Gas Valve on water heater broke and decided on full replacement. Russ, the technician who performed the install, was extremely helpful, both in explaining the what work would be done, even before we actually agreed to the replacement (responding at all hours to my questions, not just regular business hours).
On day of install he arrived exactly at the start of the time window. When the water shutoff didnt work as planned he stuck with it and called in backup (at no extra cost). Technician came to repair a bathtub drain that was draining into the unit below. He replaced the drain trap and a section of pipe. The technician said he would return in a couple of days to make sure the drain was no longer leaking. He did not return. Five days later, the drain is still leaking into the unit below. Very dishonest. I was charged $463.63 for what I was told would be a minor leak search and take 2-3 hours. After 20 min she was done. Put dye in the toilets and looked under sinks. my water bill has doubled. WSSC confirmed I have a big leak, Magnolia found nothing and charged me $463 for 20 minutes of looking at my exposed plumbing. Total rip off and hugely incompetent. Carlos was very responsive, professional, and thorough in fixing our broken furnace. I appreciate the call ahead to inform me he was coming. He arrived within the window of time that was promised. He quickly assessed what the problem was and order the part. He was able to get the furnace temporarily working, which was important as it was sub freezing temperatures. I had a plumbing emergency and could not be happier with the service provided by Magnolia Plumbing. It was my first time calling, so I wasn't an established client. I called around 9:00am and the customer service rep was incredibly helpful. They arrived at my house by 1:00pm and the team was respectful, knowledgeable, fast and efficient. Nelson Jovel a service Pro from Magnolia replaced our powder room toilet that has been there since 1977. He called and asked if he could come early, he evaluated the issues. He said he could fix it but we wanted a new Koehler. He went to the supply store picked up what we wanted. Removed the old one, cleaned up the floor and installed the new toilet. I couldn't just select just one description, I like the service, the responsiveness, punctuality, quality and value of this company. I was really impressed. Mr. Reed walked into my house and immediately told me that I'd had a history of having the same problem with my furnace; and told me that he was going to resolve the problem today. And he did! My heating system broke down and the highly rated hvac/plumbers I contacted in DC told me they didn’t know how to fix my energy efficient system (triangle tubes) . I had to call the manufacturer and found that only one company in the DC area had a certified Triangle Tubes technician. Saeid is the only person not only at Magnolia Plumbing but in the DC area that has done the advanced training to learn this new energy efficient system that will become the norm while other systems are made obsolete. I’ve never been so happy with a plumber in my homeowner experience. His expertise shows. He’s not your ordinary plumber but an engineer . He put the time in and worked overtime to get the job done to his standard. He also educated me about the system . The Magnolia "Service Pro" did not call my number to advise me of when they would appear. I waited for the whole two hours and heard nothing from Magnolia. I later learned they called my wife who told them to call my cell number. I received no call from Magnolia. My wife was later advised by Magnolia that the service person came by 15 minutes before the two hour window ended but could not get an answer. We live in a condo with a 24 hour doorman. There is always someone here and when service personnel arrive we are called. So I cannot believe that the person was here. I have another service call scheduled for tomorrow which was set before the non-appearance I mentioned earlier. Depending upon how well Magnolia performs that service I will decide whether to ever use it again. I can't say enough good things about Duane Cunningham and his crew. The entire ordeal of having break in my water service line -- while trying to move back into my house after an overseas tour --was stressful. Mr. Cunningham showed not only the utmost professionalism; he was also patient, courteous, and extremely considerate. He went above and beyond as I juggled a number of other contractors while making my residence "make-ready." His professional advice and work ethic were exemplary. During the installation of the new line, we found that Magnolia would have to cut through membrane installed by another contractor for waterproofing. Mr. Cunningham was extremely considerate and patient as I contacted the water-proofing company to supervise/inspect Magnolia's pipe installation so that the warranty on the waterproofing could be maintained. If all of Magnolia's staff are as great as Mr. Cunningham, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. Thanks Duane for all your hard work and assistance during this extremely trying period.
