I have worked with Reid twice, each time was a minor emergency that I had no first hand knowledge how to handle. This past week while away from home for next 4 weeks I needed assistance with sump pump discharge problems. It was single digit temps and the problem was outside in the cold. As with first experience last year, they were so good to call back as promised, and offered clear explanation for next step. Reid and Pedrrson plumbing drainage company came to my rescue after several failed attempts to work with my contracted home warranty service HOME WARRANTY OF AMERICA service (HWA) failed me badly. All my long calls to HWA were run arounds. Because HWA has 3,-three hidden service charge fees that I refused to deal with.
Therefore I decided to cut out the middle man in working with the HWA company.
So to curtaintail my plumbing stress. Because I was tried of going over to family to do my toiletry needs and laundry. So I contacted Reid N Pederson drainage n plumbing company. I needed.wanted a REAL plumbing service. So got on the phone w/.Anita at Reid n Pederson.
They explained to me their service n fees and got me on their schedule immediately for a week day drain line clean out.
The two young men they sent out were good and very very polite and professional. They answered all my questions and addressed questions about my household future plumbing needs.

Wonderful service. Same day response to serious plumbing issues. Every staff person I have dealt with is knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. They identify the problem quickly and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. I would recommend them to everyone with drainage/sewage problems. I was originally recommended to them by my city water department when I had a problem. If the city can recommend them, I have to believe they are the best. I have had, sadly, several serious drainage and sewage problems. They have been addressed quickly and professionally by Reid & Pederson. I have never been disappointed. Another great job! I contacted Reid & Pederson early Sunday morning via the Internet seeking an appointment for Monday to clear my clogged plumbing. Got a call back at 7 a.m., with an appointment set for between 8 and 10 a.m. Monday. R&P and Technician Ryan R. provided ample advance notice that he was on his way. He and Gus arrived before 8:15 a.m. Monday and had the system cleared by 9 a.m. Both men were very polite. After clearing the pipes, Ryan explained the likely cause of the problem - a few tree roots and the heavier toilet paper we'd recently switched to. I highly recommend Reid and Pederson. Over the past year I've had several conversations with Kevin (owner) regarding my basement water issues. He was always willing to provide suggestions on what action I should take to help identify the source of the problem. He offered great suggestions and ideas I never thought of myself. He ultimately identified the source of my problem being iron ochre (bacterial sludge) which is clogging the drain tiles and resulting in water seepage.
Yesterday, Ryan and Dan came out to clean the tiles. Unfortunately, the way the drain tiles were installed when the house was built, there is no way to route a water jet around the 90 degree corners in the clay tile since there is only one access point (the tile inlet in the sump pit). Rather than attempting to continue with the job, Ryan explained the situation to me and didn't believe the problem could be resolved with the resources available to him. He offered some good suggestions on how to proceed with a fix and did not charge me anything for the time he and Dan were here. These guys are honest (very hard to find in the service industry) and I would have no hesitation in calling them for any plumbing job in the future. I will also recommend them to all my friends. I cannot tell you what an excellent job Reid & Pederson did clearing the sewer line from our house to the manhole. We were have a problem with water in the crawl space and they even checked that out to make sure that wasn't caused by a sewer backup (it turned out to be ground water from all the rain). It’s rare to find a firm with personnel who are not only friendly, knowable, efficient, but also effective. They checked all the lines with a camera just to make sure everything was as it should be. Wow! Amazing! After a sewer blockage early on Friday morning was cleared by another company (a highly rated Angie's List company) I was given a quote by that company to repair an offset sewer pipe just outside of the house. The quote was over $5500. Since the job was not expected and I was unfamiliar with with the situation, I wanted to get a second estimate. The original company salesman was trying to put a lot of pressure on me to have the job done by them. Fortunately, I called R&P for a second quote.
The owner called me back a couple of hours later and we discussed the situation by phone. He was extremely friendly and communicative. I sent him some pictures and he quoted a maximum of $3300 depending on whether they had to cut thru the foundation or not. The job was scheduled for 4 days later and R&P sent a crew of 2. They couldn't have been nicer and were very professional.
The job took about 6 hours and I was able to take pictures of the progress and finished job. In the end, the total cost was $2850, almost half the estimate from the original company. I will definitely call R&P for any sewer and drainage work in the future. My only regret was that I didn't call them first. (See More)

12 years ago, right after we moved into our 40 year old house with huge trees, we had a major plumbing back up at Thanksgiving dinner, caused by major roots growing into sewer line. I talked to Sandy Friday afternoon and she had someone out to my rental property by 4:15 they were supposed to be there between 3:30 and 530. They were able to unblock the sink and rod out the pipes from the roof in Park Forest where the plumbing is notoriously always backing up especially after a lot of rain. I called Reid and Pederson at noon on a Monday and they were out to the house by 2:00 pm. I had two other plumbers stop to get the best of 3 estimates. Ryan was ready to get the work done immediately for hundreds less than the two others who needed to return the next day to do the work. He was clean, knowledgeable, thorough, honest and I felt I could trust him. He said he could clear the sewer pipe immediately and did so and explained to my tenant what had clogged it.
