AA Service stands behind their service and agreements. From past experience, other companies we have used some of the technicians did not know how to fix boilers because they were mainly furnace people and it took them longer to do anything. PETR G came for our annual furnace checkup and I discussed our temperature problems. We had an old thermostat and he quickly solved our problem and replaced the thermostat that day which was excellent service. Petr G is an excellent technician (as are all the AA Service personnel) and AA Service staff are always prompt and professional. Our 14 year old furnace went out on December 22. ABC Plumbing, the first HVAC company we contacted, told us it would cost us $1,500 to repair the igniter and circuit board. They then went into a hard sell for a new furnace. They quoted over $6,600 for an 80,000 BTU furnace to heat the first floor (we have a second furnace that heats the second floor). The next morning I called AA Service. Scott from AA measured our house and told us we only needed a 60,000 BTU furnace. He also said if we didn't want to replace the furnace, AA would repair the igniter and circuit board for $750. AA's price for the 60,000 BTU furnace was almost $1,800 less than ABC's quote for an 80,000 BTU unit. So I had a third company, H.R. Witt, inspect my house. Witt also recommended a 60,000 BTU unit, and their quote was within $100 of AA. (All three companies' quotes included a humidifier and thermostat and installation.)
The professionalism of both AA and Witt were outstanding. I'm sure Witt would have done a good job. I ultimately choose AA because they have more Yelp reviews than Witt does.
By the time I had all the quotes and decided to use AA, it was 4:10 p.m. on Dec 23. I called Scott, who said AA would be able to install the new furnace the next day, which was Christmas Eve. The installers, Adam and Tyler, arrived right on time. They were very polite, laid down tarps and boards to protect our floors, and did a great job explaining what how to operate the new furnace, humidifier and thermostat. I think AA had called both Adam and Tyler in to work on a day they were supposed to have off, but if either of them was unhappy about working the day before Christmas, they didn't show it.
Furnaces and air conditioners are big ticket items, so I'll always get multiple quotes. But I'm confident AA's quote will be reasonable, and as long as their service continues to be as professional as Scott, Adam and Tyler provided, AA will remain my preferred provider. It's too bad that I can only give AA Service 5 stars...from start to finish everyone I dealt with were highly professional. Ralph C. is a pro's pro...called me to tell me when he'd be at my house, arrived when he said he would, correctly diagnosed my problem and fixed it quickly despite the problem not being an easy one to fix. After the Gas Company turned off our service because there were leaks in the system, I contacted AA Service and asked them to send Andy C back to do the work. I talked with Andy and told him that the person from the North Shore gas had not marked the leaks but had shown them tome. Andy came out and did a great job repairing the leaks, He pointed out that the work had not been done using all black pipe, He replaced as much of the job with black pipe and with new tun off valves. The person who returned from North Shore gas said we did not have a large enough space for him to turn on both hot water heaters and Furnace. He relit the one hot water heater and disconnected the job Andy had done on the furnace and other hot water heater. Andy stuck around and reconnected the Furnace and hot water heater and then relit the pilot lights. In short he was a real godsend to us in getting the heat restored to our home. Andy C. 12/09/14 |

We have used AA Service for many years. All their technicians have been very professional and knowledgeable. That said, one stands out above them all, and that technician is Ralph C. Ralph has always gone above and beyond the call, making sure the problem he has been dispatched to fix is accurately diagnosed and repaired, and also explaining in layman's terms what the issue is and what he is doing to fix it.
