Last year, the actual technician scheduled to perform the $59. Air Conditioner System Check was JORGE. As I expected, feeling uncomfortable, he is no longer listed as an employee. It is apparent that technicians are pressured to sell services while conducting these economical "system checks." Alerting the customer to the need for some services is valid. However, what I objected to was what I refer to as a "scare tactic!" Jorge showed me a photograph of a burned furnace that HE SAID caused a home fire and was the result of not installing a power surge protector for a ECM motor. Foolishly, I agreed to allow ARS to install the surge, lightening and spike protection device on my motor for $199. Jorge removed the panel to the motor and pulled the exixting power harness, then plugged the ECM Protector directly into the motor, and finally plugged the existing harness into the other end of the protector . . . less than 1 minute and DONE! Unfortunately, I was hasty did not do my research prior to accepting an unnecessary item.The protector by Zebra Instruments, Part # VZPRO costs $24.45 on Amazon and can easily be installed as simple as plugging in telephone modules! But, what kind of surge COULD a natural gas furnace turned on by an electronic ignitor produce!!! And, more importantly, when I called CARRIER, they were not aware of any issue and the need to install such a device! I believe ARS pushed the need for this particular item to the edge by touting "safety." What a profit! Therefore, I say: When ARS arrives . .. BUYER BEWARE! Abraham A. 04/08/15 |

Ray Nial did a good job clearing our bathroom sink clog. He also did a quick inspection of other plumbing facilities, and did recommend the ARS product for use once a year in our drains, which I will probably purchase at another time. Rodney Simmons recently provided excellent service for plumbing issues we were having. He was very professional and proved his sincerity concerning his determination to provide excellent customer service. He thoroughly investigated the issues to ensure they were properly addressed, while educating me as the consumer. He installed three toilets, repaired our stack and installed a check valve on our sump pump. My husband and I have been loyal customers to ARS and its predecessor, John Dorsey, for more than 20 years and we greatly appreciate Rodney's tenacity in satisfying the customer by providing excellent service and professionalism. I had a problem with my gas furnace. ARS sent Robbie to diagnosis the problem. Robin did a great job in diagnosing the issue and explaining alternatives. I elected to look at a new system since my system was 11 years old. Robbie set up a comfort advisor to come to my home, Bill, within two hours. Bill was very knowledgeable and assisted me in selecting a new system and scheduled an insulation the next day. Tom and Brian showed up promptly at 9:00 and installed, tested and educated my wife and I on the new system. It was white glove service from start to finish. I want to acknowledge two employees from ARS Rescue Rooter Laurel Maryland. Antwon M. and Quintin R perform work at my home on 16 March to repair and underground leak near the curb area and my mailbox. The pipe had been leaking for a prolonged period and which I had assumed was runoff due to extending period of melting snow and rain we had been experiencing. The job was challenging because the area was to small to use a digging machine, (which was on site) and had to be dug by hand. I was amazed at the dedication these two men displayed as the dug a hole approximately 5 ft deep and 3 ft wide covered in mud from head to toe, essentially bringing out mud because the water was seeping back as quick as they dug it out. I was constantly checking on the status of their work because as we approached darkness I became concerned of not having my water turned that night. Never once did seem irritated by concerns but always positively assured me that they would complete the job. Believe me, I had my reservations as day turned to night. I was so impressed as they completed the job and assured me that if I I had any issues that ARS stands behind their work. Mr. Mark Torres, Plumber with ARS Laurel, handled a number of plumbing problems for me with exceptionally personable and professional performance, especially an old vanity sink bowl that was rusting out and had to be replaced. He found out where the ball had been dropped from a previous visit and followed it through to a quick completion. It was an entirely enjoyable experience. This time about a year ago I wrote a review for ARS-Laurel and Mr. Abraham "Abe" Albanez after having our new furnace installed. Last week ARS phoned to notify me of their no-charge follow-up was do to check on our furnace. Of course I agreed and was pleasantly surprised to see Abraham. He sees hundreds if not thousands of customers so at first he didn't recognize me but quckly did as I spoke and he hasn't changed and even asked about our dog. He'd told me previously how he'd come to work for ARS and said he remained happy with them and glad he'd opted to join their team. After his inspection he said our furnace is doing fine and left it open for us to purchase the Service Home Plan. I certainly would if I could but several large item purchases and budgeting keep me from doing so. I'm glad ARS sent Abraham, someone I'm comfortable with and trust and the personal touch means a lot and says a lot about ARS who pays attention to such good customer service details. Thanks a lot! Greg arrived on time and was very attentive to my issues. Although a comfort specialist should have been sent, he did attempt to address the issue of poor air flow. He did determine that the fan setting was set too high that could have been causing some of my issues with not enough heat. Mark was very helpful in figuring out type & cost of new toilet which is what I requested and in answering questions ,about my options. He was informative about plumbing problems connected with my situation--a good teacher.
Further,, since I had a contract for my plumbing and was concerned about a general water leak (high water bill from leaking toilet but what else?) he did a home plumbing inspection, educating me along the way to the state of various aspects of my plumbing.
