These guys are the REAL DEAL! Competitive pricing and I was attracted to supporting a local, privately owned business. I was not disappointed! From the sales representative who came to my home, asked a bunch of questions to find the system best for me. He’s was mindful of my budget and did not “up sell” me at all. I felt like family.

The AC condenser was frozen over and I was able to get an appointment the same day. Dan showed up on time with Covid mask and went through his checklist. I had manually defrosted the condenser and changed the filter the night before. When he checked the Freon pressure he said that there might be a leak and if they had to add Freon it may cost upwards of $400 to fill 3 or pounds of Freon. Our system is original with the house (1992 build) so we know it needs replaced. We're just trying to nurse it along till we can afford to replace it ($7000-$10000). The good news was that the pressure built up as we talked. Apparently, on old systems it takes longer for the pressure to build up on the gauges . The cause of the condenser freezing was a very dirty filter and having the AC set on cold (60 degrees) overnight when outdoor temps were in the lower 40's.
So it only cost the service call fee of $108. Dan was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and honest. He didn't try to sell me on an obvious need of a new HVAC unit. But I did get an appointment for a replacement estimate.

Eric Smock HVAC (technician: Tony) performed fall maintenance on our heat pump. He arrived on time, called ahead to let me know the eta, and explained what he was doing. Additionally, Tony and Logan came a week later and replaced an aging hot water heater. They did excellent work while wearing masks, social distancing, and wearing protective shoe coverings. Our guy came in and did his job politely and professionally. He texted to let us know he was on his way. He put on booties, answered our questions and always wrote a mask during our interactions, as well as inside the house. Our humidifier has a particular size so he has to order one and will come back to finish up the job. Their office also does a good job reminding us of our appointments. Our air conditioner stopped working on a hot Sunday evening. I called Eric Smock Heating and AC, and spoke to a helpful receptionist. A service professional Matt returned my call Sun evening within the hour. He was extremely helpful and set up a service appointment for the very next day. Dan arrived to help us out on Mon. He explained everything so well, and did excellent work to get our AC up and running again before the hottest part of the day. Thank you Dan and Matt! I was having trouble with another company for my mom and dad’s ac unit Eric Smock company came out the next day. I am so graceful for Daniel. My parents were without ac for 5 days and he fixed it in about 2 hours. My parents are in their 90s. So again I want to give this company a big THANK YOU. I will tell everyone that they are the best.
