Last night, on one of the coldest nights of the year, my Furnace began blowing cold, instead of warm air.
Normally, if this had occurred during a week day, my first step would have been to call my regular Heating/AC, Soltman Heating and Cooling on Nine Mile Road in Ferndale, not far from where I live.
But since it was a Friday Night, with my wife was walking around complaining and acting like she was about to freeze to death, because Soltman is not open on Saturdays, and waiting until Monday was not an option, I had little choice but to look at the Internet to find the highest rated Heating/AC company close to my house.
I found 8 companies in this area open on Saturday, and based on an off-the-chart 4.8 out of 5 average customer rating, accompanied by glowing written customers reviews, I chose Air Master, located on Bermuda street in Ferndale.
I woke in an extremely cold house on Saturday morning and called Air Master at 8:05 A.M., 5 minutes after they opened.
My call was answered with no wait time, giving me the chance provide the Air Master customer representative the information she needed to schedule a qualified technician to come to my house and fix my furnace.
Believe it or not, before 10:30 A.M., an almost unheard of response time for a Saturday marked by extremely cold weather, a professional, knowledgeable Heating/AC technician, Kevin, called to say that he was on his way.
Once he got to our house, he diagnosed the reason we were getting cold, not hot air from our furnace, explained the malfunctioning part and its cost before he installed it, and made my shivering wife extremely happy by getting a generous flow of hot, not cold air from our furnace.
Although I was satisfied and happy with Air Master, our technician, Kevin, their courtesy, professionalism, timeliness and results achieved that I happily paid my bill, I so pleased with my experience that I did something else that I never, ever do.

When I had trouble with my air conditioner that Air Master installed, I called the main office number, and they had someone there THE SAME DAY! In fact, John arrived within about a half an hour (he happened to be nearby). When he arrived, he quickly discovered the issue and resolved it. Air master installed a brand new Air conditioning unit. The entire process in dealing with the company and their technicians was awesome. Dennis initially came to my house and took his time in going over the details of my house, my basement, and my needs, and didn’t try to over sell me. I called Airmaster again to put in some extra ducts and vents in my basement that I’m now trying to finish. Again, they were great to deal with. Damien came out promptly, left him alone, and the job was perfect. Afterwards, I asked him about whether I could get some additional registers since I’ll need them when the basement gets finished. He actually had them delivered that same day, even though the job was done. Great service. Great finished results. I have never had such a bad experience with a service provider ever. The service technician sold me a furnace that would not even fit into the utility room since he up-sold as much as he could to gain a profit. I think they work on commission. He lied when he said I could use my rebate to pay on the bill since it was not a check but a gift card that could not be used to pay this bill or any bill. When the service technicians came to install the furnace, they had to order me a different one because even tearing out a wall the furnace I was sold would not fit. I had to jump through hoops to get a reduced price on the less efficient furnace and even then it took repeated phone calls to Air Master to get resolved. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone which is a shame because we had used this company for the 35+ years they have been around. Shame on you.
