I have joined PANN Home Service Protection Plan. I gave them an emergency call when there is a hot water and heating system problem and they have responded quickly. As there is a special unique parts needed to be ordered from the boiler manufacturer, they came back immediately after they have got the parts. The two technicians Peter and Pete both have worked diligently and fixed the problem. They also stayed further to test the system and verify to make sure the problem is fixed satisfactorily. Carpenter ******* *. was friendly, honest, and knowledgeable--and best of all, patient with all of my questions. I'm totally ignorant about home improvement. ******* gave me complete and understandable answers and solutions for future improvement projects. I have no complaints about the service, but I find the cost exceeds the norm. I called PANN for plumbing because my usual plumber was on vacation and PANN does my furnace, but I knew that I would have to pay much more than normal. 03/20/15 |

Great service, as always, from Pann. I always fret about service costs from all service vendors. Therefore I was pleasantly surprised that Pann was willing to work with us in regards to costs for a recent job. Had a water heater go out just last week. Very bad timing as we had a roof leak (the two were not related). We called Pann but were worried that cost of the heater, coming at the same time as other home repairs, would be an overwhelming burden to out wallet. Michael Bunik, Pann manager, worked with us to make sure we got a great water heater in a timely manner, at a price we could afford. We were really glad we called Pann. The Pann techs, Dana and Andrew (Drew), were very professional. Like all Pann jobs, they arrived on time. I was worried about complications in terms of getting the water heater in place due to our particular home and the addition of our basement door being inaccessible due to snow. I shouldn't have worried. Dana and Drew quickly found the best route to get the old heater out and the new one in. They worked in a very professional manner and finished quickly. They took the old heater out and cleaned up everything related to the installation. Even to the point of Drew making sure that there was nothing at all that may have dropped on the floors; a post installation inspection as it were. Besides the great service, there were two items that show the professionalism of Pann. Michael Bunik is familiar with our home from previous visits. Michael had Dana and Drew bring out a shorter water heater (I guess they make them in different heights, albeit with the same water capacity). This was because, on another visit Michael noticed that our heater would install, to meet code, easier if the unit was shorter. Note that this was simply Michael's eye for detail in regards to home maintenance issues. At the time Michael took note of the height issue, our heater was functioning properly. He's just that good in helping homeowners be satisfied with Pann's service. The second item of note was that Dana took time to make sure that I knew how to light (or re-light) the water heater in case the pilot went out. This wasn't trivial, it took a few minutes for me to learn. The upshot is that I'm now confident that, in the case of a pilot light going out, I can re-light it myself. I know that the instructions are on the heater but, by Dana's taking extra time to have me go through the procedure, I don't have to fumble around or worry that I'm doing something wrong. Woke up this morning with my furnace blowing cold air. YIKES ! What to do ?!
I called PANN, who came recommended by a friend on Blanchard Road in Cambridge.
I was called right back in just a few minutes by Michael, he set up a time that worked for me for a tech to come out. After returning from church, I confirmed a time and within the hour Ryan called to tell me he was on his way. Ryan determined the part that was needed and I asked that he replace any other old parts that might go bad. My system was installed new 12 years ago so I assumed it would be ready for a few things. After replacing the needed parts I am now sitting back enjoying the warmth again. The PANN team are now my " GO TO GUYS " when I need any HVAC ~ plumbing or other repairs around the house. Dana and Andrew were the crew to replace piping that burst due to pipe freezing. Arrived on time and explained what steps were needed to fix the problem. Took the time to answer my questions and got the job done in 1 day. Minimal mess and cleaned up after themselves. Most appreciated given the circumstances of not having water for 3 days.

He was really pleasant and identified the problem within a half hour (very pleasant on a cold Saturday night). He needed a part that he didn't have, and no suppliers were open, so Gil D. drove a good distance to bring one and to help with the installation. We're PPP clients (priority/quick response), and we couldn't have been happier or more relieved that the problem was fixed within hours.
