I found the leaking pipe in front of my house. I called dutton's plumbering and they responded right away. Marc is the technician, he was very professional, explain to me what was the problem and how he is going to fix it. Everything is back to normal. I also join as a lifetime member not only having discount every time for the job and also they will come in once a year do the annual inspection for the house. Not good. I asked for a water heater replacement under Mfg warranty, they offered me $1 water heater replacement under warranty with $2000 Labor cost. I asked them to give me water heater and I can do the installation myself, they put me on hold for two days and was told later, Water heater warranty expired because house ownership changed. Nick was a courteous and hard-working lead plumber, working on several problems inside the house to get three sinks and one toilet working/draining well. JP and Edgar did excellent work to fix the 53 year-old waste pipe system under my home doing all the work in the crawl space - a long and difficult process. They also replaced the 53 year-old Orangeburg sewer line from the house to the street. All three worked hard and were courteous, helpful, on time. I was very pleased with the job they did. I had a blockage. Plumber ran the snake and did what he could to clear the blockage. He could not clear the blockage. He tried a few times. It appeatred that the blockage was cleared but water kept backing up. He called is SUPERVISOR with "25 years of experience" and he said that They would have to dig up my front yard and open the pipe and work backwards from the main in front of the house to fix the problem. Estimated cost $3,100. Crazy! He did not first consider to run a camera to see what the problem might be. He went right to the most expensive way to find a solution. Dig up the front yard. The original plumber was embarrassed. He did not have a camera with him or he would have run it. He disagreed with his supervisors 25 years of experience. He at least agreed with me that we need to run a camera before anything else is done. They could not get a plumber out with a camera same day (Saturday evening. I needed to wait until Monday). I couldn't wait. I called another plumber on Sunday. He came out ran a camera saw a lot of soft blockage and then suggested to hydrojet my line because of all the soft blockage. This cleared up the problem 100% and line was super clean. He ran a camera to the City line. All clear. It looked super clean all the way. Problem solved. $300 (On a Sunday) and my problem was solved. I saved $2,850 by using another company. The original plumber was great he did what he could with the tools that he had and was super nice. He even felt bad and offered my tip back that I gave him saying he felt really bad and was embarrassed (I didn't take it back). The supervisors for this company are idiots. Good plumbers but if your job gets escalated to a supervisor... I would get a second opinion. Don't trust the supervisors from this company. Ramiro G. 11/30/15 |

If you have money you don't need or want, then this is the "COMPANY" for you! Kudos to them for a great front office manner and great PR efforts -- but I think it really is just part of their con. We needed a new johnny ring for one toilet. Requires four bolts be removed, the old ring removed, install a new ring and replace the toilet. Even at sixty years old and with a bad back I think I could handle the job in less than an hour! They wanted $441 for the job, after of course trying to sell us a new toilet for $1,400-$1,600. Real plumbers are coming to do the job later today for around $120. Apparently, with all the five star ratings these people get, there is a plethora of either very dumb or very rich people who love their service. Steve F. 11/28/15 |

I had tried a call in to my American Home Shield and their contracted plumber called, and they indicated it would be not until 4-6 p.m. before a tech got to my home, and from there it sounded more sceptical as to when service would be performed. I called Dutton and Vince got information from me, dispatch called and informed me I could have a tech in 1 hr. and it would be $79 -- no brainer -- used Dutton and ALL IS CLEAR and Ken G. was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Paul B, a technician with Dutton Plumbing analyzed my water leak and quickly located the slab leak. He recommended a home water conditioning system. Paul presented me with three options and we negotiated on the cost for the leak repair including the HALO 5 water conditioning system and Paul gave me a good deal on the package so I approved it. Rich B, a technician with Dutton Plumbing began to work on my plumbing issues the next day and was assisted by Drew L. was a good assistant for Rich and repaired all the drywall amazingly well. Rich handled the HALO 5 system installation and despite some difficult and frustrating challenges with the system that were beyond his control and no fault of his, he remained calm, cool, and professional. I wanted to commend Dutton plumbing for their courtesy, compassion and expeditious manner in which they handled a much hated plumbing issue. i.e. Ugly pipe going from the main water meter on the street to our home ( probably 60 years old was leaking ) I was unable to wait for the service man on hand. I had to leave for my job. When Plumber David W. did arrive, the communication he initiated with me was wonderful, layman terms and ultimately after assessing the situation, David provided several options with different service and prices based on the problem we faced.
