We were dealing with two different issues ..... fixing our drain issue with our bathtub was not what he was at our house to fix, BUT he took the time to listen and made the appropriate calls to find us the right service person, got us prices on the repair and even arranged the appointment. Then he serviced our air conditioner, explained what needed to be done to extend the life of the unit and completed the work in one visit. WE are very happy with the staff and service at Gene-Ryan. A service call was scheduled at my address 18437 Lafayette Way, Lakeville on 3-31-17. the service technician was very courteous. However by the time he got done giving me a quote for service obviously based on company protocol on his iPad I was actually quite offended (by the company, not the service technician. I need the AC unit replaced at my townhome. the first estimate was almost $8K including replacing the furnace motor because it could wear out soon. I asked him to take out the duct cleaning, furnace motor, etc. and give me a quote on the AC, replacing the filter in the humidifier as well as the 6 ft of plastic hose draining the humidifier on the furnace as he thought it was filling up with sediment. The price was still over $4K. at that point I said I will get another price on the AC but go ahead and replace the humidifier filter and hose. the quote was $224. Genz-Ryan must be a very profitable business if they can get customers to pay $224 for parts that total less than $25. I thought it would be convenient and save me a trip to Home Depot to get the filter and hose and replace which I have done myself many times. $200 labor.... give me a break! So I said I would pay $99 for the service call. If he had quoted me in the beginning what I asked for to replace the AC and if my math is right above that would have been about $3800. More than I expected but since he was there I may have been convinced to sign the order. However, after the exercise of trying to sell me a list of things I didn't want and some I clearly did not need and the pricing for a hose and filter there is no way I would trust Genz-Ryan. Now a new AC may cost $3800 from another service provider but maybe it costs $2000. But I have no idea what its worth as I feel I was about to really get "hosed" by Genz-Ryan. your sales strategy must work because some people may not question a quote. I felt like I was being treated like the helpless blond who takes her car to be serviced and the shop manager manages to sell her a muffler belt because it was about to break and someone could get killed. Genz-Ryan is off my list and you got my attention in a way that I have told a few friends the story with "can you believe that"? By the way, I used to manage a commercial real estate development and construction business for a family and I have developed about 6 million sf of industrial space. I'm not a dummy. Billy came in and explained the procedure for the annual inspection and promptly started on performing procedures. He was very detailed and explained things as he went along. At the end told both of us his finding and how things looked. The were no major issues but he also suggested items that could be upgraded as optional. I would definately recommend Billy in the future.

Lance on a prior visit diagnosed a leak in our water heater. We were not ready at the time for replacement so he came back at a later date with 6 detailed options for our review. Each option was thoroughly explained an one was selected.He was able to schedule a replacement that day. By 3 pm we had a new water heater that fit our budget. The installer was also very knowledgeable and efficient.

Excellent service by the technician replacing our water heater. Explained all options for fixing vs replacing. We ended up replacing and it was timely. A separate crew brought in the materials shortly after the decision was made. Very through out and clean. Answered every question I had. They use a lot of new technology for diagnosis and paperwork. Would definitely recommend.

Initial service review. AC was acting up, called in a tech, Jeremy, who was very helpful in going over the system, what it is doing, how it is working. System is 45 years old, so Jeremy provided several options for repair or replacement. He was very responsive to questions and worked hard to ensure an excellent level of service. Very happy. Install of new systems is next week, so a follow-up review will be for that aspect of the service. UPDATE : Install of new HVAC and water heater went well, though we had some vent pipe slope issues that took 3 more trips to finally resolve. Very satisfied with maintenance calls so far. UPDATE March 2017: Service calls continue to go well. Staff scheduling by Karen and work by Jeff is all top notch.

Pricing is outrageous. Not open to negotiation. Competitor installed unit with 9 year warranty for your "band aid" bid for labor/install only. Had hoped to use GenzRyan for central air and furnace replacement also, definitely not happening.

My experience was very positive. The response to my problem was very quick. The service tech was very knowledgeable and patient in laying out the various choices of solutions. Once I made my decision, he immediately started work on the plumbing problem. He spent time to make sure I understood what was being done. I would have given him a '10' instead of a '9' if the job site was left cleaner. I had a little water damage around the work site.
