Two weeks ago, at the end of our home improvement projects, out air conditioner stopped working. We had a tech (Dan) come out and deduce that the interior condenser coil had a considerable leak. The whole system really needed to be replaced. They provided a move-n-cool so we could sleep and got our system installed within a few days. We were supposed to have the first appointment of the day, but because of a problem in the schedule from the day before, Paul and his crew showed up in the late afternoon instead of 8:30 AM. They worked until after 9PM to almost complete the installation, returning first thing the next morning to finalize the install. They did a thorough job instead of rushing to finish by the end of the day. We really appreciated that. Dan did the quality control check as they were finishing up and we had a cool house to enjoy once again. We had just had new flooring installed and the crew was very clean and made sure they did not make or leave a mess.
My only negative criticism is that they failed to notify us when they knew they wouldn't be able to make their time commitment. They called in the morning to let us know the crew would be late and to reschedule our appointment from 8:30 to 12:30. At 12:30 I had to call to find out where the crew was. I was told it would be 45 minutes and they showed up at almost 3:00. While I understand that problems come up, I did not feel that they were respectful of our time. If they had given us an accurate time table, we could have avoided wasting the whole day waiting for them to show. Had they done that, I would have given them 5 stars across the board. Carolina Air provided me with a reasonable estimate on a new air conditioner. Their installation process was smooth and had everything replaced within 3 hours. The following day they sent a Quality Inspector to verify the installation was done properly - this is a first for any type of work I have had done on my home. I got (3) estimates for the replacement of two systems HVAC. Carolina AirCare's was in the middle of the three.Â
The first person that came out was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. Carolina uses Lennox for their systems and provided me with a lot of material to go over.
Why did I choose Carolina Air Care over the other two competitors?
1. The reviews I looked at were all excellent at various web sites: Â Angies List, Â Google,Yelp, etc.
2. There was no pressure from the sales people, in fact, they encouraged me to get other estimates from providers.
3. I liked the price, warranty, and product.
All the other HVAC Systems American Standard and Carrier were no doubt excellent systems.
When I made my decision I did call the other two companies and explained my decision. Â One was very professional and simply said thank you for considering us, while the other was rude, very negative, and in fact, did hang up on me. Â In all honesty I actually had used this company in the past and when I told the owner why I chose the other company he made a number of poor comments pointed at me and the company I chose.Â
 I was given a date for installation of both units from Carolina Air Care.  I asked how long did they think it would take to install both systems, and was told (1) day.  Honestly I wasn't so sure about that.  Well when install day came I was told they were on their way to install both systems.  I was told there would be two crews.Â
The installers that came to my house were just "GREAT" they were organized and efficient. Â They obviously knew what they were doing. Â They encountered a problem with the opening to my attic that was not wide enough to get the furnace through that space. However, they solved that problem without causing any damage to that opening.
Here is the bottom line. Â They installed the system in 5 hours!!!!! They worked extremely hard, did not waste any time it was real obvious they absolutely knew what they were doing. Â When they finished they went over everything with me.
The following day a Quality Control person came out and went over the entire systems to make sure the installers did there job.
Both units were installed as promised in one day and working. Â
Carolina Air Care has excellent service Warranties, Price, and Product. Â So far I am more than very happy with my choice.

I contracted Carolina Air Care to replace 2 HVAC systems for my home in July. My standards were high and Carolina Air Care exceeded them. Jake was my first contact with the company and did a great job at addressing my needs. They came in within my budget without knowing my budget. After the install of the two systems I was surprise to see that a follow up inspecting was scheduled to check the installation. David noted an issue and addressed it on the spot. My initial contact with them was because my compressor went bad. Somewhat to be expected with a 12 year old system. Jack came out and reviewed the different systems that he could install and we replaced our 10 SEER with a 15 SEER. I had no previous experience with the company but their customer reviews on Angie's List were excellent, I trust the Lennox brand and their price was lower that others. Follow up responsiveness has been good to excellent. One example of both. Neither occasion for them to come out was due to anything they had done wrong. Once to fine tune the air flow and the other because a part of my old duct work damper with not working properly. Their office staff, particularly Larkin was most helpful. My registration for warranty was handled by them and they provided the form to submit to the electric company for the energy efficiency rebate. Their warranty on parts and labor is equal to or better than others. It has only been 2 months since installation but if their attention to details and responsiveness remains solid over the years, I will remain a loyal fan and call them for future work on my other properties. The folks at Carolina Air Care did exactly what we contracted to do. They were fast, efficient, trustworthy, and friendly. They also saved us quite a bit on the cost of the total job, provided us with portable ac while ours was out, had an excellent beginning visit and were not pushy or try to sell us more then we needed. Carolina Air Care installed a Lenox split system in our home two weeks ago. We had to sweat it out for 8 days before the new equipment could be installed (not sure if it was due to a back up on the installer or availability of the equipment.) We purchased a small portable unit to cool one room in our 2700 Sq Ft home while temperatures averaged 95 during the day and 78 at night. The new system is awesome. It keeps the temperature even both up and downstairs. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and left our home the way they found it. We were provided three system choices in different prices ranges for both the upstairs and the downstairs. My old unit died and I got quotes from a couple of shops around town. Carolina Air Care wasn't the lowest price, but they almost were and they were offering better equipment for the price. The service all happened as expected. The only down side was that the techs were at my house until well into the evening, but my attic is tight and I think one or two of them were being trained.
