The shut-off valves were not working and we were continually losing water. I called MSP Plumbing Heating and Air and they responded quickly and a repairman (Stuart K) was there within an hour. Stuart was very polite and introduced himself, asked how our water pipe problem started, and then gave us options as to how it could be repaired. He also took time to explain the different costs. He was very careful to keep our house clean by using "boots" and a cloth drape on the floor-- it was a wet day. The completed job looked professional and nice and our water problem was fixed. Stuart and his team came out today to install our new furnace and replace our water heater. Everyone was very courteous and kept us informed throughout the job. Dennis Jensen, I had a particularly difficult townhouse water heater replacement. Mike was timely, explained my options in a clear and concise manner and proceeded with the installation in an orderly and efficient fashion. He corrected some outdated plumbing and some problems with a prior installation. He completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and left the work area cleaner and in better condition than when he arrived. Mike's a true professional and deserving of my highest recommendation. They fit us in the schedule on no notice, and were willing to come out on Saturday at no extra charge if they didn't make it out that day. Bruce, the tech, did a great job of running a gas line for the dryer (the area was terrible to work in-very cramped) He spotted another issue with my water heater (rusted out) and gave me several options. He fixed the original call, plus made time to do the additional install of the new water heater. We had some interesting copper piping and he was able to re-pipe it in such a way it immensely improved the layout of the laundry area. Great job, I would recommend them in a minute. Tom E has been to our house for both spring AC maintenance and fall Furnace maintenance checks. He's knowledgeable, thorough and very personable. Tom was particularly fastidious in the spring when he cleaned all the cottonwood seeds out of the AC heat exchanger. He reviewed all the issue he found, proposed options for any upgrades we might consider and did so without any 'hard sell' tactics. I would strongly recommend him, and his company, to anyone. My Father-in-law is 92 years young, lives in his own home and his furnace went out in cold outside temps between 20 and 38 degrees. We called the Excel Energy monthly service provider, Homesmart who I understand subsequently called their
contract work for heating repairs, Midland Heating. After long delays and no real up dates, as to when they would be out to do the repairs the house was only 47 to 51 degrees in it with my Father-in-law, who is 92 years young, with all the warm cloths he owned on trying to keep warm. It took Excel Energy's contractor in excess of four
visits and days before we were forced to call out a professional on a fee for service basis. The first two times and days the contractor was out the technician just cleaned the pilot assembly and pushed some wires around and said that it was repaired. Needless to say, it did not last the night before the furnace would not come back on.
On the third trip out to the house, a different technician finally came back late in the
evening and determined it needed a new ignition modual but he did have one, since they do not stock parts especially on the week-ends. He advised that he would try
to get the required part and be out the next morning to install it. The next morning he
arrived and installed the part but the furnace would not come on. After conferring with
someone he came up stairs and advised the he was taken off the repair project and
did not know when or if someone else would be out. We then called Homesmart to
find out the status and was advised someone would be out the next days between 2PM and 4PM. I was then forced to call out a different fee for service repair service to
fix the furnace. Minneapolis St Paul Heating came out a the designed appointment time and fixed the furnace advising the contractor Midland, wired the new ignition modual wrong. Mitch P. 12/03/14 |

I had a furnace problem, service technician Joe M. came out and did a complete inspection and tune up. Replaced flame sensor and gas igniter. Furnace works great.

Both Mike Morris and Mike Marquart were very personable and knowledgeable. They came prepared to do the work with a fully stocked truck. He wore plastic boot protectors in the house to stop the snow tracking. He was patient in answering all our questions. He ensured our pipes/gas gage was fully operable and made certain we were satisfied with the work before his departure. We felt like Mike M. valued our thoughts and the work that he did.
We would use Mpls St. Paul Plumbing, Heating & Air again. The company has awesome workers who are polite and really tend to customer’s needs. They got me an appt the day I called. We like that the company has different warranties and service options to choose from and that all the service workers have Ipads that they can look up different work orders. The company is going paperless so you have the option of having the receipt be e-mail or having a paper copy be mailed to you afterwards. Going paperless can be a little daunting for customers, but the service workers are very understanding and don’t demand payment until work is fully completed.

This was my first experience with Minneapolis St. Paul Pliumbing and Heating. While the cost were a little on the higher end, these men did aim to please. Mike Morris wrote up the bid on his ipad. After the bid was signed, they began work that day with a fully stocked truck full of plumbing supplies. They were clean, professional and efficient. Was concerned about how my 20 year old furnace sounded when it kicked in found out today is was putting out carbon monoxide 10 times over the maximum allowable. Very scary. Brian A. very professional and reassuring made arrangements to start installation of new furnace today.
