So we had Mike B visit our house to repair the A.C (that's right folks, LCP has a HVAC department). He. Was. Awesome. Who knew HVAC repair could be so wonderful. We had some ice developing on the compressor line and our A.C did NOT like that at all. We just moved into the house and signed up with their service plan the week before, but our A.C had never felt the warm touch of a caring professional before Mike. The time window provided was 10a-12p. No emergency fee because we had the plan. 10:33. Bam. He was there. Told us what he thought it was before even taking a look and he was right. Fixed some leaks, cleaned some coils and our A.C has never looked so good (well, I'm sure it has...it's 20 years old). He was respectful of my neurotic dog (most people don't "understand" her). He also did some childproofing to the box attached to the compressor and picked up all the debris from around his work area. Crazy awesome. They tried charging me $588 for an hour worth of work with $30 worth of partsI had to pay them $49 just to tell me that.so I sent him on his way and I handled the repair in 1 hours time when I got home and I'm not a plumber 09/24/16 |

I selected Lake Cook Plumbing after reading about them in the "Best Pick Reports of North Shore." I spoke with the owner on the phone who explained what to expect from their company, they gave me quotes before completing any work (which was very fair), Casey the plumber was very professional, knowledgeable, and I will definitely use Lake Cook Plumbing for all my plumbing needs. I live in Lake Forest and next time I need home services, I will trust the "Best Pick Reports of North Shore" guide. There's a reason why these companies have earned their reputations. 16 We started using Lake Cook Plumbing Services a few months back when we had a major plumbing problem that flooded our playroom down stairs due to sewage backup in the yard and we needed to shut water off in the home. Keep in mind this happened on a Saturday afternoon and we tried to get other companies out ASAP and they all stated maybe Monday, etc. But when we called Lake Cook they understood the serious of our situation and came out within the hour and gave us excellent service and worked with us to correct the problem the most cost effective way. We just used them for a air condition problem and again, great service and at a very fair price. The people on their staff are great and take the time to explain what happened and in very detailed discussions go over the options to repair the problem. My wife and I recommend them very highly. I wasn't home when he came. My mother in law said the technician was a very pleasant person to deal with. We were charged an insane amount of money for just a diagnosis. We were told they rodded first and then used the camera which makes no sense and I don't understand why we were even charged for the snake when if they had used the camera first they would have known the rod was useless (and they knew ahead of time the rod was unsuccessful the day before) all that being said I wouldn't have been too upset until I walked into the bathroom and saw that even though the toilet had been reset, the sewage material was not cleaned off the walls. I'm a plumber by trade but didn't have the equipment necessary to diagnose the job, but I know from my 10 years of experience in the field that the mess left was absolutely unacceptable, especially when you're spending that kind of money. 09/21/16 |

Excellent attention to customer's issue and skillful troubleshooting in diagnosing true cause of problem. Saved me from having to get a new water-fill tank for my toilet. Chris B. was courteous and professional, while at the same time providing customer-friendly solutions. Chris with Lake Cook Plumbing service did a solid and fantastic job! And just so you know, nobody gets a 10 from me because it's nearly impossible to be perfect ... but this guy came very close. (My only suggestion would be for his company to provide him non-latex gloves or something safe and sanitary considering "the environment "he has to work in -- as he had all the other necessary tools to fix the problem..) Thank you to Mike E. for installing my water heater, sump pump and replacing the faucet in my bathtub. I had everything go at once. It started with my water heater leaking on a Saturday night. I called Lake Cook Plumbing on a Sunday morning and Mike E. was at my house within the hour. It was a lot of work for Mike but he was very nice and helpful; explaining everything I was asking him. This was the first time I used Lake Cook Plumbing and I would recommend them, absolutely. Ask for Mike E. The office staff is very nice and they even call and send you emails to continually keep you informed...when theyre going to be at your your house and how long your part will take to come in. I called Lake Cook Plumbing at 9am and they had a knowledge professional who kindly answered all of my questions and fixed our toilet. The admin who called explained the process very clearly, they email you a picture of who will be coming and you are given a quote for the full service before having to decide. In would not recommend your company to my worst enemy!!! I felt that your company was trying to take advantage of me with you Ridiculous unjustifiable pricing!! I have been in the construction and facility maintence industry for over 30 years and know a scam artist company like yours when I see one. I don't know how you guys sleep at night. I will make sure that I will get on every social media site to warn potential customers of your unethical business practices. Specifically stated, on phone, I wanted only the most basic work performed. Yes, yes, says she. Wouldn't know it the plumber came & attempted to convince me that his best of the best, commercial grade product, guaranteed for a life time, etc. item was worth far more than the big box store would provide. In his comparisons, the plumber did not offer a realistic alternative to their product. Leaving us no choice but to shop around. The plumber chosen out-shined this company by 35% less & supplied exactly the type of product I wanted w/o question. In fact, he gave me several alternatives to chose from. Furthermore, included in the price was work the chosen plumber said truly needed to be replaced; e.g., a shut off valve was leaking (original part), one of the pipes was nearly worn thru. You priced this work too high. $1000 for the cleaning pipes and $330 for putting back toilet bowl...
You quoted simple job of connecting two pipes over $5000!!!
There was no need for the excavation job and 8 hours of work, the broken pipe was 3 feet from the ground!
Plumber came and finished this job for less than 2.5 hours not 8 hours!

Casey came to the door, introduced himself shook my hand and put on his booties. He first made sure he fully understood the problem we were having. He was thorough and methodical in attempting to address the issue and even called a longer term guy to consult on the problem. He offered a series of steps to diagnose the problem and the relative cost. When my wife balked at the cost of the camera needed to look into the drain tile, he offered asked what she thought was fair and the two of them agreed on a fir price. He invited us to look at the camera screen so that we too could see what might be the problem once done, took the camera reel outside and measured with us the length the camera went around the foundation.
We were in the process of moving a piece of furniture into the basement and he even offered to take over for my wife and help me carry one particularly awkward table downstairs.
