Nick replaced the waste and drain pipes, as well as the steam return pipe in my home. He brought the plumbing up to code and explained the job every step of the way. He is very courteous, showed up on time for the job, and does excellent neat, clean work. He made a big job seem easy. I also very much appreciated the respect given to my home with protecting my floors. You couldn’t even tell work was done outside of seeing the great job. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and he explained in detail the work that he performed concerning replacing the waste pipe, drain pipes and steam return pipe, as well as other related tasks. The part that was replaced did not work. I was told that it might not work. The cost of the second part would be too expensive for a 15 year old stove. Universe returned all of the money it charged. I have used them before and find them to be a breathe of fresh air in the appliance repair world. Tom, the technician, was especially professional and courteous. 11/16/18 |

I lost heat in my house today. I called Universe and within two hours Joe F came. He was very pleasant to deal & very courteous. He got the job done within an hour. I have a service contract with Universe and I recommend it to everybody. I didn’t have to pay anything out-of-pocket for the repairs that probably would’ve cost over $1000. I had no heat going to my second floor and it was "freezing". I called Universe Appliance Repairs and within 1 hour a repairman responded to my call. The repairman was Steve B. Jason was very nice and efficient...arrived on time and answered all of my questions.....My complaint is with whom ever decides what the cost of a repair is. Jason told me i needed a fan motor and module for my burner. Since he would not quote a price for repair i took the model and serial # from the burner and checked the price on the Trane's web. That price for the parts was around $800 for the parts alone. A few days later someone from the office quoted me a price of $2548.00 to repair the burner!!!!! WHY????? I then called another plumber and he asked me to order the parts on ******( cost me $740) and he would install the parts and charge me $200 .This is the 2nd time your offices have quoted me exorbitant prices for repair work ( in the past about my hot water heater) WHY???? i have called your service many times in the past, but not any more... Jimmy was flawless.I needed some things tightened up.I wanted my UV light to only come on when blower comes on for A/c.Jimmy accessed the wiring and installed a relay.I had 9 back surgeries and didn’t need to climb a ladder and turn my UV light on every time I wanted it on.The UV light is important to me having damaged lungs from 9/11 and Jimmy made me feel comfortable showing me it going on when a/c blower was on and off when not on.He also helped me install my winter canvas cover and had to extend a wire to make my old cover fit.Jimmy was very knowledgeable and courteous.I always would want him to do my electric.Im a very happy Universe client.
