I have used Bottini for fuel and for service since 2002. During this time, twice I have run out of fuel because Bottini did not deliver frequently enough. Both times my pipes froze and I spent thousands of dollars fixing them. Since these incidents, I have requested MONTHLY deliveries during the freezing months. Although the phone representatives took my request, the deliveries have continued to be erratic. On one occasion the person I spoke to on the phone said that my request was a nuisance because in some months the amount of fuel they deliver is too small.
Right after this phone discussion, we had a large snowfall and my driveway (which is steep and can be blocked by road plows) became impassible. It was many weeks before the next delivery was made. I consider this to be unacceptable service. More recently, my furnace went off and I phoned Bottini to request that they restart it (since I was not at home). I drove to the house on an emergency basis to see if the furnace was back on. It was, but BOTTINI DID NOT SEND ME A NOTICE INDICATING WHETHER THEY HAD ACTUALLY VISITED MY HOUSE OR NOT. If I don't know this, I must treat each time as an emergency and drive two hours to the house if I am out of town. Again, this is not acceptable service. 03/19/18 |

The service was excellent to start but remains incomplete awaiting parts. I do find wanting a status update on the procurement of the necessary parts and a projected forecast for completing the repair. When we had a problem with the boiler in the evening before a storm (one of the many Nor'easters) I was quite concerned because I thought it would be almost impossible to get someone to come. I called the number and got the answering service because they were closed for the day. They said they would relay the information and have someone call. Literally within 45 minutes a technician was knocking on my door. He temporarily fixed the problem and said that someone would call the next day with a new part and replace the low water sensor. After numerous days of analyzing supervisor Mike Oakley and Tech Steven Short found the problem. When Steven arrived he pulled apart the burner in no time and cleaned the the entire burner. He put the burner back together and we made sure that the system shut off and started numerous times. Steven went over everything with me and asked me several times if I had any more questions. Although I ran out of fuel and it could have been a disaster, fortunately we noticed at once and Bottini came immediately. I appreciated the letter apologizing for this and offering a fuel level monitor. In general, I find Bottini to be very responsive. I'm sorry the opportunity for people to post comments has led to some snarky ones. I think no company can second-guess weather emergencies entirely.
