My husband and I do not mess with or attempt to solve gas or electrical issues, which means we often turn to the experts and Doug L. Really is an expert! Doug helped us with our two fireplaces and installing our grill conversion kit after replacing our exterior gas line that was covered in duct tape. Every time Doug comes he shares what he did, why he did it, and shows me how it is working. He is fast, efficient, and I couldn't recommend working with Doug enough! He fixed our pilot light sporadic lighting issue, noting that it may require an upgraded part at some point, but no need to replace until absolutely necessary. Doug L serviced our gas fireplace today. He replaced the fan, rheostat and and on/off switch. He arrived on time, took off his shoes at the door, had all the equipment he needed, including his mask, and protected the work area with a heavy tarp. He cleaned the grate, artificial logs and coals, and the window, sifting out the moths with delicacy. He thoroughly cleaned the functioning equipment, observed safety rules for both gas flow and electric power. He answered all. our questions, and even tolerated our dog. He calls me when he is on his way, is extremely careful to ensure my house is in the same condition when he leaves as how he found it, and does an excellent job. I haven't been able to use the fireplace for some time because the flame would come on but as soon as I released the control, the flame would go out. Doug discovered that it needed a new thermocouple, replaced it and we were back in business. Now I can have a fire any time I want one. It will be so nice, come the fall and football weather. I smelled gas after lightning my pilot light and turning on the fireplace after it had been turned off for 6 months. I was really worried. Amy took my information and when she realized that my issue was potentially dangerous she put me through to Doug. Doug understood my concern and he created time in his schedule to come over right away which would otherwise would have been really unusual. It was immediately apparent that Doug knew his stuff. He found the source of the leak as well as some other issues where screws were missing and one piece of the fireplace that had been installed incorrectly. Not only did he fix the leak and other issues but he took the time at the end of his day to clean the whole unit and he made the flame much better looking. It had been scraggly and he added some stuff that distributed the flame much better and now it has a nice glow as well. The weather is supposed to be cold and wet this weekend and I can't wait to read a book by my fire! Thank you Doug! (See More)

Doug is one the rare service professionals who is highly technically competent, honest and straightforward, and extremely client service oriented. We updated a very old fireplace and he advised us of the options we had and provided us the accurate information in order for us to make an informed decision. During the installation/upgrade Doug took care to keep our house clean, ensured that everything was working properly, and made sure we were happy with the looks of the fireplace before locking everything down. He also took care to coach us through the use of the remote and advised us on the pilot operation. I would recommend Doug to anyone who is wanting a new or upgraded gas fireplace.
