I recently had to have some plumbing work done at my moms house. The man (I’m sorry I don’t recall his name) came out in a reasonable amount of time and was able to fix the first issue. The next day Russ came out and fixed the second issue. I don’t live in the area so they called me to update me on what was going on. We used Universe Home Services for a plumbing issue at my moms house this week. The service technician Russ was outstanding. Did a great job and cleaned up after himself.
We have used Universe to install a new heating system, for plumbing issues and for appliance issues. From the people that answer the phones in their office to the technicians Universe is a top notch company to deal with.

A simple clogged slop sink backup turned into a nightmare when it was discovered the problem was a blockage in the main sewer line from the street - a Nassau County sewer blockage responsibility. Joe H contacted the necessary departments and stayed on site until the situation was abated. My basement was flooded with black sewage water but with Joe's help the nightmare was under control. Called Universe with a plumbing issue and to my surprise they could accommodate me the same day! Never expecting this, I asked for the next day and it was no problem. My timeline was 12-4 and actually received a call that they could come earlier - which I welcomed. The technician Joe H presented with a smile on his face and introduced himself from the company. We spoke about the issue, he evaluated the situation, and gave me a couple of options! He was courteous and professional and answered all my questions. This is the third experience I’ve had with Universe - this one regarding plumbing and two concerning my central AC. I couldn’t be happier and will now be using them for all my plumbing, electrical, and ac issues/needs. I called for an appointment to repair a pipe under the bathroom sink. The technician arrived within the appointment window and greeted my wife and i very politely and with a smile. Joe, the technician went to the bathroom sink and after a few minutes explained what the issue was. He gave my wife and i three options to resolve the problem. After a short discussion in which he explained in detail what the long term and short term outcomes would be for each option. Once my wife and i decided on an option Joe ordered the part required for the job, got the part from his home office and made the repair. We were extremely satisfied with the final outcome and would ask for Joe in the future if we needed any plumbing services. We have been customers of Universe for almost 15 years with a heating and hot water service contract. Whenever we have needed them they have been there. I have used Universe for a number of issues that needed correcting in my home. They installed our boiler when we converted to gas, adjusted our gas lines for two fire places, and replaced our water heater when it was finally time to do so (11 years old).
Each time they came to my house, they were professional, efficient, cleaned up any mess they made, and then took the time to answer my questions about the new equipment they installed.
Their prices are fair, and their service is impeccable. The have never pushed me to buy anything, which is a nice change. If you are looking for minor fixes or major upgrades, go with Universe and save yourself from unnecessary stress and headaches. Their service will leave you worry free.
As a side note, I started using Universe a while ago. One winter, when I had oil heating, I contacted a company I had a contract with at the time and they were going to leave me without oil for a number of days because I was not signed up for their top plan.
I contacted Universe, as well as three other companies, and Universe was the only one willing to give me oil that day for the daily price. They kept my house heat going and I switched to them. I have been happy ever since. (See More)
