Our main issue for calling Amistee was the dust residue from a first floor hardwood floor installation. Barry and Tyler were on time and very efficient. They clearly explained the process to me and also addressed some issues with my ducts. They also took before and after pictures. They were extremely careful of my woodwork and newly installed hardwood floors. We have a large house and a basement and they were done in 3 hours. The work they did was fine. They were careful to lay tarps over the flooring for the big hose, wore booties over their shoes etc. But after 20+ years in this home, it was unclear if this was really necessary, based on the photos and pieces of duct work they showed me. Amistee called ahead to let me know the technicians were on their way. Rick and Darren arrived and were very professional. Rick explained the process in great detail. They have to cut large and small holes in their duct work in order to properly clean them. They put drop cloths down and cushions to keep the large 8" hose from damaging doorways. They went through every register in the house to push the debris down while the large vacuum hose suction pulled it out of the house. They use sheet metal and rubber grommets to patch the holes (they left extra grommets in case any fell out). They also took before and after photo and sent it. Is email. There was some upsell by offering a sanitizer but considering the ducts haven't been cleaned since they were installed in 1995, I thought the extra cost was worth it. There was a $50 discount through a coupon on Angie's list. Being new to the house, I obviously won't be able to compare before/after, but I feel much better about having the ducts cleaned. Overall I was very impressed by the professionalism of the employees I interacted with from Amistee and will be using them in the future. I had Amistee out to my house today and had a fantastic experience. Jim and Matt were both very friendly and professional. They arrived right on time, explained everything they were doing, and I enjoyed seeing the before and after photos they took! In addition, they took great care to keep my house clean wearing booties, using tarps, and padding for the vacuum lines against the walls. Along the way, they provided me with tips and advice to keep the air ducts clean in the future. What was most impressive was they cleaned the dryer vents, and decided since they weren't in that bad of shape and the line was short, they weren't going to charge me for it! We just had our air ducts cleaned for a second time (the first over five years ago) with Amistee since we had some remodeling done on our home this winter. Review is on dryer vent that had not been cleaned in 17 years. The dryer vent was long and had turns in it. Jeff and Jake were both courteous, friendly, educational in providing information on the cleaning process and did not mind being followed around for observation and learning purposes. Was able to see the pictures taken before and after from both inside and out as well as being provided tips on maintaining the clean dryer vent. Answered questions along the way and was not annoyed when asked. The process was fast and both made sure to wear shoe covers as it was wet and rainy.
