I'm a firm believer in providing credit when credit is due. Jeff not only came out to my house late last night (1/29/2019 - 28 below zero) but he fixed the issue and allowed us to stay in our home. Many people (like me) take a warm home for granted but in a situation like last night, Jeff's work was truly admirable. These technicians truly can make a difference and Jeff did so last night. I would give them a 5 star rating, they are the best! We needed a new water heater and furnace. Matt came out and explained all our options. The next day Mike, Glen and Tristan were out to install the furnace and later in the day Shea came to install the water heater. They all were extremely nice and we will definitely call Genz-Ryan if we have any other plumbing, heating or cooling problems. They are also cleaning our air ducts. Mike M. 01/24/19 |

We came home from a long weekend to find out our furnace had gone out. Called Genz-Ryan and the person that answered the phone was very nice. Mike B. came out the next day and explained very thoroughly what the problem was. My husband and I figured out, before Mike B. came to our home, that our A/C and furnace were close to 20 yrs old and looked bad (we bought the home 4 yrs ago), so we were already thinking of replacing both. Mike told us our options and we went for new everything. They had an opening the next day for an install and Adam G. was our installer. He worked hard all day and took a very short lunch break. He told us that Kelsey, the electrician, would be coming by to make sure everything looked good. Kelsey took the time to explain the new thermostat and all the other meters that we had on the wall that we never knew what they did; now they are all combined in the one thermostat.

I would not ever work with these folks ever again. They quoted me a very high price, I trusted them but then got skeptical, I asked them for an itemized invoice and they refused to five it to me. Becoming skeptical, I decided to get a quote from an independent HVAC and Plumbing certified company. They quoted $1500 lower than Genz-Ryan! I had already signed the deal with GR, so I was locked into the price. I brought the price of the Job up to Genz-Ryan to their attention, but they said thats their price and I have to pay it. On the day of the job, 4 GR guys showed up for a 2 person job. I had people sitting in my driveway for over 2 1/2 hours or more (because I had to leave for work) drinking coffee waiting for parts to arrive and an electrician to do his work. I live in a town home. My utility room is the size of a coat closet. Why would you ever send that many people for a two person job. I paid for excessive fees on labor for a small job. Insult to injury, their work did not even meet code for our city inspectors. Now I have to deal with them on fixing their faulty work. A week later I had a plumbing issue with my sink. i called their competitor, got a fair market price and have no issues with their work. It was awesome. Came home to a wife and baby in a house without heat. 55 degrees when the thermostat was set to 72. Contacted Genz-Ryan and they were able to come out before noon. I was very impressed with their communication through the chat, phone calls, and even a text message giving you a picture and bio of the technician on the way. I thought that was super cool! Their technician,Tyler, was great. Very personable and friendly. He worked quickly and efficiently to get my home and family comfortable and out of the icebox. He explained and showed me what had gone wrong as well as potential issues in the future for my aging AC unit. Definitely recommend them for your HVAC needs. I love those guys! I had a service call and received excellent service from my tech, Zach. He thoroughly check out my furnace and assured me everything was working great. He check my thermostats and even looked at my AC unit. He suggested that it would be wise to cover it for the winter. I asked if I could get a cover from Genz-Ryan and he said "yes". Not only did he check to see if they had a cover available for my model AC, he drove 1/2 hour to pick it up and return to install it! I have used Genz-Ryan for my HVAC needs for the past two years and have been very satisfied with their expertise and service. I highly recommend them for their HVAC services. I booked a furnace checkup in september for November. In November they called to reschedule for Jan 8 due to emergencies. On the morning of January 8, they called to reschedule to the morning of Jan 11 again due to emergencies. at 11 am on the 11th, they called to say my appointment was between 12-5 and was that okay? I had only been waiting since 8am. I told them I wasn't happy with their service. When the technician arrived a little after 2, he tried to talk me out of the appointment because I wasn't a regular customer and hadn't bought the furnace from them. He was quite belligerent so I said if he didn't want to do the tune up, he could leave. No, he said, I get paid either way. I cannot believe the horrible attitude of these people Never again! The entire team from their estimators and sales reps to their greenest service technicians and service director is highly responsive, excellent listeners, gracious, considerate, transparent in their processes, and they take responsibility for everything they do, including the work of their subcontractors. I trust this company do do what they say they will do and to make it right if anything goes awry.

Service Tech Mike Sippel came out to check furnace as part of our Genz-Ryan service plan. He went above and beyond what I expected. He was very personable and explained things to me and answered a lot of questions. He also looked up a plumbing question I had about the Osmosis system, and that is not his field of expertise. You guys are very lucky to have Mike S! He was knowledgeable, courteous with a great sense of humor! We moved in a new construction home recently. Once in a while, we'd hear a knocking noise which seemed to come from every which direction. We finally figured out it happened after we used hot water. Mike figured out where the problem was, crawled in the attic, fixed the problem and explained what the problem was while showing me the pictures he took. He then waited for a while to make sure the problem was solved. Also when he was checking the water heater, he noticed that the air to air exchange unit was on the wrong setting. He wrote down what the setting should be during each season and different temperatures next to it. His expertise fixed the "why is this bedroom so cold" problem. I'm not sure which one I am more excited about. Not having to listen to the annoying noise anymore or not having to go to bed in socks and mittens! He is the best! 01/04/19 |

OMG! I can't say enough about Mike. Genz Ryan is very fortunate to have him. Had a knocking noise all over the house after we ran hot water since we moved in our new construction home a few months ago. He listened for a few minutes and knew what was wrong. He crawled into the attic - which was not an easy task! He showed me pictures he had taken and explained what he did. Then he sat with me and listened to make sure the noise was gone. An unexpected bonus was that while checking on the water heater, he noticed the air to air exchange was at the wrong setting. On the wall next to it, he wrote down what the right setting should be for every season and outside temp. I won't be freezing in the bedroom again!
