Explained to vendor on phone what specific task I needed their Service person to perform, clean the fan on a Mitsubishi split AC unit. They assured me their technician could perform task in one visit. Technician arrived, seemed confused with task on hand, used a upside down 5 gallon bucket to view unit, removed cover, I gave a 3 step latter to use so not to damage my new wood floors, removed cover and proceeded to explain this was a two man job, required removal of all internal components and that would be $1,000 when a second technician could be scheduled, but stated they are very busy. Closed unit back up and charged me $135 for basically nothing. What disturbed me most is YouTube demonstrates a way to clean the fan by simply removing the horizontal louvers simple slide clips, then from the center releasing the vertical louvers that simply swing out and guess what one man can now clean the fan from below, which I did using a soft brush a vacuum and gentle cleaning agent. I am disappointed they did not offer this as a solution (obviously designed for this very task), charged me to tell me what I already knew and wanted to charge me $1000 for what turned out to be a one hour job. I am very surprised at Universal who I always believed was a reputable company I guess they became complacent. In all fairness ELM A/C did the same thing to me, showed up said I need a fan cleaning and would have to be scheduled. Elm never bother to even call back, why i turned to Universal and described precisely what needed to be done. (See More)

Our air conditioning upstairs stopped working. Frank came to see what the problem was and fix it. He was professional, articulate and told me what was wrong. Basically our system has outlived itself. We've had it for 17 years and it's only supposed to last 12-15. So we decided to have it replaced. He could have just left it at that, but he didn't. He went the extra mile and hosed off the coil, got the unit working again, and it will limp along until it can be replaced. Really great service. (See More)

Frank himself was fine. He came out, examined the unit, and found several problems. Due to the age of the unit, he suggested complete replacement which I did not have a problem with. However, when the salesman from Universe came out, I received a quote that I was able to beat by several thousand dollars with a higher end unit from the same manufacturer. (See More)

Big thumbs up to Universe Home Services. We have had this company for about five years. I think we pay $360 per year for a maintenance program and emergency call service. We’ve had to call them to her three times and they’ve always been great. About six months ago they install the tankless water heater which we loved and has given us no issues, as well as a whole house water filtration system When I was trying to do the dinner dishes about nine I noticed the hot water was ice cold and then realized it was no heat coming up. I called the number and got the answering service. They were very pleasant and within three minutes I had a callback from the lady at universe. She was as pleasant as if it was 10 o’clock in the morning. She told me someone would be dispatched right away and within about 55 minutes very nice gentleman (Frank) was at the door - again, with a smile as if it were normal working hours and not 10 pm. Turns out the tankless boiler needed to be reset which only took a few minutes and he stayed long enough to make sure that the heat was coming up and the water was nice and hot. Within 90 minutes of realizing I had no heat or hot water everything was taken of and everyone that I dealt with was pleasant and professional. Very pleased :) (See More)

Frank came close to 8:30PM, so it was late. He was there for over 2 hours, but he did a great job and even stayed to make sure the heat was working in every room in the house. He answered all of my questions with knowledgeable detail and clarified each thing he was doing to fix my heating system. By the end of the night my kids were sleeping comfortably in a warm room and bed. I had to wait an extra day in the cold, but the heat's still running and I'm confident that the Fall/Winter will be better because Frank's job well done. (See More)

Had a situation with no heat or hot water after normal business hours when the temperature was supposed to drop to below freezing. How comforting to call Universe and speak to a helpful person rather than listen to a recording. Frank was on time and diagnosed and repaired the problem right away. He was experienced and knowledgeable and had the parts he needed right in his truck! The best part was everything was covered under the service contract. Thank you Universe! (See More)

Frank was absolutely amazing. Service was super fast for an emergency call. He took the time to go over my problem and my concerns. He showed me everything from top to bottom. He knew exactly what was wrong and fixed it super fast. He gave me multiple options on what to do in the future so that it doesn’t happen again and made suggestions on how to prevent it from happening. I highly recommend this company. The Universe Team arrived on time and were very courteous. Mike, first sat down with me and explained ever detail to me as to what they were going to do. His discussions were clearly defined and He explained from the very beginning of the Project. He created an environment, whereby you could openly discuss any areas of concern and ask any type of questions. They All were very courteous and knowledgeable (from just watching them perform) and also Mike was very knowledgeable in his explaining this system to me. They All worked very, very hard and as a "Team". Then they cleaned up afterwards. Mike then explained afterwards, how the system is going to work and showed me how to maintain the filters. He gave me some informative information, on how the system works and made sure that I fully understood. I Just love these Guys. They gave me top-notch service at 110%. They are just so awesome. You could not have wished for a better Team . Their Custom Service Skills were way above average(which a lot of workers, do not possess today). Had Central air installed 2 days ago. First, electrician installed electrical outlet below a window well grate so it could not be accessed. They came back to move it but now the system does not work 2 days after it was installed. The installers were professional and accommodating, but I feel that based on my experience, I used the wrong company for my central air installation. (See More)
