These guys were great - professional, on time, took their time to explain everything BEFORE they took action - gave me numerous options (price and service wise), were courteous, nice to my daughter (and dog), and were quite cordial - in that I explained to them I'd recently lost my car keys, which they FOUND on their way out the door! As I was cooking dinner my kitchen sink started overflowing, we called dutton plumbing and within 30 minutes Mark M. Showed up. He was very professional and friendly. They are reasonably priced, and Nick offered us a discount for being first time customers. The issue seems to be resolved at this point. Everyone I talked with and saw were very nice. They waived the diagnostic fee and even said I could use an expired coupon. I did not use there services. I wanted a new wax seal on my toilet the old one was leaking. I'd hurt my back and could not do it myself. The reason I did not use their service was the cost. They quoted me $448.00. UNBELIEVABLE! A very professional operation, from the scheduling coordinators in their offices, to the field technicians. Had a plumbing emergency last weekend, resulting in no water coming into my house. Rich worked diligently with myself and LA DWP (as their equipment at the street had to be replaced also) in getting water service restored as quickly as possible. Would highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs. Their trucks are fully stocked with the necessary tools and supplies to cover all situations, eliminating down time due to needing to run back to the shop or store for a necessary part. We had a drain backup downstairs. The technician who originally came was prompt, clean and friendly. He succeeded in clearing the problem. That's the good news. Then he told me that he needed to call in a supervisor because a real fix for the problem was going to be huge undertaking. After waiting some time, a supervisor appeared. He indicated that Dutton would have to dig 1/2 way through my front yard to a depth of 4 feet, secure permits for the work, install some state-of-the-art back flow valve...all to the tune of $6,500.00. (We live at the top of a rather high hill, mind you, such that any city sewer back-up is not going to end up in my house. That might be the plight of the houses at the bottom of the hill.). The original drain clog estimate had been $79 (which turned into $320 despite the fact that we purchased their family-type insurance plan earlier in the year). We declined their project. The next day, we had a contractor scope the pipes with a camera from various angles. The issue was and is fixed and cost next to nothing. I have used Dutton before and, despite their courtesy, have always found them to be very expensive. We will not be calling Dutton again after this last debacle. Paul B. 01/05/16 |

He really didn't examine the leak. He assumed it was the tub shoe. Gave me quotes for work that was not needed, which ranged fro $1900 down to $800. Got another plumber to look at it. I chose Dutton Plumbing for the second time. The first was for two plugged shower drains -- excellent service then. Was introduced to a once per month powder to keep drains clear. It's been a year and no problems with showers. Saturday, December 12, 2015, my second experience with a plumbing issue. Again, I was met with a courteous individual named Bryan Castaneda. He fixed the problem with a bathroom sink slow drain with complete skill; showed me the cause and how to avoid a future problem. I'm completely satisfied with the performance and skill of the technicians and have recommended Dutton to family and friends if they have a plumbing problem. I also would like to note that they wear booties when entering the home and the cleanliness with which they perform the repair/service. Thank you Dutton Plumbing. You have a customer for life! Steve F. was the technician and he was exceptional but I am not happy with the pricing. I thought it was way too much for what was done. I blame the company for that. I have the invoice in front of me and there was not a breakdown for labor, parts, time spent, or anything else! I will never use this company again. I do not find fault with Steve F. he was very courteous and left the area very clean. He showed me other options for other repairs but I will be searching for another company. I called Dutton today at 7AM and Ryan was at my house at 11AM which is when their dispatch said he would arrive. I had a water leak in a roof mounted solar panel water heater which I needed disconnected to allow a roofing company to remove and repair the roof leak. Ryan promptly assessed the situation, provided 3 options and related pricing. He completed the job w/out leaving the site w/in approximately 1 hour.
