After meeting multiple plumbers who did not bother to really look at the system and just wanted to sell me a new boiler, Macfarlane took the time to really diagnosis the issues with the current boiler and fix it instead of replacing the system. It turned out my boiler was not leaking and that it could be fixed by replacing the low water cutoff. The estimates from plumbers were generally lacking specifics for the work proposed, in a situation where the current boiler was incorrectly installed and provided me no confidence of their understanding of the proper installation of steam boilers. Macfarlane fully explained the pros and cons of different options, and managed to get our system back to life without the need to spend thousands it would cost to replace.
