Let me just start off with this, my house was a mess as far as electrical problems.
I found out about Tipping Hat through Home Advisor, decided to use them based off the awesome reviews these guys had (and for good reason). I hired them initially to install a new outlet for the tv in my living room, moving an outlet out of the sunroom and 3 ceiling fan installs. Chad was the first electrician I had come to my house. This guy is one of the nicest and most professional people I've let into my home. Whenever he ran a little late or just needed to keep me in the loop, he always did! Chad and Nick installed my outlets and even replaced the outside one with a GFCI. They were very knowledgeable and explained everything to me perfectly. As they were going about their business, Chad noticed my breaker box was a model that is known for causing house fires, not to mention it was illegal because it was in enclosed space (sunroom). So he told me about it and recommended his Master Electrician Justin come in to take a look and verify that info. Fast forward a couple days Chad returns to install my ceiling fans (did an awesome job considering the wiring in my house is as if the house was built in the 1920's) and Justin comes a couple of hours later. Another extremely professional and knowledgeable electrician. Long story short, these guys saved my home from being burned down to the ground. Justin couldn't do the work that week but he had another electrician come in and replace everything. Steve was great as well. He didn't want to give up on yet another annoying outlet in my house and stayed until he fixed it. This company is amazing! I'm beyond satisfied with the work done and how they kept me laughing throughout the whole process! This was extremely stressful for me but these guys kept me at ease. I can't recommend them enough. I already gave my co worker one of their cards. Thank you Chad, Nick, Justin & Steve! Expect more calls from me!

We hired a handy man to hang a new lighting fixture. He was prompt to take our money, but left us with a light that didn't work and two fried light switches. He blamed our wiring. In steps Tipping Hat. Judd came out and diagnosed the problem. Actually, several problems all caused by the handy man. We ended up having to buy another light fixture because the handy man had butchered the other one so bad. After purchasing the new fixture, Louis came out, right on time, and did an outstanding job of hanging the fixture. We would highly recommend Tipping Hat to anyone else needing home repair. Frank was very good,fast polite.explain things. I decided I didn't want some of the work done . Frank was good with that. Now lets talk about Keith. Gave an estimate for work and I didn't need all of it done so contacted Keith and our versions of the original conversation are quite a bit different.Talked about it and got no were.Was quoted a 50 gal hot water heater and got a 40.Haven't had that conversation but it will probably be like the first. I saw an ad in the Neighborhood Magazine and called Amanada was very helpful and was able to have someone come out the same day. Keith came out and assesed the problem right away Only a loose nut on the turn off valve...he checked the flapper and said it was ok, even though I put the wrong one in. And the said "no charge" I could not believe it, I offered to pay a trip charge but Keith said NO......WOW I will use Tipping Hat again that's for sure!!! Kieth C. 08/26/16 |

The issue was corrected in a timely and in a professional manner. I had scheduled a 3-5pm window, but got the call a couple hours early asking if it was alright if the tech stopped by early. Since I was home, of course that's fine and I didn't have to wait around twiddling my thumbs. :D
Fixed my bedroom sink with a quick swap out of parts. And, while Frank was doing a Home Depot run for those parts, my garbage disposal decided to quit work and start belching smoke. Since that wasn't a simple reset button situation, he replaced that on the fly as well!
As for Frank - He was professional, courteous, sweet, informative, etc. I will definitely be giving Tipping Hat a call whenever I have something that needs to be done around the house.

WILL NEVER CALL AGAIN
Looking at reviews online caused me to call Tipping Hat. The very pleasant and helpful scheduling person made me believe they did indeed have good customer service. WRONG. I called on a Thursday morning to schedule a rooter for a clogged toilet line. I was a little surprised when they scheduled for Saturday without offering an earlier appointment or asking how urgent the call was but I took the Saturday appointment. Late Friday afternoon I received a call from Amanda, and when I called her back I spoke to a representative who said she was on the phone so he would help me. He looked up my account and said he needed to reschedule my appointment for Monday. I told him we couldn't do that, because the line was worse, we can barely flush the toilet, and we have a houseful of guests coming Sunday and we only have the one bathroom. He was very polite and pleasant but simply stated he had no one to send on Saturday. There was no questions about the urgency of my problem, and no offer to perhaps reschedule someone with a less urgent problem in order to keep our appointment. So I am left with a toilet that can't be used without five minutes of plunging in order to flush with a houseful of guests coming Sunday, and it is 4:20 pm ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON! Needless to say, I was upset and put in the position of needing to stop working so I could make calls to find a plumber who could come out before Sunday. Many were charging a fee for emergency service to get someone out quickly. It looked like Tipping Hat was going to cost me money before they ever showed up because of canceling my service call at the last minute. What good is a plumber if you wait two days for them and then they cancel on you at the last minute? I would have preferred a more expensive plumber that showed dup when they said they would. So BEWARE - if you actually need the work done when scheduled, you may be out of luck with this company! The story does have a happy ending, no thanks to Tipping Hat. The plumber I did find after Tipping Hat canceled came out early Saturday morning, was incredibly pleasant and did the most fantastic job possible. He charged us a reduced fee because it was a simple fix and he said he couldn't feel good charging the full fee when it only took him five minutes to fix. He spent another ten minutes telling us how to fix it ourselves if it happened again, and giving us maintenance tips and tricks to avoid problems. So if you're considering calling Tipping Hat, think again, and call Garvins Sewer Service instead. Garvins showed up as scheduled, and did a wonderful job for a bargain price. Amanda G. 08/15/16 |

Replaced our dead water heater with a tankless model and our old water softener with a whole house water filtration system. The service men were all punctual, courteous, neat, and it appears they did a good job for the new equipment is still working fine three days later.
If not for one issue, Tipping Hat Plumbing would have gotten 5 stars. My only complaint regards the routing of 1" PVC pipe across the basement floor, creating a major tripping hazard and making the area less functional. This seems like a very unprofessional finish to me, especially on an $8,500 job. If they had to run piping across the floor, they should have chipped a small trench into the concrete to accommodate it and leave the floor level instead of leaving the pipe PVC laying across the floor for us to trip over. From the time I spoke to Tipping Hats' scheduler until the completion of the repairs, I found the employees of this company to be pleasant, warm, professional and thorough. When Tipping Hats had a cancellation, they called and offered the appointment time to me, and I was able to have the work completed several days earlier than originally scheduled. Frank, the tech who came, arrived on time, evaluated the situation, and clearly explained my options for repair so that I could make the best decision for me. After the repairs were completed and Frank was gone, there was a small problem with the repair; I left a message on the company's voicemail, heard back from their office a short while later, and not long after that, Frank was back and made a small adjustment, and everything is perfect. Louis is a true professional, his work ethic is something you don't see very much of anymore. He did extensive electrical work on this old house and even though the house fought back Louis hung in there and we got a safer house. He goes above and beyond. had an urgent need for AC leak evaluation. tipping hat got the technician (chad) arranged and at the house within 30 minutes. chad was great, calm and collected. after very initial evaluation, he provided a "worst case" scenario estimate, but once he was in and determined/fixed the problem, the final charge was actually less. once he had the unit opened and determined the problem, he showed us exactly the problem spot. fixed and done relatively quickly. he even pointed out a completely separate plumbing issue he noticed, for which i will be using tipping hat to address in the future Chad M. 08/12/16 |

This is the second service call from Tipping Hat PHE and the experience has been a pleasant one although the news regarding my issue was not. They thoroughly explained what needed to be done, how it would be done and what the cost would be. I plan to call them again should I need any plumbing, heating or electric service.
