Everyone I spoke to was very professional and friendly. I don't mind receiving a block of time to expect a tech but it was frustrating to receive a voicemail giving me a specific time and then having no one show up until 3 hours after that time. It was still within the original block of time but being given a specifc time that was not kept was frustrating.

Tyler was not only on time, they called and asked if they could arrive early which we really appreciated and had asked for as we had plans later that do. Genz-Ryan and Tyler go above and beyond to provide a first class service.

Tyler was very well informed,professional in his presentation and very personal in response to our questions. He was very careful, neat and clean moving around the house. We called Genz - Ryan to get a tune up on our furnace and air conditioner and after reviewing our equipment and it’s age we decided it would make sense to replace with new. Tyler was very helpful in explaining the best options that would serve us well in the future. We give him a 5 star recommendation and you need to offer him a raise. Merle and Jan Bryan

Selling our house and the buyers wanted us to have the furnace and AC professionally cleaned. Genz-Ryan came out and refused to just clean, insisting that he'd have to do a full inspection and tuneup because it would be unethical to just clean them. Did his thing for two hours and then told my wife that it would cost about $1,000 to fix the AC which was the most needed repair. She refused any repairs and he left and then emailed us the report. Multiple red squares were on the report stating fault this and fault that. Some others were orange boxes. This was on both the AC and the furnace! The faults were also listed out on the invoice which stated that we chose to not do any repairs. When the main office was called and they looked up the ticket, they stated that all readings were within spec and that NOTHING should have been listed as a fault. They said all furnaces and AC unit would have similar readings. So how is it unethical to do just the cleaning that the buyers and sellers agreed to, but it's ethical to use red and orange alert boxes and list out faults that aren't? I knew that having them come out for a $30 per unit cleaning, inspection and tuneup would be risky. They don't make money spending two hours at a job for $60. So of course the tech has been trained to find everything he can to charge and they use company supplied forms with scary red and orange boxes. Genz-Ryan won't be hearing from me again.

Matt M. was a super nice guy. Gave me lots of options to replace my water heater and didn't pressure me. Very friendly and personable. Offered information on services and repairs but didn't push me to do them. Let me know what they were doing each step of the way. Scheduling was a little frustrating but that's not his fault. I was originally given a time between 8 and noon. The voicemail I received the night before said I was the first call of the day at 8:30. When I called at 9:30 to see if there had been a change, they said a tech would be leaving for my house shortly. No one arrived until about 11:30. I would rather they had just stayed with the original block of time and not told to expect someone at 8:30.

Good: Prompt scheduling and arrived on time. Job requested was completed quickly, good quality and good clean up of work space. Technician, Bill B., was courteous. Bad: The work was to replace a defective water main cutoff valve (crack in brass valve body) that Genz-Ryan installed six years ago in a new construction townhome. GR would not consider a warranty and the less than 1 hour repair was almost $700. The tech spent more time inspecting other parts of the plumbing system resulting in over $3,200 of additional “recommended repairs” than it took to do the requested work. It felt like a fear-based “up sell”. GR probably should have done a better job when they installed the plumbing just 6 years ago if the issues were really that serious. I declined the $3.2K of additional work and will get a second opinion. I will not call GR for future plumbing needs.

Shea showed up right on time, within an hour he had removed the old water softener and the old toilet from the upstairs bathroom. The new products arrived shortly thereafter and he went right to work putting in the new products and rehabbing one of the toilets. Super job, we are delighted with the results. Thank you Genz-Ryan for having such a well qualified tech on the job.

This is the second time we have had Genz Ryan do work for us. We needed some upgrades to our bathrooms and water softener. Matt the tech gave us 5 or 6 options and explained fully what each would consist of and the prices. He had recommendations on what worked for him and what he thought would work for us. We are delighted with the service he provided and he is coming back next week to do the work.

Mike B did a great job on our furnace and air conditioner tune-up. He was very thorough and explained how we could improve things. It would help if at the appointment we were given written documentation of what was found and what our steps are moving forward and the cost. Genz-Ryan’s other services are priced quite high but I felt the price for the tune-ups was well worth it!

Dont like the high pressure sales from Genz Ryan - some technicians are somewhat offensive in going to the extreme with wanting you to buy a whole new furnace or appliance. Love the technicians that explain the issue and leave you with the feeling that they are accessible if anything else becomes an issue or have additional questions.
