Had some major issues with a major install that required many more visits (i.e. Time off work) without compensatory consideration. If you installed a system that did not work and required compressor replacement, maybe a 5 year grant on maintenance. Instead I got 1 year because I asked. No service recovery for this. 09/28/17 |

During a blistering heat wave this team cam to my rescue when the insurance companies designated HVAC guys failed us. Within hours they had us cooling, then followed up on additional items that needed correcting. Once the system was brought up to snuff, we want cool, we get it. We want heat, we get it. Twice a year we see Dimos come to check us out and he diligently crawls into the crevices of the garage to inspect every inch of the system then heads to the roof to look over the compressor. They show up when they tell you they will. Everyone at the office and on site is 'customer first' focused and the techs even wear 'inside shoes' to never leave a bit of dirt. This is our team. I have appreciated the work that Unique Indoor Comfort has provided for our family, for several years now. From installation to service appointments, their representatives have been consistently professional, thorough and effective. Nelson and Ricky were simply outstanding. They put in a 14-hour marathon session replacing our HVAC unit. They were professional, efficient, and maintained a good sense of humor throughout the long day. At the end the new unit was working perfectly (and a vast improvement over the old one) and there was almost no trace left behind of any of the work that had been done.

Unique Indoor Comfort installed a new heater and air conditioner a few days ago.
The team at UIC is the most professional group I have ever met. They get it. Excellent service is their product. Paul, Tony, Mike and Charlie were always courteous and friendly. They are extremely knowledgable and they are good teachers, explaining the new system clearly and patiently. They went over and above what was contractually agreed to when they installed the new equipment.
I have no hesitation in giving Unique Indoor Comfort a 5 star rating. I could not be more pleased with my new furnace and air conditioner and with their service, from the beginning conversation about what equipment would best suit our needs to the final result, a much better heating and air conditioning experience than we had previously. We had a crew from Unique Indoor Comfort come to replace our HVAC system (furnace, condenser, and localized duct work surrounding the furnace) as well as our hot water heater after our very old HVAC died on us suddenly. After the system went down on us, we gave Unique Indoor Comfort a call and set up an appointment with Brian Brady to come check things out. Within hours of his visit we had a quote for the scope of work we needed done. Of course, we called a few other HVAC companies to get a comparison. One of the people we called actually recommended that we do the job with Unique since the price they offered for the scope of work was very fair. After speaking with someone in the finance department and figuring out the payment, we were able to set an appointment - just by luck, they had an opening just a few days later.
On the day of install, the crew arrived about 10-15 minutes early - a very good start. After arriving, Mike, Ricky and Felix did a walkthrough of the house (with shoe covers on as not to dirty the floors) to see where they would be working. Shortly thereafter, they began setting up - placing a carpet/runner near the entrance of the house and lining the floors and stairs to keep things somewhat tidy.
This was an all day job which started around 8:30am and ended shortly after 6pm. The entire time the crew was in the house working, they were friendly, thorough, and informative. We worked from home while the install was happening - tougher to do with the installation noises, but it was unavoidable. We regularly checked in (bothered) the crew to find out how things were progressing and to learn of any issues they found along the way. Ricky, Mike and Felix were more than accommodating and never gave the sense that we were bothering them with questions. In fact, they were happy to answer our questions and you could tell from their responses that they are subject matter experts in all things HVAC related. At one point in the day, there were no less than five or six people at the house cleaning up and carting away the old equipment for proper disposal.
The existing furnace was located in a rather tight spot in our basement and we were told that there might be the need to remove a wall to access the old furnace and replace it with the new one. Luckily Mike, Ricky and Felix were able to work in the tight space to get everything done which saved us the time, expense and hassle of having to replace a wall. In addition, our condenser sits on top of the roof of our three story house. The guys carted the old condenser down and the new one up without damaging the stairway walls which was tricky given that we essentially have a spiral staircase.
At the end of the job, the guys went through the entire house in the areas where they were working, from basement to the third floor, and cleaned/vacuumed leaving some spots cleaner than they were at the start of the job. Ricky, Mike and Felix also walked us through the basics of the hot water heater and some failsafe and safety feature of the new furnace. They left manuals and service schedule paperwork conveniently attached to the furnace and hot water heater so we could easily find them if we were to run into an issue.
Unrelated to the actual work, because this was a full day job, our kids were home with us at the beginning and the end of the day. All of the guys interacted and engaged with our kids when they could just as easily have kept blinders on and ignored them. My oldest was actually really excited to see them when he returned home from school so he could see the work they did throughout the day.
The system we had installed is much quieter and (I hope) more efficient than what we previously had. Given the timing of the install relative to the weather in the Philadelphia region, we only ran the A/C for a day before it was cool enough to just keep the doors and windows open. The true test will be comparing our utility bills this winter and next summer to those of years past. I'm sure we'll see some savings.
Overall, we could not have hope for a better experience. Reasonably priced, excellent, friendly and informative installation crew, and a commitment to make sure things continue to operate as expected with two included service visits for the first year after install. Dylan is an excellent technician. He serviced and cleaned the furnace, replaced broken parts made sure the area was clean when he left. Throughout the process he clearly explained what he was doing and why, asked me questions regarding the my sense for how the system was functioning and if I had any other questions, issues or concerns. He is intelligent and professional and appeared committed to doing an excellent job and to provide equally excellent customer service. Mike and Joie were wonderful service techs. They were prompt, professional, and helpful. Over the course of the installation of my new AC compressor and coil, they answered all of my questions thoughtfully. Mike installed a CO detector since we did not have one in the basement. The two of them worked well together and clearly enjoyed what they were doing, in spite of a long drizzle that got them wet when they worked on removal of the old compressor and installation of the new one.
