Duct cleaning has to be one of the best cost-to-value services going. The work at my house was done by Rick and Barry. They showed up promptly and were all about the job. Clean , efficient and busy. They worked non stop the whole time they were here. The dryer was a last minute add-on and I couldn’t believe all the lint that was pulled out of the machine. The dryer works better . Afterwards air flow in the house was improved -vents flowed freely. Great job good result glad we used the service. I can breathe again! My basement had flooded two month after I bought my house so this cleaning was part of a flood remediation. Barry and his associate arrived early and notified me prior to their arrival. They did a great job cleaning the filthy furnace/air ducts that had likely never been cleaned even before the basement flooded. They helped me find where the filter on my furnace goes (there wasn’t one in there) and even gave me tips about replacing my unsafe dryer vent. Barry at Amistee was very professional. He educated us on the whole process of cleaning our ducts. He gave us valuable advice on damper opening and closing and airflow. He gave us advice on air and humidifier filters. He found some mold which he was able to get rid of and showed us pictures along the way as evidence of what he was seeing. Before I hired Amistee I was wondering if they were really worth the higher price. Now I can say that YES they are. The air flowing through our home affects our health and our heating and cooling bills and I have 100% confidence in what they did and the advice they provided. I highly recommend Amistee. Yesterday I had the air ducts cleaned in my 1950s house, and the Amistee team of Kristopher W. and Barry S. did an excellent job. I set up the appointment by phone in advance, and the office staff were professional and efficient. I liked that the office emailed me further info with the final price after using a coupon, plus sent me appointment reminders by email and text. Then the office called me 45 minutes in advance of Kris and Barry's arrival. Kris and Barry did a great job of cleaning the air ducts, registers, and cold air returns. Barry came a few weeks ago to clean our ducts, but discovered the insulation in the crawl space was disintegrating & he strongly suggested we NOT do the service until after we replaced the insulation. That is a business of integrity! Barry & Adrian L. came back today (after we had installed the new insulation). They were friendly, professional, and very careful moving their equipment around our home (spreading tarps on the floor, foam cushions on corners, wearing booties indoors, and face masks the whole time). They shared lots of pictures showing the fabulous change from "before" to "after". They went to great detail to cover floors, place foam on wall corners, and do everything possible to insure they did not make a mess. Our duct cleaning was on a cold day, so they even installed a temporary curtain over our back door to minimize entry of cold water.
They went to great length to clean every duct/register, including moving of furniture if necessary. Their attention to detail was EXCEPTIONAL. They took the time to "do it right" and it was evident that quality was their top goal. Every bit of dust and dirt created during the process was cleaned up.

Very thorough cleaning. It took more time than average but they went the extra mile to get everything cleaned. Thankfully Barry pointed out several issues that needed to be addressed.
There was evidence of mold in the ductwork and a compromised section of the cold air return that needed to be closed up. The only regret and my reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was they didn't verify that the furnace was fully functioning after they cleaned it. We didn't realize it until 30 minutes after they left. The gas valve switch inside the furnace was in the OFF position so the burners never fired. However, the gas valve still wasn't working after turning it back ON. Eventually, Amistee found a HVAC company to come out and ultimately replace the gas valve switch. Problem solved after 4hrs of discovering the issue. (See More)

Amistee Air Duct Cleaning came into my home and did a great job cleaning out my air ducts...I just moved into my home and wasn’t sure when the ducts had been cleaned...I have uneven heating throughout my home and I thought this was a good way to start the process of getting an even distribution of heat throughout....my team was Barry, Steve and Steve...they lined my floors and stairs with tarp and were very professional. I was shown all the dust that was in the ducts. They cleaned all vents in my home. There was a free duct leak inspection done and I was informed there were several leaking ducts which is the result of my uneven heat distribution... Steve sat and talked to me about air duct sealing, showed me a short video and I was very impressed by what I saw....so needless to say, they will be back at the end of the month to do Aeroseal duct sealing and I am curious to see how the heat distributes throughout my home!

The BEST imo, solved a problem where two other companies failed. We recently bought our 50 yo 2700 sq ft Colonial a year ago. We noticed a couple months later a mold smell from the vents in our master bedroom and two other rooms. I had a different company clean and fog the ductwork. The smell returned within days so I had a different company fog it with their different product but same thing the smell returned 2 days later. They came out again for free which was nice since it wasn’t a satisfactory job the first time. They doused the vents heavily this time but once again smell a few days later. I gave up at that point and didn’t know what to do. A few months later I had a Mold Testing Company come out who detected 2.5 times the safe level of Penicillum Mold in our Master Bedroom. This caused me a lot of worry and stress especially with a 2 year old and a 1 month old in the house. I had 2 different Mold Remediation Companies give me an opinion which both was the same, that we probably had layers of dust and moisture that stacked up and had mold growing on them and was located in a part of the ductwork that wasn’t very accessible. Ie: The supply ducts run from the basement, under a slabbed living room before going up the wall to feed the bedroom, under the slab being the most likely culprit. Sure enough there was a ton of layered dust with a green tinge to it under the slab in the ductwork. Amistee had cameras that confirmed this and they were also able to use a whip to thoroughly clean the ducts finally the correct way. They also recommended the Aeroseal product to seal up any gaps down in there where air from under the slab could be pulled into the ductwork and sent out into the house unfiltered. So they whip cleaned it, Barry did a fantastic job, was very thorough and actually cared to do it well. Then they fogged it with a different product than the other 2 companies and a few days later the Aeroseal was completed. My air in the house and bedroom has never been so fresh, there’s not even a hint of a moldy smell now. I’m having a post job air quality check done to ensure it was successful but my nose and my sinuses already tell me they were. I’m extremely pleased with Amistee and will use them in the future. They had been painted over by the previous owner, so I never suspected that they were made of anything other than metal. Amistee said they were unable to do the job today, until I get the material checked by a professional. I’m SO thankful the guys were educated enough to recognize the potential danger. I worked in Industrial Market Research so I know how important feedback is to companies.
For starters their equipment was state of the art. My neighbor recently had theirs done and there was no comparison. I chose Amistee because of the recommendation of people I know personally. They were right. It does not get better than this! Barry completely informed me and answered any questions. His assistant was also very nice.
They gave me an estimate of time they would need. They ended up working twice as long because the vents had never been cleaned here before. They did NOT try to charge more. There was no mess during or even after to clean up after they finished. They even place protective pieces anywhere that the hose might touch a painted surface and used clean tarps on carpet and stairs!
It just does not get any better than this!
I am posting this review because they earned the highest marks and to help others that might not know who to trust. Finally, dryer vents are the biggest cause of house fires. They checked mine and it did not need cleaning. How is that for honesty? Bravo!!!! (See More)

Our ducts have never been clean so I contacted Amistee based on recommendations. From start to finish they were very professional and prompt. Once I had my cleaning set-up they called a day in advance to confirm and then called when they were on their way the day of. Had never used an air duct cleaning service before so really didn't know what to expect. I was blown away by how professional Barry and Blair were. Care was taken to protect our carpet and walls and the work was done efficiently and throughly. We had contracted them to clean our air ducts and the dryer vent. Upon inspection Barry discovered the dryer vent wasn't even connected and had been blowing hot air and lint above the drop ceiling in the basement for a very long time. He and Blair went above and beyond to clean the mess and reconnect the vent. I know this was probably a fire hazard and I'm very grateful they were so conscientious. The pictures showed how much dust and debris they cleaned from my vents. I have never had my air ducts cleaned before so I am curious how much I will notice the effect in my air quality. They worked with me to schedule a time that worked for me and my family. As promised, they called to confirm the appointment and again when they were on their way. I was most impressed with the level of care Barry and Colin took to protect my flooring and walls during the prep. Very professional and attentive crew. Barry and Ian arrived on time and were very helpful and friendly. They were kind to my nervous pets too.
Barry and Ian explained the process of Duct Cleaning and got right to work. Laid tarps and foam to protect the wood floor and wall corners. Wore booties when inside to protect carpet.
We moved into this house in October 16. The previous owners had been here for thirty years. They were smokers and had done a fair amount of renovations over the years, I don't believe the ducts had ever been cleaned before. They were filthy!
I could hear all the debris bouncing up through the hose as they worked.
They showed me pictures of before and after and it's a world of difference.
When I called to get an estimate, Julie in the office, was very friendly and helpful. The price she gave me was exactly what I paid. No up sell on the phone. No added charges once the service was complete.
Cant ask for anything more then that.

Barry was extremely thorough. During his first visit to our home, he found a trouble spot that would prevent him from doing the cleaning as thoroughly as he likes. He suggested an access panel be placed descreetly in our ceiling. He suggested we have new filters ready to replace the old once he cleaned the ducts. He also suggested we have the ducts cleaned on a warmer day as both furnaces would be shut off for 4-5 hours. It was 15 degrees outside...so his was very helpful info! He came back to the house 2 weeks later and I was ready for him (and it was warmer outside!) He and Greg worked efficiently and were very mindful of my newly painted walls. They both wore booties to protect my carpets and also worked around my two pets nicely. Once finished, Barry patiently walked me through the proper care and replacement of my variety of filters. He took pictures and repeated when I had questions. We believe that our air quality was noticeably improved by evening. Very happy we got this service done and we would use Barry at Amistee again! Our Ventilation cleaners were very cordial, informative and thorough. They answered all of our questions and gave recommendations. Were provided with before and after photos of our ventilation and the difference was staggering! I could not believe what we were breathing in all this time. Lots of dust, debris and even CONCRETE swept into our return vent from tile work (couldn't BELIEVE anyone would do such a thing!). They even found a whiskey bottle!

Barry and Ian were very professional in cleaning my air ducts. Explained what they were doing and making me feel comfortable as they would go through each heat register and cold air return. They wore shoe protectors and made sure my walls and corners were protected with huge wall bumpers made of foam so as not to scratch my newly painted walls. Amistee came highly recommended by another vendor that we use for other jobs. We were very pleased with the work that Jeff and Barry did in our home. They arrived on time and were courteous, professional and friendly. We have very light carpeting and were pleased that they arrived with shoe covers because the carpeting goes down the basement steps as well. They went right to work starting in the basement and did some adjustments there and checked the registers and returns throughout the house. Although we had moved some items away from their work area, they informed us that they would do it so we took a seat and had a cup of coffee. They laid down protection runners and bumper cushions before running the duct vents through the kitchen and dining room to get to the basement. They also took pictures of the ducts before the cleaning and discovered that the builder/installers had left drywall pieces in the vents which told us that the previous company that cleaned our vents several years ago did a very poor good job of which we already knew because the furnace wouldn't start after they left and when we told them that we were going to put a stop payment on the check we had just wrote they showed within minutes, not to mention that they were supposed to clean our dryer vent but didn't because shortly afterward we had to replace our dryer and fortunately for us, the installer couldn't get the heat flowing and upon checking the vent, discovered clumps of lint clogged in the the piping. Jeff and Barry did not rush but took their time in every room and in the basement. What impressed us most was that they did an excellent cleanup when their work was completed. I had the air ducts cleaned by a different company about 4 years ago, but still noticed lot of dust in the house and decided to call Amistee Air Duct Cleaning. They wore booties over their shoes and used drop cloths everywhere. I didn't actually end up getting my air ducts cleaned, so I can't comment on that aspect of Amistee, but the honesty of Barry and Jacob in alerting me to a potentially serious health concern with my house's HVAC system was what warranted this 5-star review. They arrived at my house at 8am sharp, and when they went into the basement to evaluate the air ducts, they quickly informed me that I likely had asbestos insulation being used in the cold air return lines. Since asbestos is very dangerous when airborne, it wouldn't be safe for them to use 300 psi air to try to clean out those lines. Barry said he could charge us several hundred dollars to clean out just the heat lines, but he was very honest and said that all that would really do is blow all the dirt and dust into the asbestos-lined ducts. I'm going to have the insulation tested for asbestos to confirm their diagnosis and plan on calling Amistee back to clean the ducts once I've taken care of the asbestos issue. (See More)

And Barry worked great as a team. I hope I didn't follow them around too much! But I'm always interested how people interact with each other as they are performing their daily work. I was impressed how together they cleared the way of any minor problems as they went about the process of the duct cleaning. They didn't mind my questions and answered them directly with patience even though they also had a job to perform. If I had a concern or suggestion, they would incorporate it into their process. They would let me know the next steps and why as they were doing it. They exhibited an understanding of the duct system even though every home is a little different, you could tell they've seen it all before.

Our main issue for calling Amistee was the dust residue from a first floor hardwood floor installation. Barry and Tyler were on time and very efficient. Staff was professional from the time I made the appointment until they left my house. Easy to schedule, received a reminder call the day prior, and another call a half hour before they arrived. They worked on our 1100 sq ft home for a couple hours, and addressed all the registers and returns, and all the ductwork. We could hear tons of gunk as it was sucked up through their hoses. Saw a couple before/after photos, and expect to receive a dvd of more photos soon (part of their service). We have been doing remodelling for the last two years, and we badly needed to have this done. The guys showed up earlier than I expected which messed with my daughter's nap time but pushing nap time is not a big deal for a well done job. I am very happy with the service and how clean the air in my home feels already (they left about 15 minutes ago). Having purchased a condo that was 16 years old, we knew it would be a good idea to have the duct work cleaned since we were certain it had never been done since new construction. Barry Stead was the professional that showed up on time, both him and his partner were and polite and professional, both the men did very good work and they showed us pictures of the air duct return and supply before and after cleaning. They even found a problem that lint from the dryer exhaust pipe which was running next to a return line on the furnace and dryer lint was being pulled into the furnace! Barry and Jason did a wonderful job cleaning our air ducts and furnace after a kitchen fire we had a couple days ago. In fact, Amistee was so gracious to send someone out the same day I called, even though they technically were booked until the following week. Once I told them we couldn't turn the air on due to the fire extinguisher dust that was in the duct work and my severe allergies and asthma that were flaring up because of it, they immediately booked my home for that very afternoon. Barry was very respectful and thoughtful, as well. He helped me learn how to change my humidifier filter and advised me on some maintenance things I can be doing for my air system. Their high powered equipment (truck with negative pressure to suck out an elephant), thoroughness in cleaning all air ducts, vents, and furnace, along with the humidifier, as well as their kindness and the $30 coupon I found online make me want to give a raving review for this company. First off, they called to say they were actually going to be 15 minutes early! There was a lot of construction done here recently, so the ducts were exceptionally dirty and dusty. They're so clean now that they actually shine on the inside. The guys were here for almost 2 hours and they were professional and polite the whole time. They were very clean, putting down drop cloths everywhere they went with the hose. They also took the time to explain the whole process to me. I called Amistee based on other reviews I'd read online, and was greeted kindly by the receptionist, who was able to schedule an appointment for me quickly. The duct cleaning specialists, Barry (and another specialist whose card I lost) made sure to call as they were heading out, and put covers on shoes first thing. I found both gentlemen to be very helpful and informative, working efficiently to get the job done. I was very happy with the work done by Barry and Rob on cleaning our ductwork, which hasn't been done in at least 25 years. My house was kept clean, they were fast and efficient at what they did, and were very polite and answered my questions about the process. Amistee Air Duct Cleaning and technician, Barry Stead, did a great job in very difficult circumstances. We are in the process of renovating a home we purchased and the previous owners had pets and had not cleaned the ducts. Add drywall dust, construction debris and other pollutants, and you have a very messy situation. Since the renovations are ongoing, Barry and Jeff had to avoid construction spots, cover and uncover vents, find vents that were hidden by stacked up furniture, etc. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Then they sent me before and after pictures of the ducts which showed the toxic conditions I was living in before they showed up and the very cool and clean condition that existed after the more than two hours they spent in my home. Barry carefully explained the process and expectations and he and Jeff promptly exceeded them. I give them 5 stars and my highest recommendation. (See More)

From the time I called to the service techs coming out, I have nothing but good things to say about Amistee. Barry and Dan found asbestos (something the home inspector missed) attached to my heat ducts so they gave me the information for an environmental specialist to come out. We used Amistee for Airduct cleaning after reading online reviews from multiple sites. Barry and Rob were good at communicating arrival times and came well prepared. Anytime there was something out of the ordinary they brought it to my attention. I had a great experience with this company from the people on the phone to the technicians. The technicians arrived EARLY for my appointment! Yeah! They called to make sure I was home and were able to start the job early. How awesome is that, instead of waiting for the last few minutes of the promised time frame! Barry was excellent. He answered all my questions and even gave some suggestions for how to keep my furnace running more efficiently. I didn't have the humidifier on (oops) and he showed me how to fix that! Well, it was a sad day for me indeed but I appreciate the honesty from Barry and forgive me I forgot the other guy’s name. Barry told me the air ducts were full of dirt and dust which explains my serious allergy problems and outbreaks of bronchitis! My Amistee technician, Barry, was professional and efficient throughout my complete duct cleaning service. Both Barry and Mike worked hard and completed the cleaning service, wore protective foot coverings before they entered my home and put down tarps in the main work areas to protect my flooring. Furthermore, Barry took the time and explained problem areas in my duct work, specifically in my cooling coil, and showed me how Amistee was going to remedy these areas. I really liked the before/after pictures that were sent to my email account and I have chosen to share these with my friends and co-workers!
