Greg Smith, of ARS/Rescue Rooter of Laurel, did an outstanding job in repairing my mother's boiler. There are water pressure issues with the house; however, he stayed all day until he got it up and running. His demeanor was great and he never displayed any frustration. He was respectful to me and the property. He did not even stop to take a lunch break. Whenever the boiler needs servicing again, I only want Greg to do the repairs. Technician Donald Lee came to do a tune-up on our two heating units. He was very professional and courteous even from the initial phone call. During the inspection of the units he was informative, knowledgeble and willing to answer the many questions I had. His recommendations were not pressured but felt like sound advice. I first called ARS on Thurs (1/29/15) around 7pm. At that time I was told I would receive a call before midnight. No one called. The next morning (Fri) I received a call at 7:30am trying to confirm a 8:am appt. I informed him that I waited all night for a call and was unable to return home. I wasnt offered anything but service on Monday. On Monday when John Q arrived he was told this was an emergency call (5 days later). He was really nice, explained his job and the problem. Steve was pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. He quickly determined the problem with our nonworking furnace and had the replacement part installed very quickly. He was very familiar with our older heating system and was able to point out some signs of wear and aging that will eventually result in breakdown. When I inquired about purchasing a furnace in the future, he made some recommendations (from the standpoint of a technician who sees what parts of furnaces tend to break) to assist in a future furnace purchase. Quintin was an expert. He knew what he was doing on a complicated system and was able to make it work for us. The water heater, which we were talked into buying by the technician who installed our boiler, ties into the boiler, has complex connections and has broken down with different problems several times, costing us a couple of thousand dollars in repairs. We have really disliked the system and would not recommend that anybody buy it. But the ARS repairmen gave always been great. We would just like to see them less often. Quintin R. 01/22/15 |

We would like to congratulate Kenneth P. - Kenny from ARS Laurel, MD for a fabulous job done the first week of January to our AC/Heater. Got to mention that since we move to our new home in 2012, we have had problems with our AC/Heater unit. Since then, we have had Technicians came in for AC. In December Kenny was at our home for the winter maintenance visit. During this visit he noticed right away that there was a part that needed to be replace. I got back to him the first week of January when the heater broke down on us. He ask for the part and installed it the following day. After this was done, he went thoroughly through MANY other details that needed attention and avoid a major security accident in our home. This was pointed out by Kenny for the first time in the last 3 years. Professional Technician like Kenny is what gives us confidence to keep my maintenance contract with ARS. I recently had a tech (Steve) out to repair my heating unit. I called ARS and was told someone would be at my home between 10 & 2 and the tech was and he located the problem right away. Gerardo was the ARS technician who responded to our furnace outage which happened on a very cold night. His troubleshooting technique was straight-forward and fast, and his explanations to me as I watched over his shoulder were clear and logical. His diagnosis was quickly arrived at, in our case an inducer motor in the exhaust fan being inoperative, and when he returned to make the repair, it too was quick and correct the first time through. Gerardo is obviously one of the more experienced techs at ARS and his actions were comforting to my mother and I, given the uncertainty of being without heat during the coldest week so far. I returned from a few days out of town to a cold house. My heater had failed while I was gone. ARS was able to get someone out within a few hours, and he actually showed up before the expected time. When it's 20 degrees outside, you want someone sooner rather than later. Steven J was friendly, professional and quick. I came home this morning after a family emergency out of town to a cold house. Turns out the motor on my heater had conked out on me. I called ARS in Laurel and they were able to get an HVAC tech out to my house within a few hours. Steven J was fast, accurate, friendly and restored the warmth to my house quickly! It needed a part he didn't have on his truck, but was able to get it within an hour. I'd definitely recommend ARS if your heater conks out on you. I got a full furnace checkup. Steven Jones explained everything about my furnace, all the functions, how each part works, what makes each part have a problem, and how to read the diagnostic codes. He tightened all connections and made recommendations to keep the furnace running good. He explained how to use the thermostat correctly to save money and wear on the system.
