Contacted Allens to request service. I explained what service I needed and they scheduled the appointment on the day I requested. The technician came at the time promised and completed the repairs quickly. The technician finished the job explained what work was completed. Overall I was very satisfied with the experience. I feel the diagnostics were not done well at all. The fact that it was a quick reaction to the visual diagnosis and no other attempt made to tighten fittings to see if there was something else that could have been happening. This was a Edwards system that had a stainless steel tank, that was purchased from Allen's Plumbing new seven years ago without one follow up at anytime on the sellers part to see wether the system was working properly or not.
At first I was told that it was covered under the warrantee for ten years, then after the diagnostics were done on the tank, and panels, it was said that the tank had only a 7 year duration, and the panels had 10 years.
I did not get anything but a receipt when I purchased this system in good faith, and I did not receive a written estimate for the tank swap which took two people, a technician and apprentice, 4 hours to do. ( 8 hrs. total.)
Upon looking at the tank that was taken down and replaced, I found a loose plug on the side of the tank that showed the area of the leak. I brought the tank into Allen's Plumbing and have shown it to both Steve Allen and Kane. I have respectfully asked that a hard copy of my bill be sent to my post office box with an adjustment on the price that was charged to me.

Had Cory out for fix what I thought was a heating element problem in my hot water tank. It turned out to be a setting issue - a quick and easy fix. He made sure that things were working properly, told me that the replacement element wasn't needed, and had a super attitude - something tough to come by many times. First, the annual inspection was done and a cracked pump was found. An appointment was made in the afternoon and I left work to be home. A call was received very late saying that the techs couldn't make it that day. Then another appt was made and the tech discovered that he didn't have the part with him as he didn't know that the water pump was for a solar water heater. Then another appt was made for another day. I received a call early that the tech could come by my home within half an hour and I left work right away to go home. Then again(!), the tech didn't have the pump available with him and that he would have to go to Mapunapuna to get it. He could come back later and I agreed to lend him my security gate key and come back to do the job. Ultimately he came back and completed the job and returned my key. Three times to not have the right part and to cause an inconvenience to the customer to take off work is too much. I would recommend a better communication system between the techs and the home office to ensure efficient service. Also, going back and forth on one job can only cause more expense for the business. would recommend only to someone who can financially afford their top, fast service, I cannot afford anymore, hopefully job will be complete before I go broke. I know what the boys have to charge me is out of their control, Someone is scarping we customers to the point of ridiculous. I called about the need for repair after hours There was an answering service that handled the request. Shortly afterwards someone at the company called to confirm the situation. First thing the following morning someone called again to verify the need. Within a couple of hours the dispatcher set up a convenient schedule. The plumber Justin arrived on time. He was nice and respectful.
He assessed the damage, explained the charges and work. He did the job quickly and efficiently.

I was surprised when I saw Kainani! She is very petite, but she handled the equipment with no problems. She was very professional and quickly cleared the drain. I searched for plumbers on Angie's List and got three recommendations. I was going to call one of them later. Then Cheryl from Allen's plumbing called asking if I was looking for a plumber! I had a technician come out a few days later. Kainani was absolutely the best! She quickly assessed the problem and promptly took care of it. I propably called 4 other people before calling Allens Plumbing -- Then I called Dom Marino of Valley Isle Plumbing - he reminded me about Allens (who I used from my water heater install about 12 yrs ago ! -- I had simply forgotten ! I will not forget again. The service and price were "10" -- I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce and will be sure to recommend Allens Plumbing at our next meeting - Small business needs to support each other - We all need to hear the good with the bad so we can DO BETTER.
