My hot water heater died on Friday night. I called Eric Smock at 9:00 PM on Friday night and got in touch with a service engineer. Amazingly, they set up to come on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM to install my new hot water heater. They were on-time, efficient, nice and knowledgeable. It was AMAZING. Dan from Eric Smock Heating & Air was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I called their office in the late morning after our carbon monoxide detectors went off and we were advised by the fire dept to turn off our gas and furnace. Dan was at our residence within a couple of hours and checked our entire unit in a detailed and meticulous manner. He tested our carbon monoxide output and explained the way the entire system works because I was clueless. He was very patient with my questions and explained why our detectors probably went off (non-furnace related). I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for HVAC needs and will definitively be using them again in the future! Dan C. 12/09/20 |

Have always been impressed by the professionalism of Eric Smock Heating & Air. Our furnace stopped working last night. I called them first thing this morning and they diagnosed the problem and by this afternoon we had a new furnace and avoided some uncomfortably cold nights. I have used Eric Smock Heating and Air Conditioning for over a decade now, and they are awesome. They are responsive and reasonably priced, with high quality service. We once returned from a trip to find a problem with a water leak from a whole house humidifier. They responded at 11 pm on a Sunday, telling us what to do to tide us over, and then were at the door to fix the problem the next day, at 8 am. Highly recommend if you are looking for a trustworthy and high quality company.
They also recently installed a gas hot water heater for us. Their team was great. I am very impressed. They did the job perfectly and took the time to show me what had been done, including the new water cut-off valve now right over the tank, new expansion tank, under heater pan, flue, and hot water adjustment. Honestly, I will sleep better at night knowing how capable they were and that this is now up to code and installed with all precautions in place. Installers .. 11/19/20 |

This my second time using the services of Eric Smock. The work is high quality, the tech that responded to my house Kevin was very polite, easy to get along with, and courteous. I actually felt very comfortable with the workers they sent the two times I requested service. The only issue I do have, is the fee $108 just to get a tech out is kind of expensive. They do not apply the fee to any work that you need done, so you lose $108 automatically just for them knocking on your door. If they applied the fee to the cost of any work you needed done, or even lowered the fee to somewhat maybe $40 just for responding that would be fair but $108 is alot just to drive to my house. Adding to my review below, my semi-annual HVAC maintenance was today. Kevin Miller did my maintenance. He is always so pleasant and explains everything so well. Once again I highly recommend Eric Smock Heating and AC.
Original review: I came home from work recently one very hot evening around 6PM and the AC had stopped working. It was 81 degrees in the house! I called Eric Smock Heating and got their answering service who relayed my information. Very soon I received a call from Kevin Miller saying he could come right away. Since we have a maintenance plan with Eric Smock, there was not even an extra charge for the emergency visit. Kevin arrived shortly after we spoke and discovered the motor on our AC fan was broken. He was able to find a motor that would fit our 27 year old AC in his (apparently very well-stocked!) truck. Despite having to deal with a very old unit, he was able to replace the motor and get the AC back up and running. It was 83 degrees in the house by the time he was leaving, but thanks to his efforts, it cooled off sufficiently enough for us to be able to sleep in comfort that evening.
Kevin sometimes comes to do our maintenance checks in the spring and fall, and I always find him to be very friendly and knowledgeable. This visit was no exception despite the fact he had to interrupt his evening with his family to come to help us. The crew (Mat, Will, Bug and Mario) came on time, the installation went very expertly, and the workmanship was excellent. Exceptionally knowledgeable crew, neat and polite, installed the system quickly with tidiness and routine.
Matt and Will took the time to answer any of our questions and gave useful maintenance instructions. They listened carefully to our requests and for example installed a new AC condenser unit blending it well with our garden plants. They even gave us the Kidde carbon monoxide alarm for each floor so we will pass effortlessly required WSCC gas inspection
Yes, we are extremely pleased with the installation of our complete HVAC system.

On October 9th Kevin came out to do a system check on my heat pump . He checked the whole system and added some freon for me.He was very good and explained what he was checking as he went along. Since this was the second time this year that my freon was low he believed there was a leak and most likley it was the inside coil. I decided not to go for the leak test since I also believed that to be the issue because of water leakage inside the house which I had in the past caused by the coil.
I scheduled an appointment to talk about a new system since mine was 12 years old and a lower end one.
3 techs ( sorry, can't remember their names) came out on the 15th and installed my new Trane system. They were very efficient and courteous, it was rainy that day and they brought cloth to put down in my house to keep the floor clean. While installing they had to call in a sheet metal person to help with the return from my second floor. he came and took measurements and they returned a week later to install that piece. They did have me up and running the day of install except for the second return piece.
I am happy with my new system and the financing was great. As was the warranty.
I would recommend them if you need help with your HVAC needs.
