I had developed a leak from the kitchen ceiling, which I was pretty sure came from the upstairs bathroom. Looking for w new plumber, I choose Sunshine because of their many fine reviews (mostly on Angie's list, but some here as well). The technician easily found the problem (the seal on the toilet) and replaced it and the flapper (which was starting to degrade from age). The company and the tech let me know he was on his way, and followed up online after the repairs were finished. Their work wasn't inexpensive (no plumber is), but they guarantee it for two years, so I know who to call if I have an issue. William F. 08/01/14 |

I needed several plumbing type things done at my house but didn't know a good plumber in the area. My girlfriend was looking around Angie's List and saw a special Sunshine Solar & Mechanical was running. She did some research and saw several great reviews about them, so we took a chance and booked some time the next week. William, the owner/operator showed up right on time at 8am, always a good sign. We had purchased the parts we thought we needed and he went through them and the list of things we wanted done. William is the consumate professional, he explained his rates and that he would only bill for time that he was working. After agreeing to the order to do things he pulled out his phone and timed in using an app. Anytime he had to take a call or go to his truck he timed himself out. He also was more than happy to let us look over his shoulder and see what he was doing, and tell us what the problem was before he fixed it. Our list included changing out a sink, 3 faucets, all hardware in a bath/shower, all hardware in a shower to fix a drip, tightening a toilet to the floor, and flushing out the hot water tank. He was able to do everything that morning except the shower, only because it has some old, weird parts. He found a place for me to go and buy the stems, seats, and faucet handles and said he'd come back when I got them. A couple weeks later I had the parts and he stopped buy and installed them - at no charge! He said it was still part of the first job and he was just finishing it up. Wow! Over the top customer service used to be the norm in the world, not so much now. Working with William was a real breath of fresh air. No trip charge, no parts markup, no BS. The plumber arrived on time, identified the problem quickly and explained the work in terms we could understand. He even let my 3 month old puppy help him install the new faucet without complaining. We used Sunshine to install a new central A/C 2 ton unit, running off a crawl space furnace. I had 3 separate businesses provide estimates, including ARS through Home Depot, and Sunshine struck the right balance for me in terms of cost, sincerity, and expectations. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is because I ended up also purchasing a new furnace after the 2-man crew arrived to start installation of the new unit, crawled through the spiders under the house, and determined that the furnace was 23 years old and not capable of efficiently running with a new A/C. Despite the 3 separate estimates, including one from a different individual at Sunshine, no one had mentioned that I would likely need a new furnace. The owner, William Frew, came to my house after I balked at this new necessity, we talked about options, I did additional research in real-time while they patiently waited, and ultimately I decided to go with the new furnace/A/C combo. My house was cool in time for a large family visit the next day and the A/C ran for 4 days straight to keep them from melting. My first electric bill is on-par with priors. Their services were very fine. My husband and he decided that they would not be doing anything to our hot water heater because it was so old that the cleaning of it could cost more problems than anything. I have used Sunshine for plumbing and they have been brilliant! Today I used to install a new heater. The reason I did this in the summer is that William showed me that I could turn my wall unit AC into a unit that would flow through my condo. My heater was not doing well and I wanted to get it taken care of before winter. Sunshine showed up early, worked hard, cleaned up and were extremely polite and did the work for an excellent price. I nicknamed William "the toilet whisperer" for his excellence in plumbing, but now will add the nickname heating and ac gurus to him and his team. We had waited over a week to get our AC fixed by another company we had made an appointment with. When the appointment time came and went, we called the company and they had neglected to schedule the appointment although they had a record of our call. This was at the beginning of the summer and it had been almost 90 degrees every day for almost a week so we were desperate. We called Sunshine and they worked us in that afternoon. William was very professional and friendly, walked us through everything he did before he did it, was quick, and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need - which was refreshing. One of my A/C units was not working. It runs the top 2 floors and had become very uncomfortable to sleep. We had another company come out. After three separate visits they still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Contacted Sunshine Plumbing, Heating & Air and William came out in the evening to accomodate my schedule taking time away from his own family and troubleshot it in a matter of minutes. Arrived the next morning with the part and not only fixed that unit but check my other unit as well to ensure it was working properly and will continue to work properly. This company has not been hired by our HOA yet, but I hope they are!! In just doing a bid, they were here twice, and brought additional personal to inspect our situation and become familiar with our property. All orchestrated by a star employee, William. He is balls to the wall dedicated and will go the extra mile even though he doesn't have the job yet!! What?? I am not kidding. This guy will get it done and do everything in his power to get it done, correctly!! His work was very professional such as communicating with us and keeping the job area clean during and after the job. Removed 50+ year old hot water boiler and hot water heater. Replaced boiler and hot water heater with new appliances requiring a lot of pipe replacement. The episode was so frightening I called the fire department and my home heating system was shut down. William rearranged his schedule on Saturday morning to come to my home 1st in case the boiler needed parts before the parts store closed. He examined the boiler, explained the problem, evaluated my home to offer an estimate for a new boiler and suggested I get other estimates. He left space heaters for my use while I found and interviewed other boiler experts. I obtained 5 total estimates. His communication was honest, clear and straightforward. He answered my numerous questions and concerns patiently and thoroughly. Each person said something different about city requirements. William helped me find the city inspector to answer my questions. Boiler installation in an old home is a large undertaking and I was very careful with my choice of installers. William and Lamiere installed the new appliances with great attention to detail. They were consistently conscientious of the care of my home. At one point a pipe broke accidentally and they had the carpet cleaned immediately. The installation is a work of art. The new boiler and hot water heater work perfectly. We actually thought something was wrong with it because someone else had told us and he was very honest and said that there wasn't anything wrong with it, which was fantastic. We didn't pay any additional. We did it based on an energy audit we had done. That guy told us that something dangerous was wrong with our water heater. He really could have taken us and he didn't. He ran a little bit late but he called and let us know, which wasn't a big deal because we had snow that day. He was very clean cut and I felt comfortable letting him in the house. Absolutely, the best experience I have had with a contractor. We flip houses for a living and never did a contractor do EVERYTHING as contracted. We discovered that our furnace was out on New Year's Eve around 3 p.m. We called Sunshine, and dispatch tried hard to get a tech out to us that afternoon. We weren't expecting that given the holiday. Thankfully, a tech, Jared, was available and made it to our home. It ended up being an easy fix and Jared didn't over charge us despite the fact that it was late on a holiday. Fantastic! Installed water heater, replaced water main shut off valve, uninstalled shower steamer, repaired shower valve leak, replaced toilet shut off valve. Sunshine plumbing and Garrett were fantastic! They were very accommodating in booking Garrett for the day to do so much work, even in advance of seeing the job and providing an estimate. Garrett listened to each concern I had and discussed it with me, so that he was sure I would be satisfied with the work he was doing, and the end result was exactly what I wanted. Any question I had, he graciously answered without being annoyed, and in a way so that I would understand it regardless what previous knowledge I had. Sunshine Plumbing and Heating came out to do a routine inspection of the furnace and ended up catching a fairly bad leak coming from unit that catches condensation. Sunshine was great, particularly our guy who came out Joe Royal. We originally bought one of the "big deals" for a routine furnace inspection as it had a been a few years since we had it installed. Joe opened up the furnace and found that a part that catches condensation from the furnace had cracked and had been leaking. He tracked down the part, got it covered by the warranty and worked in the job the same day between other appointments. Last week, I needed plumbing repair done in my Condo in a hurry. I immediately started searching around the web, Angie's List and IncredaReviews.com, etc. and saw that Sunshine Plumbing, Heating & Air had many great reviews. After discovering that, my wife and I took a chance and called them. We left a VM and our call was returned in 15 Minutes ! Immediately, an appointment was scheduled for the next morning. We also got a confirming e-mail from the main office for the appointment as well. Then on the day of the appointment, we also got a confirming call from the Service Technician 30 minutes prior to the appointment and the Service Technician actually showed up 10 minutes early! Sunshine Plumbing's Service Technicians as well as the main office were extremely organized, professional and reliable. Upon arrival, the Service Technicians explained their rate structure and that they would only bill for time that they were actually working on my behalf. No trip charge. They took a look at my plumbing repair requirements, then pulled out an I-Pad and put together an Estimate of Repairs which was then e-mailed to me. After agreeing to the order and to move forward, they finished the required repairs quickly and to my satisfaction. When everything was done and payment was made, a final invoice, marked "Paid" was prepared via I-Pad and e-mailed to me for my records while they were still in my home. Working with Sunshine Plumbing, Heating and Air's office staff and Service Technicians in the field were refreshingly positive.. No trip charge, no BS. Just great service by real professionals. My upstairs bathtub leaks into the first floor dining room. It does not leak every time the shower is used but when it does, it's a large puddle. Garrett from Sunshine Plumbing tried to recreate the leak to determine where it is coming from but was not successful. He noticed that when the shower is engaged, water runs on the underside of the faucet and may possibly run behind the tile. So he caulked the faucet in hopes that solved the problem. Unfortunately 10 days later there was another puddle. I was impressed that he did not charge for any of his services nor a trip charge. Most companies these days don't do anything for free. The 30 year old toilet in my guest bathroom was leaking around the seal so I called Sunshine Plumbing and they said they were running a deal for the purchase and installation of a new toilet and removal of an old one. I bought the deal and scheduled the service. The plumber arrived as scheduled and did the work. Since the house is 30 years old I decided to remove the old shut off valves and replace them with the new ones in all three bathrooms which was an additional service. All the work was preformed at the time. I also requested and received an invoice for the new toilet and submitted it to Denver Water for a $75 rebate. I did call to have the plumber come back out and he modified the flush volume to provide a more thorough flush in the new toilet. He said that the new low-flush toilets use such a small amount of water that people are not always satisfied with their performance. I called Sunshine after recently buying a house and realizing the air conditioning was not working properly. William came out to my house and checked everything within a day. He found that the air filter needed to be replaced, and my evaporative coils were frozen. Despite driving out to my house and poking around down in my cellar for 45 minutes, he did not charge for this initial visit, and later called and explained how to resolve both issues free of charge. My furnace, however, needed a thorough cleaning, which the inspector neglected to check during our inspection before buying the house. William came back out a few days later, cleaned the furnace completely, and checked everything to make sure it was in working order. He even hooked the fan up to the HVAC system, unfroze the evaporative coils, and only charged me for the furnace cleaning. We had called several plumbers and Sunshine was the only company that had the staffing to come out immediately. We have an old home and need a sump pump to pump out the water from our washing machine which is in the basement. The technician came out the day after we called. We were scheduled to leave for a vacation and I needed to do the wash before we left. The technician was prompt and decided the sump pump could not be repaired and gave us an estimate to replace it. He came back the following day and the installation went very smoothly. The total cost was actually slightly less than the estimate. I have had many plumbers over the years (the consequence of a 100 year old house). This was by far the most professional plumber we have had to our home. Additionally, he also communicated his timing with us along the way. And he cleaned up the mess in the laundry room after he was finished! Lastly, we got a call a few days after the sump pump was installed to see if we were satisfied and if the pump was working well.
