Carolina Air Care provided friendly, expert, and economical service for three central home HVAC systems. They're working beautifully. The Quality Control check-up person came and tested all the systems both heating and cooling, and installed a special wireless thermostat.
I was impressed by the expert care taken in developing the initial proposal. He carefully examined the entire system in all details and came up with a proposal that addressed every facet of the system needing replacement.
The installation itself went smoothly and, again, with expertise as well as attention to every detail.

I called Carolina Air Care because I had previously used them for a repair on a client property. It was a pleasant experience then and was certainly the same. When I called into the office, Allison arranged to have a service representative meet me that very afternoon. This was much appreciated as my husband had been dealing with another company that took four days to put a "bandaid" on my rental property's HVAC. My tenant deserved better. The cold weather was about to set in, and I did not want her to be without an efficient heater. The previous company had given me a quote which I felt was way above what the cost should have been. that's when I remembered my previous experience with Carolina Air Care, and gave them a call. When I met their rep, Jake, at the property, I was immediately impressed by their process and company system. He gave me a quote on the spot. It did not take me long to figure out that this was the best deal out there. Not only was I getting a 14 seer heat pump, but it was a noted Lennox product. A few days later my tenant had a brand new heat pump and wireless thermostat that she could program from her smart phone. All parties were happy thanks to the professional team at Carolina Air Care.

Purchased a 5 ton and 4 ton Lennox signature series compressors, 2 SLP98 furnaces, and 2 CX35 air handlers to replace the old ones (also Signature Series), now 13 years old (harsh beach environment). First thing we noticed is how quiet the new units are. The basic iComfort thermostats are light years ahead of the old Lennox thermostats, and simple to use. Plus they don't "click" when the AC turns on. Remote wifi access is a handy feature when traveling away from home. Didn't see the need for the "smart" and "ultra-smart" thermostats (the S30s and E 30). Installation took the better part of a day. Installers did a great job and left our house as tidy as they found it. Best part was the super thorough quality control inspection the next day. Looking at the bottom line, Carolina Air Care bid this job out at nearly 1/2 of what their two closest competitors bid. The 10 year parts and labor warranty is also a plus. (See More)

Being a 40 year maintenance manager now a “retired maintenance manager”, I’ve always looked for the simple things:
1 - Did the technicians comes prepared with everything they needed for the job?
2- Were they do the job in a timely manner?
3 - Did they cleanup after themselves and make it appear as if nobody was here? And last but certainly not least ,
4 - Did they take pride of ownership & are accountable for their work?
In each question I raised to myself, the answer was a 100% YES. My wife and I are pleased with the installation of our new A/C unit and feel we received quality work. It was a job well done. However, it did not come without a problem which we will take responsibility for. That of witch we did not allow the use of our toilet facility. For that we are truly sorry. Had we only given it a little more thought the workers could have used our room above the garage. And again we apologize for not thinking.
We also wish to add that during the final inspection we felt Dave appeared to be upset for the error we made about the use of the toilet. He had mentioned to us three times how he never had that problem in the past and seemed to be little bit adamant about it. We knew we were wrong the first time he said it and we know he needs to protect his help. But he left us with a feeling of guilt and thought it to be a little unprofessional. We know people just don't read those long drawn out contracts. Had we read it and seen the clause about the of our facility we would been able to have the time to give it some and come up with a solution. I would like to suggest to you if you're going to put that clause in a contract then you should either put it in red print or in bold lettering on the front of the page. Or have manager tell us up front during the first visit.
We are not people who are hard to get along with but we did experience two episodes when allowing contractors to use our facility. One of then had urinated on the toilet seat and on the floor. The other had left fetal matter on the toilet seat, the bowl, and the floor. We know you're crew is not like that but it left an imprint on our minds. And had we only been aware of it we would have made it easy for them. We feel everyone was quite professional and did a good job. Thank you. (See More)

Three companies provided estimates for replacement of our downstairs heat pump and air handler. I selected Carolina Air Care because they received extremely high marks on Angie's List and was an 'A'-rated company. From start-to-finish, the company was great to work with. Its office staff was amazing, very personable, and knowledgable. Their billing system is excellent with invoices and contract agreements sent via email. The company's workmanship was impressive and their workers communicated very well. Upon completion of the work, I requested that they re-route the drain line for the air handler, and they happily re-routed it to ensure that I was satisfied with the work. Lastly, I was impressed that the company has it's own quality assurance inspector, who visits the site upon completion and verifies everything is installed correctly and the system is performing as designed. I met Jake with Carolina Air while he was on a break . I briefly told him my concerns with my current HVAC system . Without hesitation he offered to give stop by home within the hour and give me 3 bids and recommendations . Bare in mind this would be my 1st of 5 bids . Jake was 1 of 2 the other being 5 to actually took the time to look in my attic to see space and current equipment size and condition .
By this point I would say that I had learned enough about this industry to be toxic to myself .
I will say that Carolina Air was not the cheapest . They were right in the middle of the pack . After sharing all bids with the highest bidder . I called CAC one day with a cooling problem and they were able to send out a repair Rep the next morning.
After listening to what I wanted done and looking at my unit he went over several options and I then decided that replacing my old unit was the best long term option.
They had a new unit in stock and two repair personnel avail and were out the next day to replace my old unit.
Tony and Cris were very professional in all aspects of the change over. The unit was changed out and tested. The area was cleaned up and they went over the operation on the new unit.
The next day Mike came out and did a QA review with the unit, fixing 2 very minor problems, and gave us another introdocternation on the unit

Only one word can describe the recent installation - EXCELLENT.
Team arrived exactly on schedule, surveyed the task and set to work. All team members were polite and courteous, and their work practices were more than efficient.
Installation was completed within 30 minutes of their projected completion time despite the fact that one of the units was found to be damaged when it was uncrated and a replacement had to be obtained.
The team installed two units, tested each, and explained operation completely.

The compressor on my HVAC system died, so I needed a new unit. Carolina Air Care was one of three estimates that I received. Their's was the least expensive, and although I have always heard not to go with the least expensive option, I decided to go with Carolina Air Care because of their customer service. Jake was very helpful in determining what type of unit I needed for the size of my house, what temperature I like to keep the house at, etc. He didn't try to sell me something that I didn't need. The guys that installed it were very professional and did a great job. I like that they have someone else come out about a week later to check the entire system to make sure it was installed correctly and to answer any questions. He gave me a couple tips that will help me save energy, and told me the best type of filters to use with my unit. Overall I am very happy with my experience with Carolina Air Care, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a new HVAC system. (See More)

From start to finish, a very professional and superiorly priced organization. I had an entire HVAC system replacement and they were, by far, the lowest price. They replaced everything in one day with a very competent and knowledgeable crew. Jamal, carried out the brunt of the work spending his time in the hot attic for more than 5 hours removing the old system and installing the new. He got an A+ for the day as did Mark who assisted in taking out and transporting the old and new equipment up and down 3 flights of stairs. Jack, with over 40 years experience, while very knowledgable, was outside smoking for the majority of the day. He was not the nicest supervisor and could use some instruction on leadership and treating the younger crew with more respect and dignity. I would've thrown him out of the third floor window if he talked to me the way he did his workers, but I understand that is just the way he is... When Dave came back to provide the quality assurance inspection he was professional, competent and meticulous in his work and attention to detail. The 2 year parts and service warranty plus the 10 year Lennox warranty sealed the deal. I will be happy to have them come back twice a year to keep this new baby running at her best. We recently had Carolina Air Care install 2 split (HVAC) units in our home in Isle of Palms, SC. We had used them before for seasonal inspections and yearly maintenance. They were not only competitive, but actually the lowest bid. The service and commitment they bring is the best we have ever seen. The 3 man crew installed the 2 systems in an all day job, speedily and cheerfully. The conditions they encountered were no obstacle for them. They conquered the tight places and had to get to areas like they did that everyday, and I'm thinking they do. They also cleaned up all the rust and equipment from the old systems (21yr & 13yr). Four days after the install, a representative returned for a follow-up inspection and to answer any more questions we had. JUST GOOD OLD FASHIONED SERVICE. Good to see it still exists. I cannot say enough good things about Carolina Air Care. I own a condo, and I had a new unit installed last week. I was impressed by the professionalism of the installers; they worked tirelessly for more than six hours, and before they left, they cleaned up any mess they made. Unfortunately, an hour or so after they left, I noticed that the coils in my brand new unit were freezing up. It was about 6:00 p.m., and I immediately called the company to notify them of the problem. The office manager could not have been more helpful; she promised to send someone out immediately to determine the problem. Sure enough, 'Andy' soon arrived. He determined fairly quickly that the attic in my building contained fire walls and above each unit there was a hatch/door, held open by a special clip that was designed to disintegrate if touched by fire, which would cause the hatch to slam shut (to prevent a fire from spreading). He discovered that the clip above my unit had broken, so the hatch/door had slammed shut; this prevented air from circulating, which is why my new Heating/AC unit froze up! Andy was able to open the hatch back up, and he assured me that he would order a clip and come back when the clip arrived. He didn't just leave, though. He checked everything to make sure my unit was working well before he even thought of leaving! He worked until after midnight, making sure everything was in order. I received a call the next morning from the office manager; she wanted to ensure that I was satisfied, and she wanted to confirm that the follow-up appointment time still worked for me (it is their policy to have someone come out the day after installation to ensure that everything was done correctly and to the customer's satisfaction).
Carolina Air Care called me a few days ago to tell me the special clip had arrived, and we set up a time for the clip to be installed. (This will be done tomorrow; they would have happily come sooner, but I requested the date. Mind you, I only had my unit installed six days ago! This shows how on-the-ball they are!!)
Another company would probably have sent someone out the next day since I reported the issue 'after closing hours.' THIS company does not work like that! The office manager, who was so very nice, told me that they would not rest until the issue was resolved and I was happy. They literally went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect, and I am beyond happy! THIS company truly cares about their customers, and I gladly recommend them without reservation. I will be a forever customer - and a forever fan - of Carolina Air Care! (See More)

The company I picked had very high ratings from all major players like Home Advisor and Angies List which is important to me. I had called two other a/c companies and they would just tell me I had a heat pump system and that was just the way heat pumps worked and there was nothing I could do about it. He came up with a plan to address all my concerns and needs. Carolina Air executed their plan and within a week and a half all work was completed. I have had the unit for almost a week now and works better than I thought it would. The compressor is very quiet and looks great. This unit compared to the unit that I had before is like comparing a Ferrari to a Yugo. I set the temp to 65 F to see what my new toy would do and it brought the temp from 75 F to 65 F to the bottom floor of my house in under 25 min. This Elite Lennox is a beast. It's really kind of premature to be writing a review about the Lennox unit itself, since it's only been a week since the installation. However, I must say that we are very pleased with the service we received from Carolina Air Care. They were very professional in every aspect of the job. The price was right, they arrived when expected to do the job, they installed the unit and cleaned up everything, then the quality control technician came by the next day to inspect the superb job the installers had done. He explained to us all about how the unit works, what filters to use, what we can expect out of the unit, and how the warranty works. Very knowledgeable guy with some valuable information. Two weeks ago, at the end of our home improvement projects, out air conditioner stopped working. We had a tech (Dan) come out and deduce that the interior condenser coil had a considerable leak. The whole system really needed to be replaced. They provided a move-n-cool so we could sleep and got our system installed within a few days. We were supposed to have the first appointment of the day, but because of a problem in the schedule from the day before, Paul and his crew showed up in the late afternoon instead of 8:30 AM. They worked until after 9PM to almost complete the installation, returning first thing the next morning to finalize the install. They did a thorough job instead of rushing to finish by the end of the day. We really appreciated that. Dan did the quality control check as they were finishing up and we had a cool house to enjoy once again. We had just had new flooring installed and the crew was very clean and made sure they did not make or leave a mess.
My only negative criticism is that they failed to notify us when they knew they wouldn't be able to make their time commitment. They called in the morning to let us know the crew would be late and to reschedule our appointment from 8:30 to 12:30. At 12:30 I had to call to find out where the crew was. I was told it would be 45 minutes and they showed up at almost 3:00. While I understand that problems come up, I did not feel that they were respectful of our time. If they had given us an accurate time table, we could have avoided wasting the whole day waiting for them to show. Had they done that, I would have given them 5 stars across the board. (See More)

I got (3) estimates for the replacement of two systems HVAC. Carolina AirCare's was in the middle of the three.Â
The first person that came out was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. Carolina uses Lennox for their systems and provided me with a lot of material to go over.
Why did I choose Carolina Air Care over the other two competitors?
1. The reviews I looked at were all excellent at various web sites: Â Angies List, Â Google,Yelp, etc.
2. There was no pressure from the sales people, in fact, they encouraged me to get other estimates from providers.
3. I liked the price, warranty, and product.
All the other HVAC Systems American Standard and Carrier were no doubt excellent systems.
When I made my decision I did call the other two companies and explained my decision. Â One was very professional and simply said thank you for considering us, while the other was rude, very negative, and in fact, did hang up on me. Â In all honesty I actually had used this company in the past and when I told the owner why I chose the other company he made a number of poor comments pointed at me and the company I chose.Â
 I was given a date for installation of both units from Carolina Air Care.  I asked how long did they think it would take to install both systems, and was told (1) day.  Honestly I wasn't so sure about that.  Well when install day came I was told they were on their way to install both systems.  I was told there would be two crews.Â
The installers that came to my house were just "GREAT" they were organized and efficient. Â They obviously knew what they were doing. Â They encountered a problem with the opening to my attic that was not wide enough to get the furnace through that space. However, they solved that problem without causing any damage to that opening.
Here is the bottom line. Â They installed the system in 5 hours!!!!! They worked extremely hard, did not waste any time it was real obvious they absolutely knew what they were doing. Â When they finished they went over everything with me.
The following day a Quality Control person came out and went over the entire systems to make sure the installers did there job.
Both units were installed as promised in one day and working. Â
Carolina Air Care has excellent service Warranties, Price, and Product. Â So far I am more than very happy with my choice.

My initial contact with them was because my compressor went bad. Somewhat to be expected with a 12 year old system. Jack came out and reviewed the different systems that he could install and we replaced our 10 SEER with a 15 SEER. I had no previous experience with the company but their customer reviews on Angie's List were excellent, I trust the Lennox brand and their price was lower that others. Follow up responsiveness has been good to excellent. One example of both. Neither occasion for them to come out was due to anything they had done wrong. Once to fine tune the air flow and the other because a part of my old duct work damper with not working properly. Their office staff, particularly Larkin was most helpful. My registration for warranty was handled by them and they provided the form to submit to the electric company for the energy efficiency rebate. Their warranty on parts and labor is equal to or better than others. It has only been 2 months since installation but if their attention to details and responsiveness remains solid over the years, I will remain a loyal fan and call them for future work on my other properties. We had to sweat it out for 8 days before the new equipment could be installed (not sure if it was due to a back up on the installer or availability of the equipment.) We purchased a small portable unit to cool one room in our 2700 Sq Ft home while temperatures averaged 95 during the day and 78 at night. The new system is awesome. It keeps the temperature even both up and downstairs. The installers were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and left our home the way they found it. My old unit died and I got quotes from a couple of shops around town. Carolina Air Care wasn't the lowest price, but they almost were and they were offering better equipment for the price. The service all happened as expected. The only down side was that the techs were at my house until well into the evening, but my attic is tight and I think one or two of them were being trained. Our air conditioning system "died" during the June 2015 heat wave! Obviously all companies serving our area were swamped with service calls, as was Carolina Air Care; however, they worked us in for an inspection the same day (Thursday) we called. Once they determined that our system needed to be replaced, they ordered the new system and had it in place and running the following Tuesday! Quite impressive considering the demand for their services.
The price was very competitive and the Lennox system has performed remarkably well. Our house is now very comfortable at a higher temperature then with the previous system and will definitely save us on our electri bill.
All of the employees of Carolina Air Care were very professional and caring. We highly recommend them. My two sons have also used Carolina Air Care and had the same excellent results. (See More)

The team arrived around 1000 in the AM and left at 2350. There were only three guys to install two large systems in very awkward spaces however, they worked uncomplainingly and corrected several problems to ensure we had cooling before they left. The QA/QC guy sorted out the system and tuned it two days later. While the sophisticated WiFi issues were beyond him, he appears to have got all the mechanics right and then called me in 15 minutes with the Tel No of a Lennox Tech wizard in TX who expertly helped me through diagnostics and solved the problem in 30 minutes. Install was prompt, installers forgot one part of install, but remedied that with next day at time of quality control inspection. I must say Carolina air care and Lennox have made the difficult process of replacing an AC system easy and painless. First the tech came over-on a Saturday for my convience and gave me an estimate for a system. He was very helpful and honest about what I really needed to get to service my residences. He provided a couple options and helped me make a good decidion. He also explained the process and what would be needed. When I called to make an appointment the person was very helpful and prompt and confirmed I could also have my 2nd story system maintained at the same time as installation. The installers were amazing. The system had to go under the house which I think would have been a difficult job but they got it done though it took all day. They explained things and tested the system and also did the maintance and then cleaned up after the installation. They were friendly and nice and polite. (See More)

I had a bad heating/cooling system and called Carolina Air Care. I was extremely happy with every aspect of this situation. I called and scheduled a maintenance man to come to my house. He showed up at the promised time and immediately knew what the problem was. I just moved into this house a few months ago and my electric bill was over $400.00. David told me that it was caused by a bad system. When we turned the heat on it was only heating from the Aux Heat. He told me that the system was bad and the that I needed to replace the whole unit. I agreed with him and selected the best deal that was offered. The install team showed up on time and completed the install the next day. I called for a service issue, since I was smelling gas every time my heat came on. They came over promptly. When the service tech was inspecting my heating & air unit, he discovered that the inside of it had rusted out and it was leaking gas all over. My husband had been maintaining it for 21 years, but its time had run out. A cold snap was coming up in a few days and we wouldn't be able to turn on the heat! The service tech wrote me an estimate, showed me what sort of unit I should have & made payment arrangements and left. A short time later that day, he called & said they had an opening a couple of days later (before the cold snap!), if I wanted to do it then. I was working that day, but my son was home, so I said yes. They came over, put in the new system in a couple of hours, hauled off the old one, and checked to see if everything were working. It was! We went through the cold snap toasty and warm. A few days later, Carolina Air Care called back to see if we were having any issues with it. I was very impressed with their service. (See More)
