We had a minor problem with multiple non-functioning lights. It turned out to be nothing serious and we felt badly for having to call in professionals to come all the way to Conifer for service we should have firgured out. Justin and Pete were timely, very courteous any helpful. They even gave us a financial break, because the solution was so simple. Chris arrived early and was very polite and courteous. He went over the various plans and costs carefully and informed me of the work that needed to be done. He then went on to cover the walking areas where he would be walking on and the area where the water heater was to be replaced. He completed his work diligently and in a timely fashion. I was pleased that he cleaned up the area as promised, however, I was disappointed to see a burn in the carpet and he did not mention it to me. This was my first experience with Home Advisor and it was a resounding success. From the moment I clicked yes, have the contact me, the phone rang, on a Sunday. We set up the appointment for the next day. I am doing renovations on a house that is going on the market and we had some mysterious electrical problems that we were not able to isolate. Judd came out and walked through the house and what we were having issues with, then he went to the panel. This is a 37 year old with a very over loaded panel, as over the years more and more lines were added without upgrading the service. There was also no visible grounding system. Oh and then what we found behind the stove! Someone had hacked into the 220 V line to power a couple of bedrooms and there were bare wires with the ability to touch the stove. This meant there were outlets and switches in the house that should have been on a 15 or 20 amp circuit, but were on a 50 Amp circuit. This means that if one of those outlets shorted out, it would never have tripped the breaker, so wires would melt and possibly catch fire instead of having the panel do its job protecting the house circuits. So, I had them upgrade the service from 150 Amp panel to 200 Amp panel and install proper grounding rods. They also sorted out the 220V line and ran a new dedicated line for the other 120 V circuit. Daniel was the electrician that did the work and he solved all of the mysteries with the other electrical as well. They arranged for the building inspection and he was out the day after the work was completed and everything passed. One more thing: While they were there, I showed them a duct where the elbow had broken in half coming off the furnace that I thought was a supply line going to the bed rooms as it was blowing hot air into the furnace room. NO... they told me that was the exhaust duct and it was blowing carbon monoxide into the house. Great. They shut the furnace down at the panel and I called Phillip at Tipping Hat and said I needed that fixed a.s.a.p. He had the HVAC guys (Kevin and Nick) out that day and they came up to Conifer at 5pm for me. They replaced the entire exhaust duct as it had basically disintegrated over time and even changed out the filter. :) Now the house is safe and secure. I feel confident and comfortable in selling a home that is safe and sound, thanks to Tipping Hat. I never would have found them without Home Advisor. I am so glad that I did. Since they are a full service company, I will not hesitate to call on any future projects. And I can wholeheartedly agree with how Phillip answers the phone at Tipping Hat "I can help you". Both Justin and James were very professional and definitely know what they are doing. I thought I would need some cold air returns for my basement finishing project but they explained to me why I do not need the returns. Rarely do you hear someone trying to save the customer money! I needed a new hot water heater. I got an estimate from Tipping Hat Plumbing, Heating, Electric. Then I went to Lowes, Home Depot, and Sears to get estimates. I am so glad that I went with Tipping Hat. I have an excellent heater and it has a warranty for replacement, if necessary, for ten years. They were able to get it done within four days and Kevin and Chad were very punctual. In the end, I think I paid less, maybe quite a bit less, than what the big box stores would have charged. Kevin and Chad were made it easy to work with them. I have used Tipping Hat for the annual boiler check up, by Kevin, and for my electrical needs and I have never been disappointed. I definitely would recommend Tipping Hat to my family and friends for plumbing repairs. The job was done correctly and the pricing was fair. I also liked that the dispatcher contacted me regularly to keep me apprised of the technician's arrival time within the 2-hour window. Ok so these guys are about as good as it gets when it comes to being punctual. I just hate when you sit at home for a 3-4 hour window to have the guy show up 2 minutes till the end of the time period.
That was not the case with Jason who we saw 2x times and Judd to assisted with the instal. They were on the money with timing both occasions.
The problem was quickly diagnosed and the installation of a kitchen tack lighting fixture was very timely as well. They were very respectful of the home making sure the area was the clean upon exit and wearing boot covers when they entered. Justin B., Judd C. 03/31/16 |

I had an outlet problem, and not knowing an electrician, I picked Tipping Hat from the many ads and flyers that I receive by mailings and newspapers. Glad I did!! Although I had questions after the installation, I called, and Justin and Judd made a special trip to my home, answered my questions and concerns. Just needed to fix a bad outlet and was told by Brett that i would need a whole new breaker box that would cost 2400 bucks. I was pressured to buy the lesser fix for 1625 bucks. I should've got a second opinion. I was told by another electrician that if someone wants to change out breakers that should be a red flag. The house was built in 2000 so its not an old house. I love this company. They send you an email with the name and photo of the service person coming out. Kevin was on time and very nice to work with. I like that he was able to answer questions about all my concerns related to plumbing, heating and the water heater. I called for an estimate for the toilet and he was able to do that AND an estimate for my furnace. I didn't have to call another company! Working with Justin today to review my options for a random re-opening of a return duct for my furnace (just bought the home, prior owners boarded up the duct with the kitchen remodel causing short cycling). Not only was Justin a BLAST to work with, he was very courteous about my options. Tipping Hat BEAT my other bid by $900 dollars which goes to show you that you cant trust all HVAC people no matter how large of a corporation they represent. Also, when he was done and accidentally tracked some mud into the house (the shoe covers srpund a leak) he cleaned it all up without me having to ask. The last HVAC guy tracked TONS of crap into my house and just left the mess for me. Tipping Hat has my HAVC business and will be getting referrals from me until everybody i know has worked with them. Kevin & Chris came to put in a new kitchen faucet. That went well. However, I found out that they don't have paper receipts for their work. It was supposed to be emailed to me which it never was. I was having problems with my boiler for heating the house. Kevin and Chris came out and replaced four zone valves and brought my system up to code. While they where here. Kevin talked to me about replacing my 25 year old water heater. Kevin and Chris where able to do it at the same time while they where still here. Which was great!! We did not have to reschedule.
Both Kevin and Chris where very nice guys and did a FANTASTIC job for me. They both answered any questions I had and explaned eveything to me of what needs to be done for future maintance. If I am in ever a need for anything done to the house. I will ask for Kevin and Chris again.
