Michael was professional and very helpful. He explained all of the options. He even came back to check on the furnace (the guy who came to do duct cleaning and turned off the fan!). I would recommend Michael. Thank you!

Monique was helpful at scheduling an appt. Lance diagnosed the leak in the water heater as a possible internal crack. Given the age of the water heater this was not a surprise. Bids for replacement will be coming soon. Have always had good service and work performed by Genz-Ryan

We needed a new water heater. We called 3 companies, 2 gave us estimates. Genz-Ryan would not give an estimate over the phone and insisted we make an appt. to have a technician stop by. At first we were annoyed. Now we understand why G-R does it that way. We made a same day appt. and they sent Tom out. Tom is polite, friendly, respectful and knowledgeable. He did a thorough inspection of our water heater as well as our plumbing system. He showed us the issues he found and explained the cause/effect. He gave us good-better-best estimates and informed us G-R is not the cheapest. We too run a family owned business and I appreciate that he explained value over price. The next day he came back and replaced the water heater as well as fixing the other issues we had. Tom is a good technician and even better man. We will use them again.

I did not get paper copy of the work order that specified needed to be done. Customer should have a paper copy or email of recommended repairs, Please send them to me when you when you have a chance.

Incredibly friendly, tidy, professional and knowledgeable technicians. Really took the time to look at our water heater issue. Super friendly, really knew their stuff. Delivered a comically, absurdly, ridiculously overpriced bid the likes of which I couldn't imagine. $4500 for a new water heater! There was some work that needed to be done regarding the venting, but unless they were going to have 2-3 guys working on it all day for 2-3 days, their hourly rate must be in the $400/hour range per technician. Amazingly high bid for a 4-6 hour job installing a $1000 water heater. Unimaginable. Still can't get over it. Will be telling everyone I know to stay away. Great people, crazy, crazy, crazy prices.

Initial service review. AC was acting up, called in a tech, Jeremy, who was very helpful in going over the system, what it is doing, how it is working. System is 45 years old, so Jeremy provided several options for repair or replacement. He was very responsive to questions and worked hard to ensure an excellent level of service. Very happy. Install of new systems is next week, so a follow-up review will be for that aspect of the service. UPDATE : Install of new HVAC and water heater went well, though we had some vent pipe slope issues that took 3 more trips to finally resolve. Very satisfied with maintenance calls so far.

The technicians and the customer service representatives were very friendly and helpful. I have only positive things to say about the employees. My only complaints are regarding Genz-Ryan practices and processes. I don't like that their bills are not itemized. You get one total price whereas most businesses show you what you pay for parts and for labor--makes me wonder if they're hiding something. The other issue is their communications. Before and after the installation of my new furnace, it seemed that I had to provide them my contact information every time I called in. Also, information given to and given by the technicians was not available to customer service reps when I talked to them. I also received multiple calls regarding the same thing. It seems like the left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing. Great people but need some help with process!

The pricing I was quoted was ABSURD for the work. I asked the hourly rate to arrive at the quotes and I was informed that there is none, but the pricing is based on the project. The process also took a long time, which I was not informed prior and had not planned on spending almost an hour just determining costs.

Dave Brown fulfilled all of the expertise one would need when faced with a home plumbing dilemma. He immediately found our problem, outlined several choices and suggestions for solving it. Once we decided what option we would take, he simplified our decision by setting up a schedule that worked for us. Shawn came as scheduled, reviewed our expectations and went directly to work removing, repairing and replacing our purchases. He was very knowledgable and efficient and completed the task in a timely manner. Dave Brown then completed the third phase of our installation. His professional understanding of our original voiced needs left us with perfect choices! The project could NOT have turned out better. Thanks Genz-Ryan...you were the plumbers that built our Apple Valley home 25 years ago. You are still our plumbers of choice when we need to update or maintain our lovely home.

I called Genz-Ryan as they installed the furnace and A/C - heat pump 6 years ago. The heat pump was freezing up and not heating the house properly. Thankfully, we could use the gas furnace to heat the house because the heat pump problem took far too long to figure out and fix! That being said, after several visits from a few different techs, and $1500 in parts and labor, Alex R. was finally able to figure out why it was still freezing up. My thanks and 5 stars to Alex for taking the time to figure out what the problem was. He stayed at the house until the heat pump had gone through several defrost cycles and was completely frost free!!! (Don't think I would have let him leave otherwise!)

I called Genz Ryan when my furnace quit working during the recent cold spell. They were unable to give me a definite appointment, but said that they would send a technician some time that day. I was treated with courtesy and professionalism by the customer service representatives on the telephone (Karen and Alexis). I received several calls to update me on when I could expect the technician. About 8:00 PM on a Friday, Noah F. appeared at my home. He put on shoe covers and immediately went to work on diagnosing the problem. He explained the situation and the alternatives for repairing the problem. He installed an upgraded blower motor and had the furnace working in about two hours. He was professional, cleaned up the work site and repaired the problem. Overall, I was very satisfied with their response and work completed.

Got the heating system tune-up. I asked if they clean dusty/dirty parts in the electrical area with the tuneup because I knew my furnace was dusty and most likely the cause of the issue. Was told on the phone that they would clean inside the furnace and when the tech arrived he explained that they don't clean and just diagnose issues. He did clean off the flame sensor which did help though. Just wish there was more explanation online to say what a tune-up actually is which is just a trouble shoot and diagnosis.

Mike came out to install a thermostat we had purchased. He not only was able to get an upgraded thermostat in, he explained what features would not work and why. He went through the set up steps with me. AND he talked with me about the water softener we had a consult set up for and helped me to order the right fit for our home and get an installation date scheduled a lot sooner that I expected. Amazing customer service!

Had a furnace inspection on a 12 year old home we recently purchased. Some electrical issues discovered, which was not unexpected, given the age of the unit. Offered a variety of repair or replacement solutions, all of which are quite pricey. Chose to repair at this time, with potential replacement in coming years. Explanation of the problems was very thorough, and jived with information on same I'd found online. Just wish their pricing was more transparent and itemized! Also I forgot to give them $25 off coupon they'd sent me. Maybe I'll get the additional discount for writing this review!

As a first time home owner, Genz-Ryan made the process of replacing and upgrading our furnace easy and pain free. They gave us multiple options on what they could do to fix our current furnace as well as multiple options on a new furnace. We were never pressured into buying a higher priced item and the technicians were always more than willing to answer any and all our questions. We will be customers of Genz-Ryan for life.

I have used Genz-Ryan services in the past and have been very satisfied. On this occasion I experienced some minor problems and discussed those with a member of the management team. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism that was afforded me and especially how open they were to satisfactorily resolving any and all issues related to my service call. This is and has always been a great company with wonderful prompt service and I would highly recommend them without reservation.

I find it outrageous to refuse to give the customer basic information about pricing over the phone; the goal being to oblige them to have you come to the house and charge them $99 to tell me what could have been simply told over the phone. This prevents the customer from being able to compare the different businesses and then to choose the one that best suits their needs. It guarantees you to make a minimum of money but leaves the customer choice-less. Not a good business practice!
