We asked for a clear bid on a simple replacement of a hot water heater. What we received was a bid on the WORK to replace the hot water heater. There was no mention of Brand, type, capacity of what product would be used for the replacement. Only bids for "good" at $2300 (6 mo warranty on parts and labor), 'better', and 'best'. the only different among the 3 was the parts and labor warranty, costing approximately $400 per 3 months. Cummings Plumbing came to my house to give me an estimate and repair my toilet and bath tub plumbing. He gave me an estimate or $420 to do the repairs. I told the repairman I thought the estimate was too high.
As a result I called another company, AA Plumbing, recommended by a friend. AA Plumbing came to by house and completed the repairs for $130, a savings of $290.

Company texted and emailed me a pic and brief background of technician that was on his way. The kid showed up I explained my water heater was leaking from the top. I had done some googling and watched some YouTube videos so I had an idea what was wrong but I was unable to remove the problem part (a $15 part). He looked said he didn’t know if he would be able to get the part off without damage, said let me see if we have the part on the truck and get you a quote. Came back with a quote of $350! Excellent, the crews were prompt polite, clean, efficient and courteous. In the past I have found that most large companies rest on their laurels so to speak. I know now why Cummings plumbing is still a large plumbing company. They provide good service at a reasonable price for the work and get the job done quickly. Most of the time there were four trucks and at least six service members working on my project. The repairs were expensive expensive but a new much needed furnace was also installed at about half the price I was expecting it to be. The discount on the furnace was much appreciated. I would also like to thank MG for cleaning out my hot water heater while he was here, The next project is a new HVAC system, I think I know where I will go for that project.

Very disappointed. Office staff were friendly and helpful on the phone, no issue there. The problem is the way the company do business. They were not sure what was wrong with my gas fired heating furnace. So rather than trying to help me get some heating (we had no heat and it was pretty cold at night) they said that due to working to a fixed price process, they could not work on my furnace as the part they thought was faulty might not fix the problem. OK I understand that they can’t work for nothing but the most annoying thing was that they were trying to tell me that they were not working on my furnace to avoid any inconvenience to me! Clearly not true. They were protecting their own interests in case the part they fitted didn’t fix the issue and they had to spend more time on a fixed price deal. Them not fixing my furnace was not in my interest at all. Bad practice. Not happy. Don’t recommend. (See More)

When I called Cummings Plumbing the came out immediately. Their crews were knowledgeable and all of them were extremely polite and personable. They cleaned up everyday and did not leave our house in a huge mess. The office personnel were wonderful. Sue let us know everyday when the crew was on their way to our house. The drywall crew also were excellent. Their covered everything in order to protect our belongings and they did an excellent job. We would highly recommend Cummings Plumbing!! (See More)

I called for an estimate to have my septic looked at and possibly pumped. I had not yet moved into the house, they arrived 2.5 hours early. I told them I would meet them in an hour with a drawing where the tank was. They called an me back a half hour later, jumped my fence and just started digging! The estimate was twice what anyone else wanted. My yard is dug up in a place that is not where the tank is. I'm shocked! (See More)

I would warn everyone to stay away from rip off plumbing. Had one of their techs come out last week to replace a hose bib. Parts cost $10, charge for the job $234!! When the tech went to turn on the main water valve to the house, he reported it broken and said it had to be replaced or no water to the house! Said the cost would be $900+. Told him I thought that was outrageous, but what option did I have. Asked the company for an itemized bill - they said no way, they don't do that any more. Since then two phone calls threatening me and insulting me. Filed a complaint with the BBB. Let's see what happens. (See More)

On Jul. 28, 2018, I sadly found there was no cold water coming out from the faucet over the sink in the bathroom. I picked up the Cummings Plumbing Heating and Cooling from the yellowbook because it is the winner of the Readers' Choice in 2017. So I called its Tucson office to schedule an inspection next day on Aug. 1 though the same day appointment was available. The technician Odus Berglund arrived as scheduled. He is very experinced in plumbing. After he checked the second point along the cold water line, the cold water ran out of the tap. The problem which had bothered us for a long time was resolved. Thank you very much! The charge was reasonable and acceptable. I didn't call the other plumbing company to get a quote and then to compare the price. (See More)

Price for repiping house was fair. All the workers were excellent. Very patient with the dogs, more than what they should be expected to be! The work done (piping, drywall repair and painting) was also very good.
The only thing I feel was not up to par was the clean up. First, the dry wall compound used etched both the driveway (white patches) and the grout on the saltillo tiles in the house. They missed patching a couple of small dings they put in the drywall and a small hole in the exterior stucco...just an oversight when they finished.
Overall, it was a very good job and I would use them again for any problems I might have. (See More)

I'm scratching my head here. More than once on the phone yesterday, I stated that this was a ground floor unit in a 2 story building and that the HVAC unit was on the roof. I said it because I knew a regular ladder wouldn't cut it. How is it possible that the tech didn't have this info, nor the correct ladder or an assistant...and couldn't do the estimate? I also let you know, via my online service request and on the phone, that this was for a real estate transaction which means we're on a timeline. I even gave the date of our closing. I just don't get it. (See More)

Excellent customer service. The office staff is excellent! We received a call that our technician was running late - (most places don't call to tell you they are running late) and because of the call, we were happy to wait a little longer. Then we received a call that our technician was about 20 minutes away. When Danny showed up, he was very kind and professional.
