We made an appointment with Universe Home Services to have our 16-year-old refrigerator repaired. On a previous service call from another company, we were told it couldn't be fixed. Mike W. initially came to assess the situation. He told us he would order the parts and complete the job when we got home from vacation. Well, today Mike showed up promptly at 8 AM and saved the day for us. Now my ice/water on the door is working! He admitted that our refrigerator was old, but he also said that if the parts were available (and they were) he would fix it.
EXCELLENT value and service. I will not hesitate to recommend Universe to anyone with an appliance problem.

I was very pleased with Mike the Appliance repairman who installed our Ice Maker. Explained what the problem was, had a mask and gloves on due to the Coronavirus, and arrived at 8:40AM with a window of 8AM-11AM. Mike took about 30 minutes overall for the install. Price wise, it was a little expensive, but I've always believed you get what you pay for, and that certainly was the case with Mike and Universe Appliance! (See More)

Excellent technician. He did an extensive amount of troubleshooting as the problem was elusive. He serviced the dryer and did a check to see if it was working before he left. I called Universal home services as they were listed in my Pennysaver magazine. I was nervous to call because i never made a service call before for Anything. The receptionist Laura was very friendly and made me feel relaxed. I told her my washing machine was old and that it wouldnt turn on. She asked fir the model # and said if parts werent available. they woyld advise me to buy a new machine. I felt like she cared abd that i wasnt gonna get ripped off ( you see horror stories all the time on the news) She said she could have someone there later in the day. Mike (the serviceman) came to my house and checked out my washer. It was a simple fix and he was polite and honest. I made him stay till I did a load of wash just to be sure the machine would work and he said ok. I want you to feel comfortable that it'll work . I was so worked up about this all day. They were extremely helpful on the phone and showed up the same day. The issue I had was with the service charge of $110 to come diagnose the problem. Normally, when a service/repair company charges that fee, they put it towards the repair fee if you choose to use them. I did choose to use Universe, but they charged the $110 separate from the repair fee. I do think the way they explained it initially was misleading. The work was good, and it was fast. I appreciate that. But it was expensive and the pricing breakout could have been explained better. (See More)
