We had our new Heat and A/C installed December 2015.....Did bunches of homework and research to use the company that offered the best in service and products. Our installer, Bob and Dan were at the job as scheduled and were awesome on the install...they did not just rush and get the job done...they did it right the finished with all in good order....I just had the Summer A/C service and Austin and Steve came out. What a delight when the were able to come a little early....they also took there time and did a very good service. My research and homework paid off....and I would recommend Hays Cooling and Heating to anyone who needs work or new units. They were priced right....not the lowest....not the highest....but product and service goes along way. I was very happy with my decision. The office staff was also awesome, they kept in contact with me prior to the install and handled all the paperwork involved in the warranty. I've used these people for 10 years!!! Wouldn't even consider another company! They are honest, professional and very friendly and helpful...If you have a problem...they're there!!! Chris Hayes, the owner was the one that sold us our Trane...he had to fight with our home warranty people to get us the new unit because all they wanted to do was fix the old one that fixing wasn't helping and he knew that it was going to cost a bunch and not work!!! It was time to have someone perform the AC pre-summer check - it had been a couple of years and being new to AZ, I did not have an established relationship with an AC service company. I always try and find service providers using the reviews - Hays Cooling and Heating had very good reviews so I called them. They were excellent from the first contact; the person on the phone was helpful setting a schedule as well as promising to send a photo of the service tech before his scheduled arrival.
On the day of the service Hays called to let me know the service tech was on his way and that they had indeed sent the photo of Jerry, the service tech, so that I could recognize him at the door. He arrived on time was professional and quickly progressed through the service including going into the attic to service the air handler, and checking and cleaning the compressor outside. The total service took about an hour or so, they said the AC was in good shape and did not need any additional service or parts. No upsell, no pointing to parts I needed to be mindful of - just told that the units were in great shape.
They were conscientious and wore booties whenever in the home, cleaned the closet where access to the attic is and picked up any stray insulation that fell from the attic. After the service Jerry sent me a couple of emails detailing the service as well as the specific readings taken during the service. During the service Jerry answered all my questions and was very engaging.

Hays Cooling and Heating performed install of our two complete units in May 2014. Since then, Mike has been the maintenance tech we requested for semi-annual season checks and he has been super! Previously, he diagnosed an issue with our 3 ton unit, and hasn't missed a beat. He is dependable and courteous, and as a plus, the office staff is great to work with. We would highly recommend Hays for any service they currently offer, the team is reliable, dependable, courteous, and trustworthy. Very courteous and professional. Mike arrived promptly and explained up front everything he was going to do for the preventive maintenance checkup on my AC system. During his inspection, Mike took plenty of pictures of the items that needed attention and thoroughly explained them and the recommended remedies. In the end, he found and documented prior repairs from the other contractors I have used over the years that were not done quite right where corners were cut. Mike fixed everything and again showed us pictures of the work he completed to make sure my wife and I were satisfied with the repairs.

The company representative easily scheduled my appointment at a time convenient for me and both confirmed & reminded me of it the prior day as well as morning of. Manny our service man was easily recognizable by them having sent his name and picture to me that morning. He was on time and very helpful with giving his attention to both AC units. He assessed the needs of each unit, thoroughly explaining the problems and the various options available to solve the issues and made a case for starting up their maintenance program. Their fees for service were very fair and competitive. I have dealt with several different AC companies on other properties and none of them have been as reliable and easy to work with as Hays. This is our first time using Hays and we were not disappointed. Our system was not heating or cooling, so I contacted Hays to diagnose the problem. Jerry came out at the scheduled time and advised us the heat pump was not working. Since our system was 24 years old, our choice was to either replace the pump or install a new system, which would have been more cost effective to install a new system. Jerry scheduled an appointment for us to have a sales rep come out to give us an estimate. Bill came out the next day and gave us a quote. Bill was very professional and explained in detail about the different types of systems available. He did not pressure us and it was our choice to choose the system that best suits us. The installing team, Brandon, Dan, Bob and Ray were professional as well. They arrived at the scheduled time, explained the operations of the system, and cleaned up after the job was completed. The owner even stopped by, which, most times does not happen (very impressed!!!). The final inspection was completed by Manny and he was also top notched. Lastly, I will have to also give praise to the office staff. They contacted us when the technicians were about half hour away. I cannot say enough about Hays and would definitely recommend them. I love this company for three reasons! 1. Manny tuned up my 15 year old gas pack AC/Heater swiftly and spoke in non-technese. I could understand what was good and what needed to be done. He also charmed my dogs. You know what they say about a dogs 'people sense'. Every Hayes technician I've had out over the years has been polite and competent. 2. Frank was very knowledgeable and courteous. We have a yearly service contract with them but was surprised to see the dirt in our lines to the handler in the attic. This certainly was not his fault, but kinda dissapointed in the amount of money they charged for a couple hours of work. It was very expensive I thought. Almost 500.00. That is alot and we were supposed to get 10% off, senior discount and also because we have a yearly contract with them, Not sure that we did as it was more than orginially quoted.
