Very professional. Communicated what would be done before proceeding forward with the maintenance of the system. Took the time to explain the efficiency of the system and what the services would include when checking the heat pump and unit inside for optimal performance. Outstanding company from top to bottom! Customer oriented without being phony. Had my heat fail on the coldest day of the year and it's my fault because I knew it was old and deficient. Went ahead and purchased a complete new system. Scott came out, gave me an estimate and had the heating part of the system installed within 48 hrs! Came back a few weeks later when the weather was better and installed the A/C compressor and lines.

The service technician Dan C** came to address and issue I had with my communicating thermostat. After 10 minutes he had everything working properly. He returned five minutes after he had left and told me his office had instructed him to give me a brand new communicating thermostat even though the one he had just serviced was only one week old. I have spoken on the phone with representatives from Eric Smock several times and each time, they have been very pleasant. James came for our HVAC maintenance and walked me through several aspects of the furnace inspection, care and monitoring tips that I should be aware of. As a first time home owner (and therefore first time care-taker of all things appliances) I found this very helpful and informative. Definitely glad I signed up for the annual maintenance contract! I met Dan C** when I called Smock Heating & Air Conditioning (H&AC) to determine why our 4-year-old ******** mini-split ductless system was not heating properly and failing to defrost. Dan responded to look at the problem in less than 24 hours of my call!!!! He immediately performed a thorough investigation of both units (inside and outside) and quickly found the culprit --- a leak in the system. Noting that the system was still under warranty he requested that Smock be afforded the opportunity of working with the manufacturer to either replace the inside unit or send the defective part so Dan could install it. Dan is a RARE technician - kind, informative, sympathetic and so friendly. I immediately was able to communicate with him!. Then, more magic happened. Dan turned over the warranty issue to ASHLEY of Smock H&AC. She began the battle with the ******** manufacturer to honor our warranty, which they were not immediately willing to do. But their less than stellar response did not deter Ashley. She took on the charge, demonstrating persistence, knowledge and tenacity on our behalf. Little did she know that in the meantime, I was dealing with an emergency medical issue concerning my husband, who was hospitalized. Upon Ashley's persistence and refusal to give up, the manufacturer did, in fact, honor our warranty and sent us an ENTIRELY NEW UNIT; internal and external, plus other needed parts. It turned out that ******** had changed their components in less than 4 years to a state of incompatibility between the 2 systems! The only downside of this outstanding outcome was that Smock H&AC cannot install the new unit as they are not a contractor with the place where we bought the original unit and doing so will void the warranty. Smock H&AC is so outstanding that I'm willing to forego the warranty on the new system just to have them install the replacement, but I understand there is a conflict of interest between seller and contractor. DO NOT HESITATE TO USE SMOCK H&AC AS YOUR PRIMARY SERVICE COMPANY FOR YOUR H&AC REPAIR & MAINTENANCE NEEDS. You won't regret using this 5-star company.
