I had the air ducts cleaned by Amistee. They did a very impressive job! They were courteous and very thorough. I live on a crawlspace with difficult accessibility. It was no problem for Austin and Jake! My house smells great (I have dogs/cats and dust and hair was removed from the ducts) and am looking forward to dusting less often. I really didn't know who I could trust to clean my air ducts, so I went on line to research companies and notice that Amistee had a very high rating of happy customers. I have to agree! I had to have my dryer duct cleaned. When Matt and Tyler arrived my first thought was, great, they sent the JV squad. Matt and Tyler were on time, introduced themselves to me, greeted me with a handshake and were dressed professionally. They spent about an hour cleaning the dryer duct and even got the booster fan to quit rattling. They did a nice job cleaning up and even had to vacuum where some of the dust blew out on the basement floor. I like that there are before and after photos. I have heard mixed reviews about having ducts cleaned, so I never had it done. That being said, I'm getting a new furnace and air conditioning unit so I figured I'd get my ducts cleaned before having my new equipment installed.
I did some research and one of the highest rated and more importantly certified was Amistee. They advertised free estimates so I requested one on their website and received a call the next day. It was on a Sunday! Amazing!
I scheduled the job, my technicians showed up at the selected time window, proceeded to walk me through the process, asked if I had any questions or concerns and Melvin, the lead man even applied an online coupon discount to my bill that I was unaware of.

Melvin & Alex we're my specialists and they were on time and super friendly. They walked me through every part of the process, were very respectful of my time and my animals. Joe and Mike arrived at approx. 8:30AM introduced themselves and proceeded to explain and demonstrate what and how the air duct cleaning process would be done.
It took about 2 1/2 hrs. after which Joe explained in detail the entire process and showed me the video images of how the ducts looked before and after, I could not believe the amount of dirt and debris that had collected over the years.
I moved into the house in April of 2015 and judging from all the pet hair and other disgusting objects, I don't think the duct work had ever been cleaned as thoroughly, if at all, as it was today, what a remarkable difference. Also, I'm glad I decided to include the sanitizer and deodorizer.

Barry was great to work with and helped us get the best service. We just purchased our home and never had this service done in the past. He gave us a detailed run through and let us know exactly what we would be expecting from him the day he was in our home. They showed us before and after pictures and we were very happy with the service. Due to my allergies he suggested having a sanitation solution put in and in a few days I noticed my allergies went away (the pervious owners had cats I was allergic to). I had an excellent experience with the crew from Amistee. Jackie, Alex and Barry were exceedingly professional, thoroughly explaining the process and taking great care of my home. They wore booties over their shoes and used drop cloths everywhere. They also showed great concern for my two cats, explaining that the noise level and activity often causes cats to "freak out", something I hadn't thought of. The before and after pictures of my ductwork assured me that I had made the right decision to have them cleaned. UGH! I was also impressed with their attitude. In the past I had used other duct cleaning companies but I was never totally satisfied. My experience with Amistee duct cleaning was very good! Jackie did an exceptional job today! She did the duct cleaning in my daughters house that she just purchased - built in 1949. While painting and doing repair work we have taken off many of the registers and duct covers. I've never seen so much dirt and grim before. The house has no basement, so Jackie was in a very small crawl space servicing the house. She was very courteous, informative, happy and not in a hurry. Because there was so much dirt, some did fall out of the ducts, which is unusual with the powerful vacuum system they use. There was just no way to suck it all up. They went back over the entire house and left it just as clean as when they walked in the door. She was very helpful with helping us determine the size of the furnace filter, too. I didn't actually end up getting my air ducts cleaned, so I can't comment on that aspect of Amistee, but the honesty of Barry and Jacob in alerting me to a potentially serious health concern with my house's HVAC system was what warranted this 5-star review. They arrived at my house at 8am sharp, and when they went into the basement to evaluate the air ducts, they quickly informed me that I likely had asbestos insulation being used in the cold air return lines. Since asbestos is very dangerous when airborne, it wouldn't be safe for them to use 300 psi air to try to clean out those lines. Barry said he could charge us several hundred dollars to clean out just the heat lines, but he was very honest and said that all that would really do is blow all the dirt and dust into the asbestos-lined ducts. I'm going to have the insulation tested for asbestos to confirm their diagnosis and plan on calling Amistee back to clean the ducts once I've taken care of the asbestos issue. Barry S. 07/19/15 |
