Thank goodness that I received an ad in the mail from Carolina Air. It arrived on the same day that my A/C unit went out. My then current A/C company came and gave me a replacement price. It was DOUBLE the advertised price for the same unit advertised at Carolina Air. I called them as the first guy was walking down my porch stairs and I am so thankful that I did. I had a new Lennox unit installed within 2 days of that phone call for HALF the cost and a larger unit! They not only cared about the unit installation being correct, they cared about whether I was happy and understood the product. When our downstairs unit died a month ago, we got estimates from four dealers. What first impressed me about CAC was the care the estimator took: he measured and checked everything himself, then gave us estimates on four different systems, using common designations for the components that I could use to look up information on the 'net. Every other company just offered canned options with vague titles like "Good" "Better" and "Best" and used names for the components that I couldn't square with the descriptions on the manufacturers' web sites. The installers were equally professional: they had the new system up and running in less time than they had promised and left the property clean and neat. Our 8 year old unit went out on a Friday and Carolina Air Care came out and gave us an estimate for replacement since the old unit couldn't be repaired. We agreed to a total and they installed the new Lennox system on Tuesday. Then a tech came out on Saturday to inspect the work that had been completed and see if we had any questions. Long story short. I had a 6 year old Carrier unit that froze up, and the Air Handling unit went out all at the same time. Dave from Carolina Air Care came out explained why the system failed. They provided a quote and said take you time and think about it. After a couple other quotes and research of the systems to be installed, I went with the one I trusted Lennox from Carolina Air Care.
