On one of the coldest morning we awoke to a freezing house. It seems our heat went out overnight. My husband called Universe (we r under contract) and the offered him a suggestion over the phone. They said they would send a tech out within 30 min. B4 we knew it, he was ringing our bell (maybe 10 to 15 minutes after phone call). It was a minor problem and he fixed it within 10 min. My experience with Universe Home Services was an excellent one. It started with a conversation and visit by Jeff to my home to get a quote for boiler repair. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was back with a reasonable quote within hours. Appointment for repair was set up for two days later. James the repairman showed up on time after first calling to confirm appointment. James was clearly very knowledgeable of the boiler system and answered all my questions very professionally. The repair was done quickly and met all my expectations. I want to thank both Jeff and James for a job well done. Going forward, you will be my HVAC company of choice for any type of repair. He came to replace a failing pressure relief valve and informed me that Universe protocol has him change out the expansion tank and the boiler fill valve at the same time. All covered under the service contract. I like that Universe is being proactive and reducing call backs. Also, James didn't mind me asking a lot of questions. I got some useful information from him on the lifespan of boilers & hot water heaters and a whole house filtration system. He gave me some useful insight. (See More)

One of our circulators was making a humming sound that was driving me crazy. James was the technician that was sent. He changed our faulty circulator, which then led to another problem, through no fault of his. He took care of all the problems we had and took the time to make sure everything was working properly. I purchased a boiler from Universe in March of 2018 and the installation was exceptional. They were clean and prompt. they ran all of the pipes and wiring in a very structured manner and labeled everything. I would give them 5 stars but i am a bit concerned. Last week was the coldest day since the boiler was installed and it was unable to supply enough heat to my main zone to keep the temperature above 68. My old boiler never had this problem. I called universe and they sent a technician over promptly but he was unable to find any problems. I'm worried that the boiler they sold me was undersized for my home. I'll keep an eye on it and complain if i have the same problem the next cold day. (See More)

ursala was extremnely helpful on the phone and james was great on site. only problem was last year i was told that i had a bacteria problem inthe air handler drain. the technician said i should have a black lite installed to kill the bacteria at a cost of $750 and i should have the bulb changed every year at a cost of $50 per bulb. now i find out that the bulb will cost me $225 +tax. if i knew that last year i would never have had it installed. i would have had it cleaned out for $750 instead. i am leaving the existing bulb in until next year and maybe for another year after.
