He was quick to arrive, diagnosed the problem correctly, and gave me several options and made sure I understood what work could be done to fit my budget and timeline. Last year I had a both my furnace and AC replaced by Minneapolis St Paul and they did a great job. I would recommend them Part of the cost of the replacement included an annual checkup. Nick T came out and I was very impressed even more than with the install which was also great. He quickly checked the furnace and it was all I was expecting. He then spent the time to further guide me on the use of the system, all which I thought I knew most everything about. He made sure the controller software was up to date and when he found out it was not he completed the updates showing me how to do everything step by step. I appreciated all the extra service, when all I was expecting is a quick stop saying everything looks good. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 7/15/2014 - Plumbing Inspection While calling in to schedule my AC inspection they mentioned I had a free plumbing inspection to use. Since I am new to the house and its been around the block already I thought it might be worth it. I did have some concerns and questions I could also ask. John H. came out and was very friendly and real. He spent over 1.5 hours reviewing everything plumbing related in the house and found some small areas of concern and some maintenance that will need to be done in the near future. We had a water heater that began leaking profusely. A call to Minneapolis St. Paul Plumbing Heating and Air produced a nearly immediate response. Placed the call at 9:30 and Shawn arrived around 11:30. Shawn had taken out the old unit and put in the new unit and was done by 3:00. He left the area clean and neat and was very professional. Even though he didn't have a 50 gallon heater on the truck, one was brought from the warehouse while he was taking out the old unit. Yesterday Mitch came out to adjust my A/C unit that had trouble for the last three years, it did not lower the humidity during the cooling season. He had been out last Fall to correct a heating problem, which he did, and said to call in the summer because he had an idea to correct the cooling and humidity. His experience and knowledge did the trick, he walked me through his every step to explain the system and what he did to correct the problem. Time for annual AC tune-up and also wanted estimate for new AC unit. Jeremy was very attentive to needs and addressed all questions. His visit provided a tune up and an estimate of the replacement costs as well as re-furbishing cost of the existing AC. The pricing was high (which I find consistently with MSP Plumbing and Heating when compared to others), however after working with the office he secured an affordable price for the AC and a new heating system. As I said in the last survey, the quality of work and people involved are fantastic. I was very disappointed in the $232.00 charge to replace two fuses on a fuse box that you installed behind the New A/C, when you replaced The A/C and Furnace last fall, it would have been nice to know you had put it in. I was extremely impressed and pleased with how quickly I was able to get an appointment as well as the timely arrival of Bruce A. I was instantly at ease upon meeting Bruce A. as he was very professional, pleasant, cheerful and knowledgeable about older homes. I had a long list of plumbing projects and following a lengthy discussion of each project, Bruce got to work and barely paused for the next 6+ hours! I have a habit of watching anyone who makes any repairs in my home as I always hope to pick up a new skill or two! Bruce patiently answered my questions and laughed at my stories while remaining focused on his many tasks. During the time Bruce A. was working in my home, another employee stopped out with requested materials. I believe his name was Ron? He too was extremely pleasant and helpful. Bruce also kept his work area very clean and cleared everything away when all of the projects had been completed. At the end of the day, I felt that I had made a new friend, found the one and only plumber I will ever want to work on my home and had several long awaited plumbing projects completed beautifully! I give the highest recomendation possible only because of your wonderful staff and your fine work. However on the subject of the charges of $232.00 to replace two fuses mounted behind the air-conditioning unit buy your company when you installed the system last fall, that I did not even know was there. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am. I have used your company for some plumbing repair also and as I told the technician Your prices are somewhat high but the quality of the work is worth it. Drew did a wonderful job of explaining the reason for the charge as a power surge could have blown the fuse, funny the other unit you replaced was thirty years old and no power surge ever blew any fuses or tripped any breakers?
I had asked Drew about purchasing the yearly service contract that your technicians had talked about when he first arrived, as of now I am wondering whats the point? I know you have to keep the lights on and pay for technicians and fuel. You might tell your salespeople that when they say everything we install is covered for x amount of time, that they throw in the disclaimer but when we decide to that we may charge you extra because that wasn't covered. The "deals" they offer with tune ups... feels like it is a way for them to get in your door to try to sell you high-priced new appliances.... Third time is the charm. Brian was our 3rd tech this week. I'm grateful to the other 2 but Brian battled the heat and the insulation in our attic until he found the problem. Todd M is a professional who did an excellent job and takes pride in his work. We had a rather large project including new water softener, water heater, garbage disposal, kitchen sink and faucet so it was a little pricey. Unfortunately, the water heater did not work properly and needed service calls each of the next two days after installation.
