Last July when our cooling system went out, on the 4th of July, I called the business that advertised they were open 24/7. They came, looked, and informed us that we had to replace the most expensive part of the unit. We did not have the money and no way to earn it. We decided to have the business that installed the system when it was new to get a second opinion.They diagnosed the same thing with a higher price tag. We did not have that kind of money. We suffered through 3 weeks of record breaking heat trying to find the money to have the repair work done. Long story short, I discovered BenchMark! They came out, checked the system out, cleaned it up, and we had our A/C back working great!
We had them to check for air leaks in the duct work. They found that the duct work was not sealed so we had been breathing in all the particles from the attic. NOT GOOD. They sealed it all up and noted that this area is known for heavy dust in the air and they recommended a different type of a/c for our home. We just had our 1 year check over and replaced the badly packed filter. We will be using Benchmark for as long as we live in the city! Honest, dependable, outstanding customer service. I called outside of their normal office hours, as I reached the recording I just hung up thought I was screwed for the weekend, and would need to put up with this Bakersfield heat. However, to my amazement they called me back!! When I didn't answer they texted me!!!! They had a technician at my house right away and my AC working within the hour. My air conditioner went out right as the scorching Bakersfield heat let loose. They were out at my house and got a new system installed right away. I can't say enough about how friendly and knowledgeable the staff is!! Top it off I had some issues on a Saturday morning outside of their normal business hours, and guess what?!?! I will never use this company again. I felt they ripped me off for a diagnostic call ($195) to Wasco Ca. Their estimates were outrageous. $2400 to repair existing cooler and $3700 to replace it. Wasco is 30 miles away. Just insane. I checked Lowes prices only $1400 to replace cooler. Save your money and check Lowes or Home Depot. Gabriel U. 06/16/19 |

Benchmark Air came out & completely took my Fujitsu Mini Split Air & Heating System apart, including the blower wheel to clean it. Cleaned the dirt, mildew & mold from behind the blower wheel and did excellent work in a timely manner. These are the nicest people I have ever dealt with and they are extremely knowledgeable. Have used Benchmark for A/C duties for years. Whether biannual maintenance or quick response to a major (in my mind) problem, they are unfailingly prompt, professional, knowledgeable and just plain nice. They always allay my fears with understandable explanations; and the pricing is always fair. The biggest fear one has when hiring a tradesman is whether you can trust them. This is the 3rd time that I have had Benchmark and their employees working on my A/C issues. The first time was to trouble shoot my 5 year old A/C system. I had been told that the coils would need to be replaced and was quoted an overly high price. The second opinion I sought for the same issue said the same thing. I called Benchmark and they came out very promptly, looked at the issue on my A/C, and informed my that the only problem he could find was the coils needed cleaned and my drain was plugged. After servicing and cleaning, my a/c system worked like new again.
I then had them out for a service call. The tech noticed that it all looked a lot dirtier than it should have. Next he looked at the duct work, and found that the hottest room in the house had the smallest duct pipe which resulted in less air getting to that room. He mentioned some options for having a more efficient A/C with a lot more filtering of the in door air.
After thinking it over we decided to go with the more expensive upgrade on our system. Being disabled, I spend the majority of my time inside my home. I called to set up the date for installment. They notified me of their coming. Came on time, worked hard to get the removal of the old system and installed the new one in just a few hours. It has been 24 hours since and I am breathing easier with my allergies, and asthma. I love it!
Thank you so much to the whole team at Benchmark. They have really set the benchmark for me that is put them well above all the other A/C businesses. You truly are an honest and reliable company! I’m new to the area and new to air conditioning in general. Gabriel did an awesome job taking care of the system. He explained things to me and answered questions I had.
