Dr. Gillian is a very professional, yet very down to earth, physician. He quickly and kindly explained my situation and what needed to be done. I had the utmost confidance in him after learning how many surgical procedures he had done like mine. He tells you in "no frills" the rules you must follow for success before and afterwards. The surgery went as he said it would and I am recuperating very nicely at home. I would recommend him to all of my friends.

Dr. Gilliam repaired my large hiatal hernia, which eliminated the undiagnosed microscopic bleeding as well as GERD and breathing related issues.

Hernia repair, as 80 years approaches, was achieved with the superb education and preparation and a successful procedure removing a dysfunctional mesh vintage (2012). Unable to walk a 1/2 mile - today Team Gillian's post operation green light results in pain free 30+ minutes on a treadmill. My self confidence and progress is measurable. Access to Dr. Gillian, his office & professional staff is exceptional. No nonsense-straight post operational assistance. Alexandria Hospital, interface with his practice exceeded all expectations. My "GO to Hernia Doctor".

My comfort zone with things medical and my advanced age clearly had me concerned, if a reduction of my pain and discomfort could be ameliorated. Divya Bansal, M.S., PA-C, the outstanding administrative staff & the comfort level conveyed to me via Dr. G. Kevin Gillian, MD FACS convinced me that Laparoscopic Surgery could and "has" resolved my hernia situation. Repair of a previous hernia operation, using Dr. Gillian extensive training with the Laparoscopic option, in conjunction to the superb interface with Alexandria Hospital tells me, as I look back via my rear view mirror, how professional and helpful Team Gillian guided my wife and I through this most needed procedure.

Evaluation of service provided to Iris Berets, retired PhD. Psychology ,by Dr. G Kevin Gillian, MD FACS and Diva Bansal,MS, PA-C. I was referred to Dr. Gillian by Dr. Spegnoli because he thought the results of an endoscopy test should be evaluated further. I read Dr. Gillian’s excellent evaluations and decided to see him. My first appointment was January 26, 2018. The following tests were taken: An Esophageal Function Test (E.F.T.) and a 24Hr Ambulatory pH and Impedance Testing. The latter test was to evaluate the acid and non- acid based reflux and symptoms so the proximal extent, frequency and nature of reflux, could be determined. The latter test was given on February 5, 2018 by a woman named Mary. Both I and the woman inserting the tube seemed anxious. The insertion process was very painful. I was given a questionnaire to fill out at home. It dealt with the time of day and frequency the reflux occurred. I felt intense discomfort for the entire day the tube was in. Because of my discomfort I was not able to fill the questionnaire out correctly. Many of my reflux incidents were not noted. When I turned the Questionnaire in, I brought this up to the woman who put the tube in and pulled the tube out and she told me it was fine and not to worry. Now that I know the overall results of the testing, I feel her remark was inaccurate. When I was given the results of the tests I had taken, I was told that the reflux I experienced was in the normal range . The data I marked for reflux experienced was mentioned as part of the conclusion. I am still experiencing some heartburn and reflux. Because of my osteopenia I am unable to take many of the medications that were recommended. Dr. Gillian was not present to explain the results of the testing. His assistant told me that my reflux response was in the normal range and I could eat anything. I still have mild reflux and was not told how to respond to the reflux I currently have. I would appreciate a response to these issues I have brought to your attention. Evaluation of service provided to Iris Berets, retired PhD.
