Mike Kubish was terrific. As it turns out we grew up in the same neighborhood in Newington and had plenty to share with each other at the end of his work assignment. Just like Joe and Rocco on the plumbing side, Mike is a great ambassador for Aiello. All of my experiences with Aiello over the years have been enjoyable, and every Tech or CSR has been very pleasant as well as exceptionally professional. Also let's not forget about Tim Lynch, the Comfort Adviser who went above and beyond to make sure we had the right Heating and Cooling System installed in 2005 to enhance extreme customer satisfaction. Aiello Home Services is an outstanding example of what an exceptionally well run business is all about.

After leaving messages with the plumber who plumbed the house when it was built and received no response to my calls, I called Aiello. Mike D. arrived at our home precisely at the time the work was scheduled. He replaced an outdoor faucet located in our garage which had frozen during the past winter. The job was complicated by the fact that no turnoff valve had been installed on an inside wall because the house, which was built on a rock ledge, had no crawlspace under the area adjacent to the garage. Mike assessed quickly the best alternative and went about the installation with material which wsa clearly superior to the original. His attention to detail as well as his polite and cheerful manner and advice regarding how best to insulate the area around the fixture were sincerely appreciated. We recently had a home energy audit by Aiello. Jesse C. was very professional and knowledgable when testing and analyzing my home. He and his associate, Joe, were here for about 6 hours and when they left my home was more energy efficient and I had a recommendation for furthur followup. There was absolutely NO sales pressure.
We became familiar with each other after several hours and even shared some personal conversation over a soft drink (and a few nachos). The free estimate cost me over $100.00, so be careful when you set it up. Of the three estimates I received, Aiello's was the highest by a margin of 30%. If you do hire them consider if you are willing to pay a 30% premium for what they advertise. Keep in mind I was promised a free estimate that cost me over $100.00
I had rust in my water, the plumber tried to sell me a new hot water heater among other fixes because he rationalized that is where the rust is coming from. Hot water heaters have a glass bottle where the water is stored - rust in glass? I don't think so, I have well water, sediments can cause rust. Our Aiello technician, Shawn, did a great job today, first by explaining what he and his assistant were going to do and how they were going to do it, and then following through very efficiently. Shawn also had a great suggestion for how we could make our attic entry more easily accessible, and we went with his suggestion. In short , Aiello or any other company could not put a better representative in the field ! We had incurred several problems with our new Heating & Cooling system. As it turned out , the problems were basically caused by poor communication regarding newly introduced equipment by the manufacturer to Aiello . Terry used his own significant knowledge to muddle problems that were not at the fault of Aiello . Regardless , every time we called him he was understanding and extremely polite . Each time he promptly came to the house and did all he could possibly do to reslove our issues . He had to spend hours dealing with the manufacturer over problems they caused and got it fixed. While I am very impressed with his technical ability , I am much more impressed by his " people skills ". I admit that I wasn't the easiest person to deal with and sometimes was less than patient . Jesse and Willie from Aiello Home Services recently performed a whole-house energy audit on our home, part of the CL&P Energy Wise campaign. For a modest $99, These two professionals spent about 6 hours inspecting our home an correcting energy wasting features. Jesse sat with me, literally for a couple of hours, to review building science (a hobby of mine) and discuss the pros and cons of the various energy saving options appropriate for our home. Willie replaced many incandescent bulbs with efficient fluorescent bulbs, as well as aerators, and inspected weather-stripping on windows and doors. They performed a blower door test, and inspected several areas of our home, looking for leaks and energy robbing appliances. I was very impressed with the knowledge that Jesse and Willie brought to the table - they were both professional and courteous, and most importantly, well informed. Building science is something I have read about for years, and I found the these two able to answer every question I posed. I never received any pressure whatsoever to purchase additional services - they offered information only when I asked for it.
