Fantastic service. Did not try to sell me anything I did not need. Very courteous, respectful to the property, and knowledgeable. Before Reid I and Pederson, I used Roto Rooter. They said I needed to dig up the back yard and replace pipes for bigger ones. Jose used a camera to see exactly what caused the backup. It was tree roots. Got home from work and found sewage had backed up into the tub from toilet use. Called Reid and Pederson, talked to a supervisor who said we can help. He asked a few questions, quoted an amount for "Black Friday" evening response (within an hour of my call), and Saturday. Due to the urgency we opted for ASAP and a few minutes later a tech was in route. Less than 30 min later tech was in the driveway. He introduced himself (OH - and he matched the photo emailed ahead of his arriving), explained the quote in person, indicated he was going to apply a senior citizen discount (without my asking), had me sign an approval screen on his tablet and got to work. Unfortunately due to the layout of our plumbing, we have to have our septic tank pumped out first before he could attempt to route the pipes out. Had he started and the septic tank was full, he wouldn't be able to catch all the effluent. He explained all of this to me, apologized that his hands were tied (unless I wanted the risk of raw sewage in my basement if the tank was over capacity) and told me there was NO CHARGE! since they weren't able to help us at this time. Basically I was asking them to do step 2, before I had a septic system company do step 1. Live and learn.
Very professional, checked with his office for a septic pumping company referral , gave me his business card should we still need them once the tank is empty and said good-bye. As for the timing and service they were excellent. On the issue of them being successful with the service they provided I would prefer to wait a month or so to see if my sewer issue has been completely resolved. I found out that I actually had worked with the technician Ryan's mom which made it more comfortable talking to him. They were very polite and considerate. Ryan was totally awesome. I thought the issue was outside but he figured out pretty much immediately that it was in the kitchen. I had tried to fix it myself and couldn't understand why it wasn't working. Now I understand because he patiently explained everything. Very happy with this company. I've been with them for years. It is a pleasure to talk to them & give them my business. I had Zach the technician come out & he cleaned my sewer line. Wow! Amazing! After a sewer blockage early on Friday morning was cleared by another company (a highly rated Angie's List company) I was given a quote by that company to repair an offset sewer pipe just outside of the house. The quote was over $5500. Since the job was not expected and I was unfamiliar with with the situation, I wanted to get a second estimate. The original company salesman was trying to put a lot of pressure on me to have the job done by them. Fortunately, I called R&P for a second quote.
The owner called me back a couple of hours later and we discussed the situation by phone. He was extremely friendly and communicative. I sent him some pictures and he quoted a maximum of $3300 depending on whether they had to cut thru the foundation or not. The job was scheduled for 4 days later and R&P sent a crew of 2. They couldn't have been nicer and were very professional.
The job took about 6 hours and I was able to take pictures of the progress and finished job. In the end, the total cost was $2850, almost half the estimate from the original company. I paid a little more using this company for sewer rodding but it was worth it. I had a friend do the same job earlier this year with rental equipment for quite a bit less but I am having to have the job done again already. I was led to believe that I could use this means for answering some kind of customer satisfaction survey (yes, I am very satisfied) but instead you display a bunch of social media outlets (?) to which I must already belong or else I can't tell you how satisfied I am. Excellent communication with Veta in the office in quick response to phone calls, followup notification of appointment time and date and letting me know the day of the appointment how soon the repairmen would be arriving at my residence. Great service is becoming hard to come by, but definitely not at Reid & Pederson. Ever since contacting them after seeing great customer reviews, they have been extremely responsive and informative. From scheduling through service, every step has been great. My issue was resolved quickly, cleanly, and most importantly, properly. My technician Jose A. was great! He thoroughly investigated the problem and came up with a suitable solution that was pretty easy on my bottom line. After Jose left my neighbor said "hey, I use Reid & Pederson too.
