I have only been a customer of Meyer &Depew for a year now since they replaced my 2 zone furnace and a/c systems. Their service, both technical and customer, are a standout from the other companies I have dealt with in the past. Service appointments are scheduled quickly and conveniently. They even call before they come so you don't have to wait around. Their service people are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable and stand behind their work. Vinny, went out of his way to explain things and meticulously solved a problem my system was giving me. It's not often I write reviews, but I felt compelled to after receiving such consistently great service, especially today.

Meyer & Depew far exceeded our expectations in providing us with a ductless air conditioning system. We've had enough experience with contractors in New Jersey to be concerned that any contractor, regardless of industry, will be easy to work with. Meyer & Depew put all of our rests to bed. From the very beginning it was obvious this is a very professional operation. Andre set the stage well by clearly explaining everything when he visited our condo. My wife instantly had a good impression of him; this was in stark contrast to the AC company we previously were working with. Their estimate was very competitive; in fact, it was a couple thousand less than we had been prepared to pay. Frank and Frank just finished installing the system after two days here. They were as professional and helpful as any technicians I've ever interacted with. They were so great. Words can't justify how highly we thought of them. How they interacted with us should be the norm but, unfortunately, it isn't. That's why it was so refreshing to work with them. There isn't one bad thing I can say about the Franks. I really wish Meyer and Depew would do more than heating and cooling. I would hire them for every project we have. They were that good!

Meyer & Depew replaced a 30 year old central AC system that recently gave out on a very hot summer day. I called first thing in the morning after the holiday weekend and they said someone would be by at 2:00 to give us an estimate. That was the first sign that these people were responsive. We selected M&D based on their reputation and our experience from 30 years ago in a different house, when we dealt with the father of the current owner, as well as for the comprehensiveness and knowledge of the person that came to give us an estimate, Andre B. Of the 3 estimates we received, M&D was the only one that did a proper job of sizing the unit, reviewing the existing ductwork in the attic, which was inadequate, and noting that the current unit was installed directly on the attic floor, directly above the bedroom ceilings. Andre did not hesitate to climb around in the attic on a hot day to scope out what needed to change for any system to work properly. In addition to the ductwork, he said the new unit would be suspended from the roof rafters, rather than resting on the floor, to eliminate noise and vibration. He was right on both accounts. He also, asked if we wanted to use a few window units given that it was extremely hot in the house and the install would take a few days to get scheduled. After we made the decision to use M&D, Andre came back to the house and installed two window units, which was a life saver over the next few very hot and humid summer days. M&D was not the cheapest, but by far the most professional and knowledgeable up to this point in the process. Andre provided 3 cost options, we opted for the higher efficiency unit that was designed to run for longer periods of time, at variable speeds, keeping the air moving and temperature more consistent. John W and Brian F from M&D showed up on a Saturday morning to begin the job. It was extremely hot, close to 100° outside as the day went on, and closer to 120° or more in the attic where they had to remove and take apart, a very large, heavy and old system and install the new system, along with some flooring to allow proper access for the installation and to service the unit down the road. The access to the attic was very tight, and required a ladder, which made the work even more challenging. They worked from 8:30 to 4:30 taking only limited breaks, and again, the heat in the attic was extreme. Before they began, they completely covered the area where they would be coming and going with drop cloths, and wore covers on their shoes as well. The lead Technician on the job, John W seemed to take extra pride in the quality of the work he was doing, and it showed. When they finished their work on Saturday, they cleaned up everything, and left the house looking as if no work had been done. John W and Anderson C, came on Monday morning to continue installing the system (it was a large and complex job), and again, worked all day installing new ductwork, the outside unit, new lines, etc. The third day, John W, Anderson C and Robert M, arrived to complete the installation, including running wires from the attic to the basement, installing the complicated electronics for the Carrier Infinity system, hooking the system up to our existing boiler, running the system and our heating system to make sure that whatever was modified or installed, was running properly, and turned the system over to us. There are many reasons people may decide to go with M&D, years in business, reputation, recommendations, lines they carry, Carrier and Trane, 24X7 service with a real person answering the phone, but none of these would be as important as the quality of the people that they employ. Everything I read about AC equipment, models, etc., and I did a lot of research, all seemed to conclude, that by far, the most important aspect of installing a new AC system was not which model you chose, but who you selected to do the installation and service. I am confident that we made the right decision.

I arrived home last night to find that our central AC was not working. Even though it was 730 PM I was able to reach Meyer and Depew and I was able to schedule a service call the next day. Vinnie arrived right in the middle of my time slot and was able to quickly pinpoint the issue which was a blown capacitor. He quickly made the fix and explained what was going on at the same time. He also checked the overall functioning of the unit. I am very happy to be a customer M&D for over 25 years.

We had out air conditioning unit stop working shortly after 4PM on a Friday night. When I called Meyer and Depew sometime after 5PM i was surprised to get a live person on the phone and even more surprised when Steve Lind got on the phone to say he was coming over immediately to assess the problem. Steve went to work immediately placing gauges on the outside compressor unit and double checking the indoor thermostat. He sat on his work bucket outside swatting mosquitoes uncomplaining in the extreme heat and humidity, keeping an eagle eye on the instrumentation. When he left at 7:24 PM the unit was operating well ...but he made certain to tell us if further problems developed, just give him a call and a tech would be dispatched. I would rate his service as excellent, and his riding to our rescue on a Friday night was, in my experience, amazing.

Very good experience all around. Alex Gallo was the specialist who priced the job. John and Anderson installed the units, and Steve came by to make sure that the job was completed and we were satisfied. We had to replace our 26-year-old furnace and central A/C during last week's heat wave. The furnace was located in a very small and hot section of our attic, which could be entered only through a crawl space. This certainly could have been a miserable experience. John W. arrived with Marlon on Thursday morning. They were both very friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable about how to tackle the rather cumbersome installation. They secured additional support to complete the installation the next day, and so Rob D. and Mike L. arrived to help. Everyone was so friendly, and did an excellent job. They also took the time to explain everything to me and to take us through each step required to work the Wi-fi enabled thermostat. I definitely would recommend them, and will call them for service, when needed.

Juraj (George) came on a hot and humid summer day to examine our a/c, neither the upstairs zone nor the downstairs zone were working. He was patient and persistent. Each of the zones/systems had a completely different problem. He was determined not to leave until he had restored some service to us. He was able to get the upstairs system working and to diagnose that the downstairs system had a non-functioning thermostat. We appreciated his dedication and thoroughness.

An extremely satisfied customer! I'm glad I went with Meyer & Depew because Joe O, saved me from a nightmare situation. I had an evaporator coil installed from another company who botched the job and my AC was still not working post install. I need to get a 2nd opinion on the issue and Joe O initial analysis on the problem based on the behavior was dead on accurate. The other company would have had me rip open my walls to replace the liquid and suction line set, which would still have not resolved the problem. Joe O is a great technician, he was able to address my problem in a quick, efficient, quiet, and professional manner. He also took his time to explain HVAC terminology and functionality in layman's terms which was easy to understand. He's also great from a customer service standpoint. I also got that from the overall company in general as well. After the job, Joe O took his time to double check the work, conduct temp and pressure analysis to make sure the numbers were correct. He also took his time to explain other HVAC question not related to the problem as well. Overall, it was a great experience which fixed my AC which would not cool. It's one thing to have knowledgeable techs but customer service which looks out from a client's point of view and a job which is done right the 1st time around goes a long way. This is Meyer & Depew's differentiator.

Vinny arrived within about an hour of my call to Meyer & Depew. After we explained the problem he told us how he would evaluate the problem and get back to us with his recommendations. When he came back he explained clearly the problem and made recommendations to replace the capacitor. He gave us a very fair price, we authorized the repair which was completed. He was very thorough in explaining to us the situation with our air conditioner and answered all our questions in detail. We were very pleased with Vinny's service and that of Meyer & Depew.
