pump went out and created a little mess in the basement. I called Lake Cook Plumbing and they sent a technician out in the morning. The technician diagnosed the issue to be a defective sewer ejector pump. The technician quoted a price of $1219.00. I asked the technician why is it so much? The technician said that they are expensive.
I felt like I did not have much of a choice ( my fault ) and told him to fix it. I thought the process was going to take 2-3 hours. It only took 45 - 55 minutes. When the technician was done I asked him for the new pump model/make information. When I looked up the pump I found it on line for $300 - $350 dollars.
I called the business number and asked to speak to a manager. I called three times and a manager called me back at night. I asked him to explain the logic that if a pump costs $300 dollars and it took the Technician an hour to install it, how is it that they are getting $900 dollars and hour labor?
I received all kinds of answers. Materials - a rubber sleeve and some PVC glue. Again my fault for accecpting the price but $ 900 and hour is unacceptable. Josh F. 02/22/16 |

Mike was clean, very professional, went the extra step, tested our water, ordered, picked up and installed new Charger water softener, explained about how it works, removed old water tank, he also drained water heater thoroughly until water was running clear. He gave us plenty of time to make sure all was well. Later the same day Moen kitchen faucet water outlet broke off in my hand (not caused by anything Mike did, the weld broke. I had a leak that required emergency service. Mike E. arrived within 45 minutes and quickly diagnosed the issue, wrote up the quote electronically, and was able to use some existing parts that I had on hand. He completed the work in about an hour and labeled existing shut offs in the house. Service visit price was somewhat high for the weekend hours, but considering the work was done within 2 hours of the call and I couldn't wait an additional day, it was worth it. We were dealing with major damage resulting from a block in the sewage line after an outside pipe broke. Glynn did a rearrific job on the repairs and while here also detected serious problems with our sump pump operations. The original pit was inappropriately installed and both the prime and back-up pumps were out of order. He expertly repaired all of these and even brought to our attention a few other non-associated maintenance issues requiring attention from other suppliers. Glynn is a very friendly, extremely competent, honest and industrious plumbing professional. Lake Cook Plumbing shoud be very pleased to have him as an employee and representative of their fine company, and we are very pleased we had him to work on our myriad projects. This is the first time we used Lake Cook Plumbing as they had acquired my previous plumber's business. I had an ejector pump go out and was lucky enough to notice the outage before any damage was done. Called my old plumber's number early the next morning and got Lake Cook instead. The person who answered the phone was very personable and competent. She explained the change of ownership, and described what level of professionalism to expect. Then they delivered on their promise. The Master Plumber, Mike E. followed the procedures as described. He presented himself well, we talked about the problem, he suggested what was required and prepared an estimate. He was polite, knowledgeable, worked quickly, cleaned up after himself, and then reviewed and tested the repair for me. He also provided some safety services/observations as part of the service. Hi my name is Georgia Katsiavelos and I currently have a service agreement with Lake Cook Plumbing. I have been a customer of theres for over 7 years. On August 6, Phil from Lake cook came out to service my kitchen sink. It was not draining properly. He took the proper measures to rod it out and discovered that was not the problem. He later came out on August 11 and noticed that the pipe was not properly connected and locked. It moved from its place and was the cause of the water not draining. I had several plumbers from Lake Cook that came out in prior years and did not find that problem. I was very happy with Phil because he got to the heart of the problem and properly repaired it like it should have been done years ago. Other plumbers told me it was from grease or that not enough pressure from cold water was going down the drain and had me remove my water filter.
